My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with our family and this cabin was wonderful. The view is the best that we have experienced in over 20 yrs of renting cabins in the Townsend/Wears Valley area. Very clean and plenty of room for 7 adults. The road leading to the cabin is mostly gravel but easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle. We will definitely be booking this cabin again.
This is a beautiful location and a beautiful home. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was large enough to cook Thanksgiving dinner, and the porch provided a stunning view of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The house itself is located in the middle of the woods with no other neighbors in site. We would come back here the next time we are in the Smoky's without hesitation.
We’ve stayed in various Tennessee cabins over the years, and the view from Camp Black Bear is unmatched. We spent hours on the deck between coffee, meals, games and just gazing at the mountains…it was breathtaking. The cabin itself had everything we needed and the hosts were readily available. Hiking, restaurants, shopping and activities were a short drive away. The afternoon visit from a momma bear and her cub while we were on the deck playing Yahtzee was a highlight for the whole family. Such a beautiful and peaceful trip with lots of memories created for our whole group!
The best views of the area are right out the back door. Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked with supplies. The only thing to consider is the drive up the mountain to get to the cabin. It wasn't a problem for us, but not everyone, or every car, will be able to handle the "goat trail of a driveway". Mama bear with 3 babies visited daily which was wonderful to observe from the deck.
