Family of 5 stayed the weekend and it was perfect. The property is private, amazing sculptures and statues throughout, beautiful art and many books. Special art making table and space with warm notes left by owner inviting guests to make art. Private lake stocked with coi fish and turtles. Adirondack chairs were great for morning reading at the lake. We will rebook and can’t wait to return!
Do to the passing of my father in law we had to make last minute reservations for a place to stay for five adults. Due to the baseball season in the area two hotel rooms for three nights was close to $2000.00 for three nights. This property accommodated all of us for half the price. The drive was a little bit out of the way, but other than that it was perfect. Very clean and well maintained property. The host was also very gracious.
Very clean and as advertised. Owner and property manager were great to work with. It was the home away from home we were looking for. Would use this property again.

About the host
Hosted by Anna
I live in California with my husband and adultish "kids". I grew up just down the road from this property, but escaped small town living as soon as I could. I moved to London, then Manhattan before settling in the Bay Area, CA 27 years ago. We have travelled to many places in the world and I have spent many years away but Otego has always been home. The people, the countryside, the way of living is so wonderful here. We're happy to be able to share the peace and tranquility along with my father's art for fellow travelers.
Why they chose this property
This land was a haven for me growing up. I loved the smells and sounds of green fields and quiet woods. The house I grew up in burned down in 2005. My father had always envisioned building a "pyramid house up on the hill" so this property is the result of that dream. We love it as much as my father did.
What makes this property unique
The property location was chosen by my father. He had the pond dug in 1990, then came a sauna shortly thereafter and eventually the house in 2015. The home is surrounded by many of the sculptures my father created, as well as tranquil trees and our lovely pond/lake. I call it a "pond", my English husband says it's a "lake"...we'll let you decide. The pond/lake is a world within itself - in constant motion with changing seasons and creatures of all kinds. Our most favorite being the puppy like koi fish and our own bullfrog choir. It's a peaceful place to be. Come check it out!
