From the 20 foot wide beachfront balcony to the gorgeous interior design, it leaves nothing to be desired. A tour of the three bedrooms in tropical shades blended with pitch-perfect décor and designer linens will leave you saying ‘WOW’! Plus, the master suite comes complete with a oversized bathtub and walk-in shower in its private bathroom making it a great place to unwind. Moreover, entertaining family and friends will be pure delight in this Destin, FL condo! The granite and stainless steel kitchen is completely open to the dining area and the living room which features a very large flat screen TV – all of which looks out over the expansive Gulf of Mexico. A ride down the private entry elevator to the lobby level will take you to even more ‘wowing’ experiences. Silver Shells is one of Destin’s premier resorts offering lots of extras. Amenities include several pools and hot tubs with waterfall features and poolside cabanas and the famous Ruth‘s Chris steakhouse featuring 3 bars and live music.. All of this luxury is wrapped in lush tropical foliage with green lawns and shady arbors throughout. The best part about a vacation at Silver Shells though has got to be the location – to the north and within walking distance are shops, Big Kahuna’s Waterpark, and a restaurant to suit every taste bud, and to the south lies the soft white beaches and emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico. Silver Shells Getaway

This is our third time staying at Silver Shells -- it's always consistent and we have little to no complaints. The communication leading up to our vacation is always concise and helpful with step-by-step instructions for check-in and out. We also appreciate condos that feature two bedrooms with king beds!

Girls Trip

The condo was beautiful and had awesome views. The beach was amazing we felt like we were in the Caribbean. A couple of recommendations would be to have a hair dryer and also beach towels. Had a great time and would definitely recommend the condo.

Perfection

Beautiful condo, we saw dolphins every morning from the balcony. Kitchen well stocked and everything was very clean! Convenient location to Publix & Walmart for groceries & necessities. We loved our stay! Only criticism is please include beach chairs like the other units do, they are such a big expense on top of the rental. And some games in the condo would be nice. Otherwise it was perfection!

Unit 705

Unit 705 was nice, spectacular views of the beach. My only complaint is that the kitchen looked cleaned, however, it was not....kitchen had an unpleasant odor. It was straighten, but not cleaned.

Fabulous view and condo

When we walked into the condo the view was the first thing we saw and that was spectacular. The condo was also amazing. We had 6 adults and 2 children, 18 mo. and 4. The beds were comfortable and there was enough furniture for all of us to sit at the same time. In-unit washer and dryer were very helpful. Beach access was close and easy. With our condo we did receive one free activity per day for one person through Explorie. We did use this for golf but apparently the parasailing we booked didn't qualify. We thought that all the activities listed were part of the 1 free per day program, so if you take advantage of this offer make sure the activity actually says, "1st one free." For our purposes, we would rather have had the option to reserve chairs each day. Chair rental, available by 3rd party, was $60 per day for one set of chairs and an umbrella. Check in was a bit confusing. We were supposed to use the service elevator to go to our room and use the door code. We were actually given access early, @1:00 instead of having to wait til 4 but finding the correct elevator to access the room was a bit tricky. We had to call the management company to have them help us locate it. Some more direction in the information would have been helpful. The information I was sent indicated the private elevator could only hold 400 lbs. but the signage in the elevator indicated 2500 lbs. Other than the check in confusion, we had a great stay in an amazing condo.

A little disappointed

We have stayed in this unit before and had a fabulous experience, however, this trip had a few hiccups. We had key fobs that didn’t work leaving family members without a way to get in at numerous times during the trip. In order to get them replaced, we had to schedule an appointment due to the holiday week which we didn’t have time for. The unit got extremely warm later in the day which took a good amount of time to cool down. And for some reason our fridge froze pretty much all our food. We did not adjust any settings! We also didn’t enjoy sitting on our porch every morning and smelling weed but I know the property manager of our unit had no control over that! Overall the unit itself is great and understand that things happen….

Room was great, as well as the location. Pool and beach were excellent. Check-in was chaotic. Seemed like we had to figure out everything on our own about the rental. Would have been nice to have a person meet us and walk through like most other VRBO properties I've stayed.

Beach vacation

The property is beautiful!! The ocean view is awesome! I loved sitting on the deck in the morning (& evening) reading, listening to the ocean. The sand on the beach is really fine. The elevator into the room was really nice too. There was nothing I didn’t like about this place.

A great property with minor flaws

We spent a week with our adult children and grandchildren. Overall the experience was positive with a few minor annoyances. The condo was more than suitable with beautiful views of the beach. The beach itself was secluded and well maintained. The property is near everything and very convenient. The minor annoyances were a dishwasher that was broken requiring us to hand wash dishes from our arrival on Saturday until it was finally replaced on Thursday. Slow draining water that stood in tubs until maintenance snaked the drains. And broken glass left on our balcony from a previous tenant. The management company was responsive to these issues.

Enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay! Weather was perfect and the room was very nice! This was our first time staying here so we were not familiar with the property. Even though we had all the instructions on how to get into our room…. We could not find the service elevator! If you use the private elevator, you need a key card (which we would get AFTER getting into our actual unit.) So…. How do we get to our unit if we don’t have a card yet??? A guest of the resort helped us find the right elevator to the outside of our unit. Once I put in the code, we were able to get into our room and get our key cards for the other “private” elevator. I’m not sure what we would have done if the gentleman didn’t help us because it was after hours! Other than this small hiccup - the vacation was wonderful for us all and we would definitely stay here again!!
