About this property
Historic Farmhouse and Gardens on 160 acres
Step back in time at Cedar Lane Farm, a 1830s Georgia farmhouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with its heart-pine paneled rooms, cozy book-lined library, elegant formal dining room, and bright and airy breakfast nook over-looking a stunning landscape. Wander through the formal boxwood garden, ornamental kitchen garden or take a dip in the private swimming pool.
The space
The authentic restoration of the house at Cedar Lane has been given the award for excellence by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and is featured in national architectural books and magazines. The house retains its old-world charm with large rooms furnished in historically appropriate antiques, artwork and rugs. The beds come with custom made plush mattresses and 100% cotton bedding. Because the rooms are just as they were almost 200 years ago you feel as though you have entered a living history museum, but a fully equipped kitchen is available for either a quick breakfast in the morning or for preparing elaborate, elegant meals. A full bathroom is cleverly tucked in for each of the three bedrooms. Guests can wander through the formal gardens and enjoy them from windows throughout the house. The surrounding 160 acres are available for walking, birdwatching and soaking in the remarkable diverse wildlife of the Georgia Piedmont.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house, with 3 ample bedrooms, 3 full baths, a kitchen with breakfast room and picture window overlooking the grounds. A formal dining room is equipped with glassware, flatware and china place settings. The private pool, tucked in among evergreens, is available all summer.
Other things to note
Please note that our pricing is based on the number of guests registered. If it turns out that guests have been added after registration, an additional fee of $50/guest per night will be added to your stay.
Educational programs on the history of the farm and gardens as well as current farming practices are available to guests as part of our Farmstay program. If you are interested, please schedule these brief walking tours well in advance.
The old house has its quirks but is full of charm when treated with respect and understanding. While it is a book worm and nature lover's dream, there are flat screens tucked away in the library and breakfast room. Roku TVs provide internet access to all major streaming platforms including more than 100 free channels on Fubo.
We are big dog lovers and would like to welcome your furry friend to the property, but pets need to be approved in advance.
