About this property

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful bungalow steps from Mobile Bay. The location is perfectly situated near downtown Daphne, and a short drive to Fairhope, Mobile and the white sand beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The community also offers private bay access steps from the front door to view the stunning sunsets of South Alabama.

This cute cottage on a private street offers three bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and an en suite bathroom with bathtub. The other two bedrooms share a hall bath, also with a bathtub. The second bedroom has 1 queen and the 3rd bedroom offers a bunk bed for the kids with a full on bottom and a twin on top. There is a cozy living area with a comfy sofa, a breakfast area and a fully equipped kitchen. Off the kitchen, there is a laundry area with dryer. Unfortunately, the washing machine is not currently in working order but we are shopping for a new one! There is also a built-in desk with wifi if you need to work from home. The property offers plenty of parking on the front gravel drive, a partially fenced backyard and a great deck to grill out your fresh catch from the bay!

We have included games, books, toys, hair dryers, a steamer, a booster seat and more to make this property as family friendly as possible! We love traveling with our kids and wanted to make it as convenient as possible for others to do so, as well.

Inside the gated entrance, you are steps away from deeded bay access provided to all properties on the street. It is the perfect spot to take your kayak or paddle board or just a cold drink and a beach chair! The sunsets on Mobile Bay are stunning!

We offer a keyless entry with a unique code for your stay and a Blink doorbell system with camera in case you need any assistance. You have access to the entire property, including the deeded bay access.

Our home is one mile away so we are readily available to help with any issues or offer any recommendations for our area. We purchased this property this year and it has been a true labor of love. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Perfect location as we were staying for an event at the Daphne convention center-literally so close! Clean! Easy check in! We unexpectedly needed an early check in and Andi worked graciously with us! No problems or complaints whatsoever!!

Great location, family friendly

It is a secluded property, but close to town. Gives that country feel while being in town. Close and easy bay access. Very family friendly. Cute decor and nice on the inside. Could be a little bit cleaner, but not dirty. Owner is very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend and/or stay again.

Wedding stay

My family was in town for a wedding and The Sandpiper was perfect for what we needed. Between events all weekend it was in a centrally located and quiet area. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and accommodated 6 adults comfortably.

The sandpiper

We loved our small getaway! It was the perfect place to stay for our Mardi gras ball near the Daphne civic center. It was super clean and had the cutest decor. I would love to stay again!

Disappointed

Booked a 3 night stay, left after one night. Not as advertised and uncomfortable accommodations. Beds hard as a rock and squeaked with any movement. Shower doesn’t drain and end up standing in a bathtub full of water. Dryer advertised in multiple locations in listing but out of order. Asked for partial refund from host with no reply. House is protected by a gate but gate pad with obvious passcode. Did not feel secure or safe in the location. I have never left a vrbo early until now.

Family-friendly, great place!

We booked the Sandpiper for my son and his young family to stay in while they were visiting from out of state. The location is perfect, close to everything but tucked away in a secluded spot. The house was just what they needed! Perfect for a small family, so kid-friendly. Love the decor! Andi was super responsive to any questions we had. A+++

Wonderful little gem

Such a pretty house, close to the main road for shopping, Walmart, Aldi, Walgreens, CVS. Close to downtown Fairhope. Very comfortable house and kid friendly, my grandson loved the bunkbeds and toys! We will be back.

Beautiful

Obviously, the house has recently been remodeled, and is beautiful inside! The location is perfect for day trips. We even went to Pascagoula, Mississippi for dinner! We HIGHLY recommend this property, and would return often, if we didn't live in Maryland! Thanks Andi!!

We had such a lovely time staying at the Sand Piper. It was so clean, smelled wonderful, and was decorated so beautifully. Andi was very quick to respond to messages and recommended some wonderful local restaurants. Stayed with my mom and sister and baby but hope to bring the rest of my family back one day!

Sand Piper Retreat

Perfect getaway from the daily hustle and bustle, and yet steps away from Main Street restaurants, Recreation Center, Library, Tennis and Pickleball courts, Museum, hiking trails, and much more. Located a few steps from the Mobile Bay shore to enjoy the views and sunsets and only a few miles away from the beautiful town of Fairhope. Owners/Hosts were very gracious and accommodating. Highly recommend this property, especially if you are in need to decompress and spend quality time with family and friends.

Andi was a wonderful host. Directions to the home and to enter were very clear and easy. The home itself is well-appointed with homey touches and sparkling. Andi was very kind and checked on us during the severe weather alerts and told us where all the emergency supplies were in case they were needed. We would definitely go back.

Totally adorable and quiet

Super clean. Darling house. Very well remodeled. I love the vintage tiles in the bathroom and super cute wall paper. Very comfortable set up family friendly. Bring your bug spray. Lots of trees. You’re in the south. Bring your favorite pillow to level up comfort.

I left my job in education in 2023 after 12 years and my husband and I purchased this property as our next venture! We love traveling with and without our kids and wanted to make this property as family friendly as possible to make travel easy!
