Great place close to UNC Wilmington

This is a great unit in a neighborhood that is 10 minutes away from UNC Wilmington. It would be great for a visit for a tour, family weekend, or orientation. We had dinner at the Oceanic Restraunt at Wrightsville Beach. (I recommend that, too.) The house is convenient to the beach, as well. The home is comfy and beautifully furnished. The owner was responsive and helpful. I would be happy to stay here again.

Awesome Stay!

Let's start with the location. The property is situated in a very peaceful neighborhood, super convenient—less than a 10-minute drive to Walmart, Target, Food Lion, Starbucks, and loads of restaurants. It's also less than 15 minutes to Wrightsville Beach. Pro tip: Go to the pier parking if you've got young kids; it's my recommendation. Access 2 is quieter but a bit of a longer walk. The home itself was clean and packed with amenities. There were some small signs of use, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. The backyard is fenced in with plush grass, a covered porch, grill area, and an awesome fire pit—perfect for making s'mores. There's a TV in one of the rooms and in the living room, and the WiFi was solid. Lastly, the owner was fantastic. They checked in after our first night to make sure we had everything we needed—definitely deserving of a 5-star review. They really care. We'll definitely be looking to stay here again on our next trip to Wilmington!

Has Potential, But Needs Some TLC

I was excited to stay in this rental, as the photos on VRBO showcased a bright and fresh space. However, upon arrival, the home felt quite different—like it could use a bit more love and attention. One of the first things I noticed was the strong perfume from plug-in air fresheners in every room, which was overwhelming. Additionally, there were visible signs of wear, such as large water stains on the bathroom and bedroom ceilings, holes in some of the older doors (including the bathroom door), and black scuff marks on the bedroom closet doors. The two chairs in the living room were noticeably stained, and there were dirty marks on the ceiling as well. It was clear that updates had been attempted, but there’s still quite a bit that could be done to bring this home to its full potential. On the plus side, the large yard was a highlight, providing ample outdoor space. However, on windy days, traffic noise from the main road could be quite noticeable. This might not bother most guests, but for those sensitive to sound, it’s worth considering. The real standout of my experience was the host, who was incredibly responsive and kind. When I accidentally left my medication behind, they went out of their way to mail it to me, which I truly appreciated. They also requested photos of my concerns and seemed receptive to feedback, which speaks volumes.I genuinely hope this rental receives the extra care it deserves because it has great potential.
