Welcome to The Bouman Cottage! Our brick, fully outfitted, year-round cottage is 200 yards from both our private association park on Lake Macatawa AND the Holland State Park beach on Lake Macatawa. PLUS only 1/2 mile from the Lake Michigan beaches at Holland State Park and 1 mile to Tunnel Park Beach.

Our cottage sleeps 6-7 comfortably: 2 bedrooms (1 bedroom with queen bed; 1 bedroom with full/twin bunk; and queen sleeper sofa bed in the living room)., 1 bath with ceramic tile shower stall, complimentary washer/dryer, 58" LED TV, WIFI Internet access, TV, DVD, shaded, fenced-in yard, large deck, picnic table, Weber gas grill, campfire pit, attached 1 stall garage with large parking area. Recently updated with new flooring, new interior paint and comfy furnishings.

You can walk to dinner at the new Playa Tacos restaurant, Down the Hatch party store or visit the historic General Store.
Enjoy dining, shopping, catch a movie, or get an exercise run in beautiful downtown Holland with its renowned heated sidewalks! The Riley Park trail system is also on 3 miles away.
30 minutes to downtown Grand Rapids' many attractions.

Rental period is from SATURDAY TO SATURDAY ONLY during June, July and August otherwise we have a 3 day minimum for off season stays.

Great Place to Vacation

What can I say that hasn't been said? If you are looking for an affordable nice vacation, this is it! We definitely would recommend this place. The house in Holland was everything that the owner and other reviewers described. It was just as he listed. It was clean, it was near everything, water, park, beaches, hiking, bike trails, fishing, food, general store and ice cream! ect... The yard was great for eating out, grilling, bon-fires and playing games. Our family of 4 enjoyed all of the above. We were able to do laundry and stay cool on hot days and watch movies and popcorn on nights with our younger grandkids ages (7 and 9) Who loved the bunk beds. Bob and his wife were very attentive to our needs and very accommodating. It was a Great vacation! Thanks Bob

Great little cottage

We had a great stay at this quaint little cottage close to Lake Michigan and Macatawa. Comfy beds and couches, kitchen stocked with lots of cooking things, breezeway was a great landing zone for beach stuffs, yard and picnic table great for family meals. In walking distance to many things and biking distance to most things. Host was very easy to communicate with, and check in was super easy. Had a wonderful time in Holland with great accommodations.

Can't beat the location

If you like Ottawa Beach (and who doesn't) this cottage is for you. Our kiddos love the sand and freshwater waves at Ottawa, so being so close to the beach, soft serve ice cream options, and Lake Macatawa meant that we were enjoying times at the places we love and less time getting to/from them.

Ideal Laid Back Lake Michigan Cottage

This little cottage provided all we needed for a great stay at Lake Mac/ Michigan. The house is comfortable and has all the little amenities for cooking and doing laundry. Bob, the owner, was very attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed the well-maintained yard and deck, as well.

Great vacation home

This vacation rental experience overall was amazing from start to finish. First of all the location is perfect, walking distance to the beach, beautiful trails near by.We totally enjoyed morning runs/bike rides to Tunnel park. The house was very very clean and ready for us at our arrival, it had everything we needed and more, the A/C was a great plus on those hot summer days. The back yard is pretty nice. Wonderful location near Lake Michigan

Bobs place was Dutch clean and perfect for what we needed. We took our bikes and rode to the state park. Walked to restaurants and ice cream shop. Thanks Bob!

Anticipated our needs

My family loved the cottage. It was a perfect place to have quiet time with my granddaughter. Bob anticipated our need for a.high chair and was very responsive to any calls we made. The location was good too. Just around the corner from the state park but still close to downtown activities in Holland. I hope we have a.rweason to return soon.

Clean and Welcoming Vacation House

Cozy home, great location, wonderful hosts

Had a wonderful week in Holland. House was very quaint and conveniently located near beach, trails, food, and Lake Macatawa. Owners were very friendly, responsive, and helpful during our stay. Make sure to walk the Mount Pisgah trail loop just up the road. Do it in reverse towards Holland State Park if you’re looking for the challenge of going up the 239 steps rather than down! Would highly recommend staying here, and hope to go back again.

Great location

Very convenient getting to the state park beach; the house is right next to the rail trail. Riley trails aren't too far away for mountain biking or hiking either. A nice little 2 bedroom with everything you need.

Loved this cute little cottage!

We LOVED our stay. The owner was great to work with! The house was clean and very lovely! The location was great for our family. We did a lot of biking and there is a trail to get on right at the house. The porch and backyard were great for our young family. We played a lot of games in the back. We loved eating on the picnic table outside and loved the shade trees all over!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage in Holland Michigan. The cottage was very nice and clean and met our needs magnificently. We really enjoyed the extras such as a large screen TV, a nice patio deck with BBQ grill, a fire pit. We will return next year. Bob the owner was very gracious.

Cozy home away from home. Perfect location!

A perfect home away from home with all of the amenities that make vacationing fun! Comfort meets convenience, as it's located within walking/biking distance of many great attractions. Two air conditioning units kept us cool during the day, while the fire pit in the back yard allowed us to toast marshmallows during the evening. We actually purchased bicycles for the whole family this year knowing that we can store them in the attached garage without worry. I love the spacious fenced in yard, with beautiful trees. We hope to vacation here every year.

Awesome rental

Such a cute, convenient place! Ideal location for beaches and activities!! Loved the bike rental around the corner and state beach down the street! Tunnel park was also a fav for my 2 year old and only a few miles away. House is just right for a getaway and had a lot of things already provided. We really enjoyed our stay!

Holland Cabin Experience

My wife and I had a great time in Holland. The bike trails are awesome and if you can't bring your bikes, Cross Country Cycle will fix you right up. Talk to John. You will be in walking distance of two beaches and the sunsets over lake Michigan are really something to see. The cottage was very comfortable and met our every need during our stay. Bob (the owner) made sure we had everything we needed.

Holland cottage

We have been coming back here since 1992 and every year we have always had a great time. We really like the cottage. Its very cozy and neat as a pin.The location is great. We like to ride bikes and there are miles and miles of bike paths. The ride to see a sunset over lake michigan at the state park is a must. If you have a boat by all means bring it. There is plenty of room to park it at the cottage and a very nice dnr boat launch is only a half mile away. The patio is nice sized with a grill and picnic table and the fire pit to do smores at night is very nice too.Thanks to the Bouman family for all the great memories we have had over the years, We will see you in the summer of 11 again. I would recommend this place to anybody. Thanks

Holland State Park Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It is very clean and had a lot of the amenities we were looking for (air conditioning, cable, washer/dryer, grill, fenced in back yard with separate area for a camp fire and a plus for the 3 year old was a TV with a vcr so she could watch a movie during quiet time. If we were not adding additional people to our vacation next year, we would be going back.

I am a real estate agent with Five Star Lakeshore and have been helping people with their real estate needs in the greater Holland area for over 40 years. My family purchased this cottage in 1990 and we have been helping guests with their summer vacation plans since that time.
We also have used the VRBO family of companies for our own vacation rental needs for several years on our visits to Florida.

Why they chose this property

We bought the property as an investment in 1990 due to its close proximity to the Holland, Michigan State Park and Tunnel Park and their beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. The property also shares the use of our private association beach on Lake Macatawa allowing our guests a convenient place for their kayaks, SUPs or to anchor off their boat.
The state boat launch is 1/2 mile away.

What makes this property unique

We love to see our 'family' of customers come back year after year. Enjoy the day on the bike paths and explore or bring fishing poles and relax.
