About this property

Architect's duplex loft in the heart of the Marais

Our charming duplex loft is ideally located in the best part of the trendy Marais district in Paris, just steps away from the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the Centre Pompidou, the Picasso Museum, galleries, restaurants and shops. This recently renovated house has a bedroom with office space upstairs, a bathroom with a large shower, an open kitchen, a dining area and a living space with a convertible sofa that has a very comfortable mattress. It sits tucked away in the second courtyard behind a 17th century hôtel particulier and has its own garden space with outdoor furniture. You’ll love the light streaming in through the glass roof and the huge sliding glass doors that look out onto your private cobblestone outdoor space.

You enter the apartment by going through the large cobblestone courtyard, through a landmark building into the second courtyard and then through a hallway that leads to the ground floor duplex loft.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, multi-function oven, induction cooktop, refrigerator with freezer and all of the cooking equipment you’ll need.

The living room has a comfortable convertible sofa with a real thick mattress for two that you’ll definitely get your sleep on if there are four of you. There’s a flat screen TV and of course free WiFi and telephone. Feel free to browse the books in the huge bookcase next to the stairs.

The all white bathroom has a 90cmx90cm shower, a washbasin, a toilet and storage.

The bedroom is upstairs and has a Queen size bed (160cm x 200cm), a desk and storage for your clothes and luggage. A curtain can be pulled to close off the sleeping area if you need to sleep in the dark.

The outdoor space is the icing on the cake. It’s private and makes for a lovely view. It’s equipped with a table and chairs as well as lighting that makes outdoor dining a pleasure.

Clean sheets and towels are provided.
The weekly cleaning fee is 100 Euros. Extra cleaning services are available.
A baby bed is available upon request.

Sweet little space
Beautiful space with glass walls and skylights, in an inner courtyard setting. Well laid out and has everything you need for a comfortable stay - The stairs are a creative solution, but are not for folks with mobility issues and take some getting used to. We look forward to staying here again next time we are in Paris

Quiet and quaint
It was really good. The bathroom could use some improvements and someminor upkeep but overall a great stay in an interesting and hip loft.

Hip and convenient
Great loft apartment through two magical and rustic courtyards. The apartment is tidy and convenient. The space is probably best for a couple. The steep uneven stairs could be difficult for some people but it was fine for us! Thanks!

What a great location! It was quiet at night, perfect for sleeping. Easy access to great cafes, museums and art galleries. Jennifer was very easy to communicate with, she made it a very pleasurable experience!

Coming back again and again...
Just wonderful! Quiet in the heart of the coolest place to be in Paris. Wonderful abode, well designed (you have even an Eames lounge chair!) and the glass ceiling that allows you to see the sky and the chestnut tree that the building is under. There is small patio for outdoor dining, if desired. A gem that I love coming back to.

Great location but needs upgrade.
Owner didn’t share the status of construction on The adjacent roof which begins at 8:30am. Apartment needs an electrical upgrade, new privacy curtains and window pane replacement (broken windows.) Limited (none) instructions on using appliances. And very very large spiders!!

Great location, showing a little wear & tear
The apartment is in a great neighborhood and working with Jessica was very easy and she was very flexible. As others have noted, the property is starting to show some wear & tear and could be updated. Also, we had a larger group next door who continued to party after coming back from the bars and it sounded like they were in the apartment with us. Could have just been that they were particularly loud or the walls were a bit thin.

A great location for experiencing the Marais neighborhood. Great room and close to shoos and metro. Jessica was wonderful and easy to work with.

Cute and convenient, but not well maintained
This property is in a very good neighborhood with lots of nice shops and restaurants. It is a ten-minute hike to the metro. The property needs refreshment. The loft bed is up a narrow stair, beware older folks. Wi-fi goes on and off, mostly off. Owners were genial on line but not present until day 4 of 6-day visit. Not recommended for comfort lovers. Our first VRBO experience and probably our last.

Marais escape
I reviewed this loft last year (I think "hideout" was in the title) and after a return visit, stand by my very positive prior review. The place was clean, gorgeous, and as unique and lovely as I remembered. The neighborhood is vibrant and active, whereas this space takes you away from the bustle. Jessica was kind and responsive. The difference this year was that we brought our two kids, 12 and 10, and that made it quite cramped, especially the bathroom. I would most definitely stay here again alone or as a couple, and recommend it highly, but probably not with the kids. That said, our family had a wonderful time in Paris and created memories we will cherish forever, including our mornings and evenings in this beautiful, luminous space.

Clean, comfortable
This is small but comfortable with a tiny charming garden. The glass doors to the garden make the space seem bigger. Fairly centrally located. I walked everywhere. I couldn't find pots so that I could cook and I couldn't figure out how to lock the sliding doors to the garden. I loved the amount of light.

wish it had lived up to the pictures
needed to be cleaned, and the glasshouse effect in hot weather is not pleasant (2 fans isn't really enough to cool it off). the patio had fallen dried up leaves in June so what's up about that? landlord really nice and area good but.....

Intriguing location, patio makes it special
For two people (not more) this makes a nice introduction to a part of Paris we did not know at all—3rd arrondissement, the "Haut Marais," and only a short walk to the 2d, 4th or 11th. The location rather than the interior space is what is memorable here: on the ground floor, way at the back of one of those 17c hôtels particuliers that you normally would not see unless someone invited you in. It is so far back from the street that it is extremely quiet. The use of the small space has been nicely thought out. Besides the skylight there is a little outdoor patio through the glass doors at the foot of the stairs: this is where we spent most of the time, usually with our breakfast or apéritif. The neighborhood is now crowded with galleries and clothing boutiques in a way that its older residents must regret, but there is a lot to look at, and just 2 steps away is rue Bretagne which has all the neighborhood shops you would want (plus a good bookstore). The living space is not the attraction here—the bed is set into a closet space that you have to clamber into (behind the blue curtain in this photo), the kitchen is strictly minimum; when we arrived it had not been cleaned as carefully as you would do if you lived there yourself.

Great Marais Location
Quiet location that's close to everything -- we walked everywhere. The place was well stocked with the stuff we needed. Maybe some extra blankets / pillows would be nice --but we really enjoyed our stay. The stairs were fine once you got used to them -- but maybe not the best for anyone with mobility issues.

Exquisite Hideout
Gorgeous inside and breathtaking window and skylights. Highly private feel. Truly a special and stunningly beautiful place. Its aesthetic is not particularly Parisian and its privacy makes you feel "away from it all," not in the middle of Paris (even though you are) which may make it more desirable for some visitors and less for others. We were ready for this and loved it. Neighborhood is vibrant, beautiful, central, and very walkable. Bathroom is small by US standards as has been said, especially the sink. However kitchen sink is right nearby and plenty large. Bed was very comfortable and had a skylight directly above. There was a shade but we loved it with the shade open. Stairs take a moment to get used to but are no problem for anyone of average mobility. The place is perfect for one or two. There is a sofabed which allows for two more so it could work very well for a tight-knit family or very close friends as well. Jessica provided a wonderful personal, detailed list of favorite restaurants and things to do. There is some construction noise though not super loud from the building next door during the day. Luckily when we were there sunrise was around 8 am so it was never a major problem for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Stylish Parisian Experience
Terrific neighborhood and location in a secure building. Very comfortable apartment for 2 people. The space has wonderful light and is modern in decor and feel. We had prompt responses from the owner with regard to renting and no issues during our stay. There is construction finishing up on a neighboring building (this seems to be occurring city wide), otherwise it was exactly the quiet get-away in a bustling city we had in mind. We loved the cozy, curtained sleeping nook! There was easy to find nearby dining, boutique shopping, bottle shops and groceries as well as quick access to the metro and bus lines. The main common areas were undergoing updates while we were there as well and starting to look nice by the time our stay ended. We would love to return - we would recommend this apartment.

Charmantes Apartment in super Lage
Helles, sympathisches Apartment.
