An urban oasis!
Extremely comfortable getaway in the hustle and bustle of Gastown. Building is very secure with great urban views. Close to lots of fun shops, bars and restaurants. Hope to visit again soon!

The Good: It's in Gastown, so there's lots to do, see, and eat. Transport options are plentiful. Architecture is varied and interesting. It's a cheap place, comparatively? The Bad: I get that a warehouse converted to apartments lets us imagine we're starving artists in the big city, complete with exposed brick, giant wooden beams, and so on, but dang, the place was noisy. The developers clearly wanted to maximize their profit, so it doesn't seem like much, if any, soundproofing was installed. The upstairs neighbors had a fondness for rearranging their furniture between 20:00 and 03:00 all while doing windsprints. There were three coffee pods when I arrived. We mentioned it, were told they'd bring replacements, yet no replacements arrived. The next point has more to do with Expedia's site than the place itself. It seemed like we were booking a hotel room, based on the site. Upon booking, I started receiving emails from vrbo. Not the worst thing to happen, but I was hoping for a front desk to at least drop my luggage off with when I first arrived. Instead I had to message the host to see if I could arrange something. They said they'd message me when the cleaners were done and it wasn't until I messaged them again hours later that I was told they'd been in meetings and forgotten. The place was clean (i.e. probably vacant to begin with), so I could finally get in. The Verdict: If you get a really good price and sleep easily and heavily, this place would be awesome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gastown loft. The loft's style and amenities were top-notch, offering a comfortable and chic experience. A major perk was the secure parking, ideal for compact cars. Located in Gastown, it provided us with easy access to downtown's numerous attractions and various dining options. We highly recommend this loft as an excellent alternative to the usual hotel options.

We really loved this loft! Cozy rustic/industrial feels that really fit the Gastown vibes-open concept, full kitchen with necessities, comfy bed & huge soaking tub. It's in a great location, esp for a first time Vancouver stay! Located in the Gastown area with only a quick walk to the downtown area; close to the water, lots to do & see! Gastown had an intimate historic/antique feel, perfect for us as we appreciate the quieter, low key setting. Food & drink: (#1) Di Beppe Caffe – morning latte & pastry that felt like being back in Rome (less than a block from the loft); LOCAL Public Eatery, L'Abattoir, Steamworks Brewery, Blarney Stone, & Gastronomy (all in Gasworks area) for great food & drinks! Places to visit - Downtown, Stanley Park & the Capilano Suspension Bridge (unique outdoorsy experience, esp during Canyon Lights). Notes -1) bath tub took a long time to fill, but worth the wait, 2) parking on arrival–instructions don't include that you need to access the loft first, get the key fob & then use the fob to enter the garage (#1 on fob); use back alley off Columbia; black rollup door on left (even when door us closed you can see that it goes underground); unload car 1st then back into the spot (suggested if you drive anything larger than a Mini Cooper; we drive a Subaru Wagon for ref.). There are homeless in the area but they didn’t bother us at all. If you are familiar with big cities, it's definitely no worse if not less noticeable than other big cities.

Great place.
A beautiful space to stay, very comfortable and as expected. A little crazy to check in. The instructions need to be clearer. Adding push 1 on the fob to open garage would be nice. Parking is really tight. I have a mid sized car and it was way tight. Only took the car out once. But parking here is a must in this part of town. The homeless are harmless, I’ve lived in NYC and Los Angeles, these homeless are drug addicted, smoking and drugged out right in plain sight; it’s terribly heartbreaking. The upstairs neighbors were doing who knows what on the floor at 7 am on the weekend and after a night out it was way too early to be making that much crazy noise. I banged on the ceiling to no avail. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was super comfy. I wish they would fix all the holes in the walls from previous stuff hanging in the wall. Also to have some sugar and creamers would be a nice touch for the coffee and tea. However, overall this is a great place and I already tried to book it again but it was taken. C'est la vie! If you like modern, cool, hip, this is a great place.

The loft is on the edge of a concentrated homeless population and the amount of drug activity was shocking and scary (do not walk around in this area at night). Additionally, the washing machine was not working - it filled with water and would not spin or drain so I was forced to rinse our clothes in the bathtub. The tub's water pressure was so low that I don't know how it would be possible to ever fill the bath to actually use it as intended. I contacted property management who responded the following day that they would call someone to fix it but never heard back about it or my request for alternative methods to have laundry done.
