Great Historic Location

Was immediatly impressed with the history of the hotel. What a unique location. The checkin process was easy, and, although not a guarantee, we were able to get in a couple hours early after driving overnight from Wisconsin. Georgetown is a perfect place to stay if you are skiing, hiking, or looking to learn about the area!

Wonderful Historic Hotel

The St James was a wonderful place to stay while we were on our Colorado Snowboarding trip! We stayed in the two-bedroom Penthouse Suite. The beds were comfy! There is a well-stocked kitchenette in the suite, so we could make our coffee in the morning before we headed to Loveland. There is a larger full kitchen downstairs that is also available to use if needed. The suite was spotlessly clean, and both bathrooms have plentiful hot water! Both bathrooms were stocked with great-quality shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The larger bathroom downstairs also had robes for guest-use. Parking was super convenient in the back and check-in was super easy. My husband and I both remarked that we wished we could have stayed longer than our two-night reservation.

Cozy apartment

A former hotel, now housing several renovated apartments, with a shared common kitchen (but no living room) on first floor, is a very comfortable spacious place to stay,(with stairs) about a 5-10 min drive from the highway 70 (depending on weather), with parking spot. Very comfortable beds! It was a little hot at night and there was a sign saying not to touch the thermostat. Noise carries throughout the building. Communication with hosts is by text message. Nice place to stay.

Charming location in town

Our family of 3 stayed in the penthouse suite, which was the perfect size for us. All of the rooms are very charming and quaint. The downstairs has a kitchenette with dishes/cutlery, a small fridge, toaster and coffee maker. There is also a downstairs full bathroom and a bedroom with a very comfortable king bed and tv. The upstairs bedroom has a (also very comfortable) queen bed with large screen tv and another full bathroom. Downtown shops and restaurants are within minutes of the hotel but the location is still very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and plan on staying here again the next time we visit Georgetown.

Sweet Spot, Super Homey and Clean

This is a great location in the center of town and owners have gone above and beyond to make the place inviting and comfortable. There were lots of extra amenities like ample cookware, coffee makers, blankets etc., and the kitchen was stocked with fresh coffee and snacks and even cream for coffee. You'll feel very at home here and super high marks for cleanliness! I stayed in the attic bedroom which was probably the least comfortable and updated of the rooms we booked as an extended family, but nevertheless we very much enjoyed our stay here.

Cozy and convenient!

My husband and I loved the convenience of being able to walk to dining, shopping and entertainment in mere minutes! The full kitchen and full laundry facilities were great for cooking dinner on our own schedule and cleaning dirty clothes after long hikes at the many nearby trails. We really felt like it was a home away from home!

What a find!

This historic inn was perfect for our group trip. We ended up having the whole place to our group of friends and family. The host was readily available to answer questions and make our stay comfortable. We loved this unique inn. It is in a great location, right by the adorable downtown area of Georgetown. If you have mobility issues make sure you request a room with a walk in shower. Some of the rooms have claw tubs with the shower. It may be hard for some to manage stepping in and out.

Family weekend getaway

The property had lots of charm, and was very clean. We came with children and adults. Everybody was happy! I would recommend more large fans being placed around the unit. Also, it was advertised that there was a smart TV and there was not, or there needs to be better instructions how to access it if there was. There was only a VHS player, which was a live saver for the children. The house was stocked with everything we needed! We would stay here again.

This house is a gem

This house is right downtown Georgetown. It’s quirky, it’s cute it was perfect. The beds are fantastic and what I loved most of all was the bedding. You have to keep in mind this building was built in 1875, so there are going to be a few minor issues with a house this old, but honestly that’s what gives it character. The floors slant in a few places and all of the windows don’t open, but I promise this house has so much charm to it that you want these minor quirks to be a part of it. I would suggest better fans than what you have to help move air around when it’s warm. Our only complaint was that someone in the neighborhood allowed their dog to do their business near the door - not once but twice. I’m hoping the ring camera picked up the owner of the dog. We will most definitely come back and stay. The charm of this building is so unique and offers everything you need while staying in Georgetown. The Wi-Fi is excellent. The renovation you have done is great. Thank you so much for having us as your guests. We truly all loved it.

The St James Hotel is almost open! Request your dates and I will get back to you on availability.

Why they chose this property

This recently updated, cozy rental will bring you back to the days when Georgetown was the world's capitol of silver mining and the town was call was often called the Silver Queen. Georgetown is a picturesque time-capsule-of-a-town that’s nestled into the mountains, just 45 miles west of Denver on Interstate 70. More than 200 Victorian-era structures still stand here — making it one of the best-preserved 19th-century boom towns in the American West.

What makes this property unique

First built in 1875, this historic building had a store located on the first floor, and living quarters on the second, but then quickly became the Intercontinental Hotel. It had a number of names, through the years, but most folks remember it as the St. James Hotel or more recently as the Dusty Rose Tea Room.
