The Marshall Cottage, your home away from home

The Marshall Cottage is a 1915 historic home that has been lovingly updated with a modern mid-century vibe while also keeping true to the home's originality and offers opportunities to relax and unwind. Relax while star gazing around the cozy gas firepit outside, soaking in the claw foot tub, or enjoy morning coffee on the front porch. For working guests and travelers, there is a private workspace/office that is laptop friendly with deskspace and wi-fi. Our cottage is within walking distance to bakeries, small cafes/coffee shops, restaurants, and brew pubs. Western University is a short 4-minute drive, and there is easy access to Hwy 34 or Hwy 20 for OSU and U of O events. Several waterfall and wildflower hikes are within an hour's drive, as are some of Oregon's best wineries, and historic covered bridges.

Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen that features stainless steel appliances, filtered water and ice, bar sitting area for 4 and a large dining room table. The living room features an electric fireplace (non-heating), a 50" Roku TV, surround sound, and a cozy nook for listening to music or reading, and a replica 'to scale' Christmas Story leg lamp that is showcased in the front window for your (and passerby's) viewing pleasure.

The king bedroom features black out shades, a memory foam king size mattress with pillow top cover, organic cotton sheets, luxurious pillows, and a soft duvet. An antique wardrobe is also featured in this large and relaxing space. Enjoy the ambiance of the electric fireplace or enjoy your favorite show on the 40" Roku Smart TV. Charging ports are available on each nightstand for guest convenience and there is also easy access to the fully fenced backyard that features a garden and gas firepit.

The queen bedroom features black out curtains, a queen-sized memory foam mattress, pillow top cover, organic cotton sheets, luxurious pillows, and soft duvet. There is a 40" Roku equipped tv, and wardrobe/luggage racks. Charging ports are available on each nightstand for guest convenience.

The outdoor backyard living space features a fully fenced area that has a gate lock for extra security. A gas fireplace with seating is perfect for relaxing in the evenings and there is a grassy area to enjoy as well as a flower and herb garden. Enjoy freshly grown basil, mint, thyme, and tomatoes while in season.

The mudroom/laundry room is well equipped with a soaking sink, a washer and dryer, and a starter pack of laundry detergent as well as a folding table, iron, clothes steamer, and full sized ironing board.
