MoonLight Kai, Oceanfront Condo at Kaibo Yacht Club Phase II

“Moonlight Kai” is a fully equipped, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo located in the heart of the Cayman Kai community. It is part of the Kaibo Yacht Club Phase II Complex near Rum Point on the spectacular Caribbean island of Grand Cayman.

The complex sits on a pristine, white sandy beach that is caressed by the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.

“Moonlight Kai” offers the privacy of the second floor, with 180 degree elevated views looking over the pool, the beach and out to the sea. This provides a backdrop for peaceful and romantic sunsets that are the very definition of what Caribbean evenings should look and feel like.

Leaving your sandals (and worries) at the door, look beyond the open plan layout of kitchen, dining area and lounge, through the screened lanai, and to the beach and sea beyond.

Relax in the ambience of the bright modern interior and luxurious Italian furniture. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and granite island to prepare your favorite meals and choose to eat in the dining area, on the couch or at the table on the lanai.

With a master en-suite bedroom overlooking the water and a second bedroom with two double beds, Moonlight Kai can easily accommodate 4 adults and 2 children.

With no extra charges, guests have access to wireless internet, satellite TV, use of an Apple TV (using your own login ID) and a landline phone for local calls.

Moonlight Kai guests also have private access to a storage unit that holds a coal BBQ, 2 bicycles and 2 Stand Up Paddle Boards for their use. Normally various snorkel gear is available but this can't be guarenteed, with guests being responsible for hygiene and cleanliness.

Enjoy the well maintained infinity saline water pool and hot tub just steps from your door and surrounded by hammocks and lounge chairs.

Walk along the child friendly beach and dine at the Kaibo Bar and Restaurant, experience local and international cuisine while listening to tropical music.

Visit botanical gardens, dive or snorkel in the clear Caribbean water and marvel at the stingrays and tropical marine life.

Cayman Cai- Best Area on the Island!

We had a great stay! The people are friendly, the tours are beyond expectation, and the weather is great! Our place and the condo complex is the best place to stay-great views, calm water, so many fish!, wildlife, pool and hot tub. Quieter and more peaceful side of the Island. We stayed in the same condo 8 years ago-we never do repeats, but this met all of our wants and needs.

Stop looking, just book it!

We absolutely loved our stay. Restaurant with great food right next door, excursions pick up on the dock at the restaurant, the area was family friendly and quiet. We rode bikes to Rum point which took less than 10 mins and was an easy ride. The location cannot be beat! We went to bio luminescent bay on our own with paddle boats. It’s right down the road and so worth it!!! Star fish point is again right down the road maybe 5 mins and is a must do. Walk down the path to the end for the best beach and many star fish. Stop looking any place else and enjoy your stay. The kids basically had the pool to themselves all 6 days.

Paradise!

This location was Paradise! Absolutely loved how quiet it was and hardly any people! We have stayed at resorts where you can never get a chair near the beach or pool, it was not the case here! Most days we had the pool to ourselves and there were many chairs and lounging areas available! We loved that you provided paddle boards, a grill, snorkels, beach toys, and items in the unit! We also left some items for the next ones to use. Very friendly people around the area and a beautiful restaurant and cute coffee shop next door! It is a long drive from the airport and big grocery stores so plan your grocery shopping if you plan to make meals before you get to the VRBO. We really enjoyed Rum point, they had great food also! And star fish bay was within walking distance! We made family memories to last a lifetime! Thank you!

Clean, relaxing and beautiful!

We absolutely loved our stay at MoonLight Kai! The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view and great extras like snorkels, bikes, and paddleboards. The beach is great and our kids loved the pool. It is a quiet area without the tourist chaos and we never had any problems getting chairs or having plenty of space on the beach. We loved wandering the beach to see starfish during the day and hermit crabs at nice and eating dinner next door at the yacht club. Everything about our stay was excellent!

Good Choice

When we got to the condo it seemed like it took forever to get there. It was about 45 minutes from the airport. I knew it was on the other side of the island from 7 mile beach but didn't realize there was only one road and it was farther than I thought. That being said that was my only complaint. And actually this was not really a complaint because after a couple of days the distance didn't really bother me that much. This location is really beautiful and quiet. It was very relaxing. The yacht club next door was handy. The restaurant on the second floor is really expensive though. The restaurant downstairs was more reasonable and a lot of fun. The condo itself was great. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need and more (except for a teapot but the coffee pot made a fine substitute :)). The mattresses are very comfortable as is the couch. We made use of the kayak and the grill in the garage. I didn't like that the balcony has a screen that cant be opened, I like to lean over the railing to look out. But now I am just nit picking! Overall I would recommend this place if you don't want to be on 7 mile beach. Oh, and rent a car... and bring plenty of money because this is an expensive island! Also Christine was great with responses, she was available to me and answered emails within a couple of hours every time.

Everything You Could Imagine

This is a tucked away gem. Located on the north side of the island. If you like peace and quiet this is the condo. Condo was everything as described and more. The view every morning is breath taking. If you don’t mind the 45-50 Mu drive to town and a 30 min drive to the store this will be the place. We had so many activities scheduled so driving into town was no issue. When visiting the Caymans we will be sure to stay at Cayman Kai again. Thanks for making family memories for us.

Moonlight Kai was perfect

Jan 27th to Feb 3rd 2018. Beautiful place, furnished, equipped very nicely and exceptionally clean. Bonus was the basket of big beach towels. We loved taking the provided cooler and beach chairs to starfish point. Other highlights where riding the bikes to Rum Point, feeding the frigates at Tukka and bioluminescent bay. Would love to stay here again.

Peaceful paradise

My family and I thank you for a wonderful week! This place was exactly as advertised. Everything we needed was there. The condo was clean and comfortable. The Apple TV was a nice luxury. The beach and pool (and hammocks) were right outside the door, and the water was as close as the photos. Excellent place to get away, with or without children. And Christine (the owner) responded very quickly to my questions. There is a nice casual beachside bar/restaurant next door, and Rum Point is a mile down the street. We would also recommend "Over the Edge", another casual bar/restaurant a couple miles down the road. Would definitely be happy to rent this place again on our next visit!

Beautiful Property

This Condo is gorgeous ! Owners have decorated beautifully and the views off of the deck and out of the Master Bedroom are amazing! Very clean and updated. It is hard to to categorize this property any other way than perfect. We cant wait to return !

Great condo great location

Loved it. Beautiful furnishings especially for the beach. Would have liked if the TV's in kids room and master would have been functional. That's the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars! Thanks for having us!

A true vacation!

This is a well-equipped condo with everything our active family needed to enjoy a week in the Caymans -- we highly recommend! Of course it was also a great place to sit on the screened-in porch with a beverage, enjoying the Caribbean breezes and doing nothing!

Relax in the sun

Moonlight Kia was excellent for me and my husband. It was modern, clean and there was as much light inside as there is outside which is perfect for me. It came equipped with everything we needed and ended up having good food options, initially a concern for me. We loved Kurts Corner Cafe, Over the Edge, Viviones, The Food Truck and your best bet for consistency at the yacht club next door is the pizza and French fries. We loved the pool, kayak and having Star Point and Rum Point so close. I want to emphasize again that our condo and the complex were clean. This is much appreciated.

Everything was great

I really have nothing negative to say at all about my recent stay in Grand Cayman. All 4 of us had a wonderful time and the condo and location were great. Of course, you will definitely need a rental car to make the most of your visit. We played golf, snorkeled, went deep sea fishing, used the hot tub, rode bikes, and went kayaking. There is a great restaurant just next door. We hope to go again next year. I've been to a lot of different islands in the Caribbean, but this was the best.

Great Vacation Getaway

This is a great condo! You will have everything you need here, including peace and quiet! The condo is so well equipped-everything including glue, a bike lock, ice packs, cooler, blenders, DVD's, nice beach towels, etc.! The beach at Kaibo is not a swimming beach (in my opinion), but lovely none the less, with Palm trees and beach chairs. The pool is great, and if you want the beach, Rum Point is 2 minutes away. We love Rum Point! The beach, the food and drink, the people watching, th e snorkeling, SUPing. It can be crowded, so if that is not your thing go to Starfish Point. Also a 20 minute drive and you can be at Morritt's, where my husband and son went diving a couple of times, while my sister, daughter and I hung out at their pool and beach. Our only 2 problems were that we didn't receive any info on how to get into the condo, and we didn't know which # it was. We found it (a sign saying Moonlight Kai outside the door), and it was still being cleaned, so we got in. I called the number given, but no one returned my call, and I never heard from anybody the entire week. That was odd, and next time I will get that info before leaving home. The other issue was not having enough bath towels. There were 5 of us and we were constantly doing laundry-a small thing, but a few extra sets of bath towels would have been nice. MOOLIGHT KAI is a suberb value, and we loved our time there! Don't hesitate to book if you are looking for an easy, relaxing, and happy vacation!

Wonderful place to stay

Just came back from this gorgeous place and ready to sell everything and move down to the islands. Absolutely loved the condo was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Already looking at next years vacation and ready to plan 2 weeks this time. It was on the other end of the busy town but it was perfect, very peaceful and quiet was so nice to just sit on the deck at night and enjoy the pool and beach. Quiet, peaceful and off the beaten path!

My wife and I chose this property to spend our one year wedding anniversary. With this being our first trip to the Cayman Islands, we went into this somewhat blindly but after careful consideration choose the Rum Point area. The condo was approximately 35 - 40 minutes from the airport and well off the beaten path. By that I mean away from crowds, heavy traffic and other tourists, which is exactly what we were looking for. FYI, no matter where you stay on the island, a car rental is a must. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area of Cayman Kai as well as a couple of grocery stores and the best snorkeling around not to mention plenty of other activities, i.e. kayaking, jet skiing, paddle boarding, etc. The condo itself was spacious, clean and equipped with wifi, laundry, kitchen utensils and satellite TV. The pool and beach was steps outside the door as well as a pretty decent bar/restaurant next door to the condo. If you are looking for quiet, peace and tranquillity on your vacation, this is the place. Last, but not least, Maia (condo owner) was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end with the property booking. We will definitely be going back to the Caymans!! Best area on Grand Cayman

We recently returned from GC staying at Moonlight Kai, it was so wonderful. Condo is so large and extremely clean and well appointed. No matter where we went or what we did we wanted to rush back to our beach and pool. We ate in most nights as the kitchen is amazing and we at on our screened balcony. You can keep 7 mile beach area. We loved Rum Point which is right around the bend. Great snorkleling. And of course we kissed stingrays. Great times. Synda and Paul Crawford

Great Stay at Moonlight Kai

We enjoyed our week at Moonlight Kai. It was our last family trip before our daughter went of to college this fall, so it was a great relaxing getaway for us! The condo was very well appointed, was well maintained, and any minor issues we had were addressed by the management company. We did not realize how busy Easter weekend was on the island for the local families who camped at the adjoining public park, as well as many parks around the island. We did not have any problems with it as the condo facility put up a non intrusive fence and had security guards present to make sure that people not staying at the condos did not have open access to the facility. The amenities of the condo were great! We enjoyed the use of the kayaks, bikes, and the grill. We noticed that there was snorkeling equipment (we brought our own) as well as fishing poles. I think the owners do a great job in making you feel at home here! The view is spectacular from the porch and we spent many mornings enjoying our coffee together. A car is a must when staying here but we enjoyed having one to go explore many parts of the island. We really enjoyed our morning snorkels and sunsets at Starfish Beach. It gets very busy after 10 am at Starfish Beach as many boat and jet ski tours arrive then. We also enjoyed Stingray City and a trip into Georgetown. Get online to get a schedule of cruise ship arrivals before making plans, this helps you navigate around during less busy days and times. Tourist traps we noticed were definitely making a trip to Hell (it is mainly 2 small buildings and one is the post office) and the Pirate Caves in Bodden Town.

Paradise at Grand Cayman

We cannot express enough what a wonderful way to experience the Caymans than a visit to MoonLight Kai. This beautiful condo with ocean and Caribbean views was everything we had hoped for. The condo is exactly as it had been described on HomeAway. The owners were extremely helpful to insure we had a wonderful time. This gem of a condo was perfect for our stay for the family of 5. We had everything we needed to be comfortable, with all the comforts of home within a Grand Cayman charm. It is very airy and spacious with well equipped kitchen. The decor was charming, and everything was very clean. We definitely took advantage of all the MoonLight Kai had available to us. We especially enjoyed the trip to Sting Ray City and snorkel with dozens of friendly sting rays - the Rum Point is very close by. We also explored the island from tip to tip with our rental car. These auto rentals offer pretty nice cars not unlike in the states and it definitely suited our needs (be prepared to drive on the "wrong" side of the road!). Be sure to take a day to see the downtown with its plethora of wonderful duty-free shops. It was great fun to drive around the island and see the Turtle Farm, visit Seven Mile Beach and other beautiful beaches there. The beach we spent the most time at was at Rum Point. It's just minutes from the condo, and beautiful! If you choose to dine out there is plenty to choose from. We had a wonderful time.

My Island Escape

If I was to rate my experience at Moonlight Kai, I would say it was beyond my usual expectations and previous experiences. It was exactly as what was described on the website. It was definitely the Island escape that provided the comforts and benefits of a high-quality vacation. Moonlight Kai condo is a main-stay on my to-go-to list. The condo is located in the central building, on the second floor which has the privacy and romantic atmosphere of being on the private side of the island. Everything is very clean and well put together(internet, big screen tv, kitchen, collection of furniture, etc.)There are two bicycles, which allowed me and my friend to go anywhere we pleased. There is a bar and restaurant nearby. Not to mention, famous Rum Point in just a walking distance nearby. To be completely honest, the main downside of my experience was that I miss the place after I was already immersed into the experienced so deeply. I left the island with the feeling of being right at home. I would highly recommend Moonlight Kai to anyone who is considering a great place to go for vacation! Regards, Henry

With family connections on Grand Cayman and many years of regular visiting, we finally took the plunge and decided to purchase our own little piece of paradise !!
Finding Moonlight Kai available for purchase from the original owners (who bought in 2005), Christine and Kevin are excited to continue providing guests with the same high quality and high value experience they have come to expect when renting this property.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the location, the raised elevation and 180 degree views overlooking the pool, marina and the beach. The condo is well furnished, clean and practical in layout.
The previous owners have obviously taken a lot of care of the property and concentrated on making the vacation experience of their guests something special to remember - this is exactly what we want to do for our guests and so building on this great reputation.

What makes this property unique

The location speaks volumes, but the little hidden extras associated with renting this property is what we think enhances attraction - the separate storage area that houses the charcoal barbecue and the snorkelling equipment. Being able to take the bikes or the two Stand Up Paddle Boards to see the scenery from different viewpoints is also special.

We think of the two double beds in the second bedroom as unique and allowing guests to have real sleeping arrangements without the inconvenience of pull out beds or fold out couches seen in similar condos.
