Had a wonderful stay! Very clean, great location and host. No issues or complaints, would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a nice place.
Absolutely loved this place! Home was very nice and clean. The owners were very nice and helpful. Also had table with brochures and maps like a visitor center. There is a trolley stop within walking distance and home was close to town so we walked most of the time. We highly recommend staying here!
Wrapping up 3 weeks on the road, this bunkhouse / bungalow was exactly what we needed.
The owners thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, convenient, and stress free.
We enjoyed our late afternoons / evenings on the front porch in their quiet neighborhood.
Easy access to downtown Deadwood, too.
Felt like home honestly. Super clean , brand new and very quiet. Had deer visit us every evening. Owner was a pleasure to talk to. Would recommend a hundred percent!
This house is beautiful and absolutely perfect. It has everything you’ll need except the groceries. Hosts live right next door so any needs would be met, however this home is so perfect you won’t need a thing. You are also very close to trolly stop. So no need for paid parking downtown. We will definitely stay here again!!!
Our family of four stayed here for a quick trip to Deadwood. The house has a lot of open space, was clean, and a great yard to play in. It was about a mile to Main Street so we walked it every day. It has a perfect little trail to walk there too. The owners were great people and there if we needed anything.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location was great for us. The house is very clean, comfortable, and in a quiet location. We will definitely check availability next time we want to spend sometime in the Black Hills.
The house was very clean, perfect for 2 people. The location was great. Away from the hussle of downtown but close enough to be there in a 10- 15 minute trolly ride. The trolly stop was a block away. The host couple were very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone wishing to enjoy Deadwood and the surrounding towns.
Great little cozy home. Close to everything we didn’t use the trolley but would have if we had stayed longer very convenient. Home had everything for a great stay in Deadwood. Decorated so cute and super clean. The hosts were welcoming and left plenty of info about activities near by. Loved everything and everything one would need and more.
Everything about this place was PERFECT… there was nothing that could have been any better… location was perfect to be able to see all the sights around Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfish, Mount Rushmore - so much to see and do… and great to come back to such a perfect place to rest and prepare for the next day… hope to come again in the future…
James and Pam's place was absolutely perfect for our 3-4 day stay in Deadwood. My dad used to visit the area annually for work but has been wanting to make it back for the past several years. With his advanced Parkinson's, we knew that travel would take some planning and that we would need the perfect place to stay/rest when we weren't taking in all of the sights. We wanted a "home base" that wasn't a hotel, but that was close to the downtown area of Deadwood while also being a great starting point for day-trips to Spearfish Canyon, Devils Tower, Custer State Park, and Mount Rushmore - James and Pam's guest house could not have been more perfect. The home was the perfect size for two of us, and easily accessible for my dad who uses a cane/wheelchair to get around. I slept on the pull-out couch, which was very comfortable, and my dad loved the Serta adjustable bed so much that he asked me to take pictures of the tags before we left! The kitchen was a great size for having coffee/breakfast in the morning, but would have also been great for cooking full meals. The trolley stop being at the end of the street was amazing for us as well; I was able to drive him to the corner, park the car back in the driveway and walk up to meet him (it's literally 3 houses away!). We loved having James and Pam next door and, while they respected our privacy, they were also eager to help when needed and made us feel so incredibly welcome. If we make it back, this is 100% where we will be staying!
We can’t say enough great things about this place. The accommodations were excellent. The location was excellent. The place was clean, smelled great, and felt like home. And the owners were amazing. They greeted us, checked in with us, but never bothered us or made us feel uncomfortable or unwanted. They congratulated me on my half marathon run. We will 100% be back!
This was a wonderful property! It was close to
all we wanted to do, short drives to Mt Rushmore, The Badlands, Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon The cottage was cozy and comfortable and had all the amenities anyone could ask for, and very clean. We would definetely stay here again. We really enjoyed all the history in the town of Deadwood and enjoyed the re-enactments of Wild Bill’s final card game and the trial of Jack McCall, shoot outs in the street, and exploring Mt Moriah Cemetery.
It was a great vacation!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks stay. Great location. The house was just perfect. So clean and cozy. Jay and Pam are wonderful hosts. (loved the treats!) Thank you. And we look forward to another stay.
Our recent stay in Deadwood could not have been better... The cabin was absolutely perfect...Everything about it was spot on !!!.. From the time we checked in until we checked out .. The cabin was spotless and very cozy... And the owners spoiled us with fresh baked goods... we could not have had a better experience... Would highly recommend... We will definitely be back.. And the location to downtown Deadwood was perfect...

About the host
Hosted by Jay and Pam
My wife and I were both born and raised in Deadwood. The Black Hills has so much to offer. The trails to hike, lakes to fish, woods to hunt, and golf courses to conquer are just a few of the activities we love. Deadwood offers so many great events and concerts. Sharing our area with others is a passion we both enjoy. And you can't beat the people. South Dakotans are friendly and helpful. We love our town!
