The property was Great! It was close to town, but far enough away for a little peace and quiet. The place itself was very clean, comfortable, and great for a couples weekend retreat.
Irene is a great host, nice and accommodating. The place is exactly like the pictures, very clean, neat and well decorated. I definitely want to go back and I'll recommend it to my friends and family.
We were in the area to celebrate a wedding and could not be more pleased with the accommodations. The location was ideal for us and would be for anyone visiting the Catskills area. It is a perfect set up for a longer stay than we had, and we hope to be able to visit longer another time. We thoroughly enjoyed this serene, quiet and comfortable setting and the thoughtfulness of our host.
Nice little cottage near Woodstock and the Catskills. Host had a family emergency but was still responsive to help us get in and get situated. The loop hike near North/South lake, up past Artists Rock and down past Ashley Falls was one of the best hikes I've seen! Waterfalls galore due to recent rains (waterproof shoes a plus)
We had a great stay! We were greeted by a bottle of wine for us and a treats / a bowl of water for our dog. Our host was very communicative before and during our stay, checking in to see how our trip was going and recommending spots to check out when we inquired. The house and all that came with it were clean, the grounds were perfect for our dog to explore on leash and the natural light from the skylights were beautiful. It was easy to stop by the local coop and grab a few things for food prep that were easily utilized in the cozy yet fully stocked kitchen. Not that you’ll want to do too much cooking, there are so many great food options close by. The cottage itself is a 5 minute drive to downtown Woodstock and between 15-30 minutes away from a multitude of attractions (Overlook Mountain, Opus 40, the Falling Waters Preserve, Mountain Top Arboretum and the Hessel Museum to name a few). I recommend bringing an extended leash for porch hangs if your dog is less than 25 pounds, there is a gap going around the lattice fencing that small dogs can slip under. Make sure to bring boots and bug spray, and mind the deer population! They are most active at dawn and dusk, so drive cautiously. Overall a wonderful stay in a gorgeous part of the Hudson Valley I will definitely book again in the future.
