The condo is very close to the golf course, which is a good catch. You literally can just walk to the course in 10 minutes. It also has an easy access to the beach from the back door. The view from the balcony is also attractive.
I checked in a 4:20 PM to a very unclean, un-serviced unit. Apparently the cleaning crew never showed. Piles of towels and sheets, dirt, lots of food in the fridge, a bottle full of tobacco spit, horrible smells, etc. I contacted the host and he said he would have it cleaned ASAP, but then, 2 hours later (6:30 PM) he informed me he was unable to get it cleaned and he has bad luck with his cleaners. So, at that hour, no way I can get anything on Seabrook, so I had to get a hotel in Charleston, 40 minutes away. Trip ruined, was only there for 2 nights. I have pictures and texts between the host and I which I forwarded to VRBO customer service and the legal dept. The host promised a full refund but have not received it and its been 10 days. For the first few days he claims he is hiking at high levels with his kids and can't get on line. Now he says he is back in town and will get it sorted out with VRBO, but still nothing 9 days later. I have a VRBO case #, contacted legal etc. and intend to continue to fight this. I also have a dispute on my CC and have forwarded the details and pics to my CC company. This guy should not be allowed on VRBO. Now that I look back further, he has many other bad reviews, including a nearly identical story to mine.....stupid me.
A nasty and disgusting Villa, which I was not able to stay in for more than 4 days. I left /checked out 3 days before the official check out on JUL-8th.

Not as advertised
Location is great. That was the one good thing. Upon checking in, we were extremely disappointed in the property’s cleanliness as well as the overall condition of the property. The ceiling in the living room was peeling as well as the wallpaper. AC/heat vents had mold growing on them, the bed bag on the bedroom mattress had mold on it as well. The pillows smelled of dirty heads. The oven, stove, pots and pans and counters were greasy and not cleaned well. The worst part was the washing machine left full of water standing for enough days to have a moldy film on it!!
The entire interior of the property needs a major clean, paint and update. The upholstery on every piece in the property was stained and in need of replacement.
We replaced the key and left the property even though we had checked in after 9pm.
At this point, after requesting a refund I have not received a response.

Not Ocean Front; Did not understand that not being a Club Member meant no golf
Beautiful place. Not Ocean Front. Wish I had known that no Club Membership meant no: golf, no good restaurants.
Won’t come back.

Broken faucet, peeling paint, Miscommunication of Amenity access.
Broken bathtub faucet rendered main tub/ shower useless. (No baths). Popcorn ceiling peeling in main area has negative effect on cleanliness. Miscommunication with Amenity Card affected access to Lakehouse facilities.

disappointed
The condo was outdated, not very clean, needs painting, ceiling /walls peeling, musty, saw a very large water bug in the bedroom, one shower knob did not work, other shower very small, TV channels very limited, stains on the sofa. The only things about this condo that was worth staying there was the oceanfront view and location near Kiawah. Otherwise not worth the money paid.

We loved the location.
The dolphins and pelicans were wonderful, and dog friendly beach
We were pleasantly surprised by the location. The beach was nice, quiet and very natural. It was exactly what we were looking for. There were plenty of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. We even enjoyed the drives beneath canopy of the oaks lining all of the streets. The view from the balcony and the location of the house is most of its value. Inside the house was suitable/nice enough for the average couple or small family. There were some dusty corners and minor cosmetic things that should be done to improve the feeling and function of the place. FYI: if you’re planning on using the pool, you’ll need to get an amenities card when you check in.
On 9/29/2020, my wife and I entered this unit, and we smelled a musty, damp environment immediately. The 2 HVAC vents in the living area were black with either dirt or mildew, and there were two large water stains in the popcorn ceiling: 1 in the living area and 1 in the entry way. My wife’s asthma immediately began to flare. The master bed had plastic around it, and it had an old comforter with 2-3 bleach stains. We pulled up the bed fringe and revealed a box spring that looked 20-30 years old. The wallpaper is very old, fabric-like and peeling with stains in multiple locations. The kitchen wall has stains as do the base boards. We called and text’d the owner and left immediately.
We have pictures we can share as the online VRBO pics we viewed were very outdated (you can contact me via my gmail address at dave.northrup.sr).
The owner was very unresponsive but finally stated that he would travel to the unit to see it himself. After visiting it over a week later, he called and said he doesn’t give refunds but stated he would throw us a “bone” and let us have a ‘free’ week stay. When we declined, he said he was sure that we’d give the unit a bad review on VRBO (which this being our first review ever) but that he said our review would get lost in other reviews over time.
After traveling back to Mount Pleasant for the night, we found a very nice villa on Kiawah Island that was clean and updated with a ‘new’ feeling, for almost half the cost per night, and they allowed our pet, and it was a short walk to the beach.
Note that my wife and I have rented well over 20 villas on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands during the 27 years we’ve lived in the Charleston area, so this one was very disappointing in comparison.
Great experience renting from the owner. Location was perfect for our overnight while traveling between Savanannah and Clemson. Outstanding ocean views and sunset, the wildlife including deer sightings were a bonus!
This unit has a great view of the ocean from the balcony/deck and the living room. The bedroom is a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. There is wallpaper peeling in large strips in the hall bathroom. The kitchen and bathrooms are both in need of updating. The kitchen has minimal essentials for cooking. We enjoyed out stay here, but were somewhat disappointed given the price we paid.

Great location...Bare bones amenities.
My wife and I are last minute vacationers & first time Vrbo users w/ a dog, so we appreciated the property owner’s flexibility & working w/ us to get us in when the app didn’t allow same day bookings...However once booked & we were in the property, we could no longer gain communication from the owner to address concerns...We recommend vacationers bring everything they may need & note the apartment is on the 2nd floor w/ access via stairs only.
This was my first trip to Seabrook Island. It was a much needed winter getaway. The Island did not disappoint. Beautiful to say the least. The condo was sufficient for my needs. There are much needed updates... mainly the peeling wallpaper and stained ceilings. Furniture was comfy for a cozy getaway. The location was amazing. Less than a minute walk to the beach. Once the new boardwalk is complete (Between condo and beach) it will be even more convenient. Definitely a pet friendly location. Lots of dogs on the beach this time of year. Would consider a return visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ve stayed in multiple Pelican Watch units and understood their size but this one felt roomier. Unit was very clean and the overall process was very smooth. Will certainly keep this unit on our shortlist for future visits.
Stayed here twice this fall and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It is such a relaxing place with so much wild life to enjoy. We saw the dolphins playing just feet from us as we walked along the beach. Saw numerous birds, a "pinto' deer that was half brown and half white and a beautiful male turkey. Just listening to the gentle waves lowered my blood pressure. It is close to so many attractions if you care to adventure out but I was perfectly content to stay on the balcony and just watch. When people tell you to go to your happy spot in your mind, this is where my mind goes. Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at this property! The views from the deck were gorgeous, it had easy beach access and the property owner was very accommodating
We took our Thai exchange daughter, her friend and our 6 year old son here over Memorial Day weekend and it was such a great time! The property was so much better than the pictures online so we were very pleasantly surprised to walk into such a lovely remodeled beachfront home for this reasonable price. Private beach, convenient easy access, all accommodations...it was all we could have asked for. Will stay here again!
