Winter Getaway

Had a great time staying at Charles’ place. My kids (5 and 3) loved the air hockey table and the front yard allowed for some great sledding. The location was exactly what we were looking for with easy access to Bromley, Wild Wings, and Manchester for outings. Would definitely come back.

Great stay

Perfect place for a small family gathering. We appreciated the two spacious gathering areas, and that the bedrooms were all off to the side away from the main spaces. Everything was immaculate. We hope to be back again!

Great stay

This was our second time staying here and we were just as pleased as last time. Ample space for our group of 12 to spread out and to congregate when needed. Half of the group spent time skiing at Okemo, but the other half was happily occupied on the grounds and in nearby Manchester. We may be back for a third time next year!

Amazing Property, Wonderful Owners

We booked both properties for a joint bachelorette/bachelor weekend. The owners could not have been more generous and informative. The properties were incredible- clean, well-maintained, and extremely user-friendly. We had an absolute blast; I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice VT getaway!

Great family friendly house

We stayed at the Littlebranch House with 3 families and skied at Bromley over NYE. The house and location were great, easy to get to the mountain and Manchester. We stayed in and cooked several nights, the house had all necessary cooking utensils. The downstairs room with the air hockey table and TV kept the kids occupied while the adults could enjoy sometime upstairs. Definitely would recommend! Charles was a pleasure to communicate with and very helpful.

Great house for a larger group

The owner was very easy to communicate with. Things were labeled at the house and instructions were very clear. The large kitchen and living area was exactly what we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need. Plenty of sleeping space. Lower level bedrooms don’t have a bathroom, you have to go up a level. Very minor inconvenience, was happy to have the 3rd bathroom overall. Downstairs space was great for the 18 year olds. Check in/out process was very easy. The trash process was by far the most convenient we’ve experienced in all our years of renting houses. There is a shed that has many trash and recycle barrels to accommodate the larger groups.

Comfortable and lots of fun.

LITTLEBRANCH – LARGE FOR FUN AND RELAXATION Littlebranch is a spacious house located on N. Main Street, less than two miles from the center of Danby and easily found by following the directions provided by the owner. The house sits partway up a gently sloping hill and faces mountains in the Green Mountain National Forest that can be seen over a driveway that is lined with shade trees. At the end of the drive at Littlebranch is a marble flagged patio that leads to a walk-in basement. After entering the basement featuring an entertainment and game room, a walk up a short flight of stairs leads in one direction to a suite of six bedrooms, including a master bedroom and bath, and in the other direction is a wide-open, single room, kitchen, dining, living room area. Around a corner is a quiet office retreat that overlooks pastureland in the rear and is furnished with a computer desk and excellent WiFi. A sliding door off the living area opens to a back yard deck containing a picnic table and a propane-fired grill. The kitchen area is equipped with modern appliances and a large island around which are stools - all ready to be used as a serving area or for casual eating. The dining area features a long table that comfortably seats 12. The living area has sofas and chairs, a stereo setup and a large plasma TV. The whole house is well-lighted and clean by any standard. The owner keeps the grounds well groomed and supplied the house with dishes, pots and pans and every kitchen utensil imaginable. Bathroom basics were on hand and, most important, in addition to those thoughtful considerations, the owner was on call to promptly and graciously attend to all our needs. We enjoyed blueberry picking and hiking in neighboring Dorset and a day at Bromley's Mountain Adventure Park. A supermarket and many restaurants from pizza, ice cream and sandwich shops to fine dining are in Manchester only 12 miles away. Alone, Littlebranch is a comfortable accommodation for a large group and, combined as a rental with the owner’s nearby Mettawee house, is a perfect location for a fairly good sized family reunion or relaxing vacation retreat. We, our children and their spouses and our grandchildren were thrilled with all that was offered. In our estimation, Littlebranch easily earned 5-Stars.

Fantastic house, great ski location

The property exceeded our expectations. Very clean, well updated. It was extremely comfortable for 12 people/4 families of all ages. The layout was great with a nice wide open common room and kitchen. Nice spaces for some to get away for a little more quiet (or noise). The location was just right for nearby ski mountains. Will definitely stay again.

Better than the pictures!

We booked this house for a ski trip with friends to Okemo. This home had more than enough space for our group of 12. Host was thoughtful, responsive and provided us with everything we needed for a great weekend. We wouldn’t have changed a thing! Highly recommend.

Very Spacious and Private

I very much enjoyed my stay at Littlebranch. There was a spacious kitchen and living/dining area; the beds (even the pull out couch beds) were very comfortable. And the location is very private and secluded so it's perfect for a relaxing getaway. It's ideal for someone looking for privacy and relaxation, or for hikers/trekkers, or for families looking for some family time. Ski resorts and summer activities in the Green Mtn National Forest are close by. I'd recommend it.

Perfect setting for our recent family reunion.

We just had a wonderful family reunion (12 adults and 11 children) at the two Mettawee properties. The description of the houses in the brochures and on the web site is quite accurate, making it easy to plan. Needless to say, the location is lovely and offers lots of privacy. The following pertains mainly to the Little Branch House. The marble entrance way to the basement is stunning and inviting. The house itself is well laid out, separating the roomy dining and living room area from the bedroom area. The large pieces of artwork found throughout the house are classy. The spacious kitchen is so well equipped that we ALL could eat at Little Branch without running out of plates, glasses or silverware. The six bedrooms are quite functional, furnished with hi-end bedding and decorated attractively. The air hockey table in the basement was a big hit with young and old. Since we rented both houses, the pool at the Mettawee House was available; it was an attraction for grandchildren and adults. To summarize, the two Mettawee properties were a perfect place to make our family reunion relaxing and memorable.

Peaceful Getaway

We had a wonderful time here at Little Branch.  We especially enjoyed the majestic 360 degree view of the Green Mountains from every room in the house.  We loved the open and spacious area in which we could watch a movie or just relax over a bite to eat.  We visited Rutland and Manchester which were close by.   The kitchen was fully supplied with everything we needed, and absolutely immaculate, as was the rest of the house. The beds were very comfortable and the mountain breezes in the evening were quite lovely. This was truly a peaceful place. Star gazing was an awesome experience....the night skies will take your breath away! We hope to return soon!!

Great Stay, and Plan to Return

Spent a long weekend at this house in Danby, Vermont with 12+ family members and friends. The location is off the beaten path, private and in a beautiful mountain location as described. All of the bedrooms are quite nice. There are rooms with themes - jungle theme in the bunk bed room, and a girls room with special touches, for example. Original art work displayed around the house. Our group spent Thanksgiving at the property, light snowfall made the grounds beautiful. The perfect getaway, for a family or group. House is nice and spacious. Great place to unwind - would return.

Why they chose this property

Welcome to Vermont! In the Green Mountains State, you'll find famous fall foliage, renowned maple syrup and the most snow on the east coast. But there is so much more too: enjoy local food at restaurants and farmers’ markets, savor the revered beer culture, meet world-class artisans, explore endless recreational opportunities, rejuvenate at the spa, learn about noteworthy historic sites and above all, please stay awhile… Vermont’s attributes will continue to reveal themselves to you in honest and inspiring ways.

Vermonters are known for their independent-thinking, friendliness, sportiness, and resourcefulness. The state’s residents love the land and are committed to preserving, as well as sharing it. Vermont’s agricultural traditions have created open working landscapes amid a backdrop of mountains, many of which make up the nation’s first through-hiking trail, the Long Trail.

While it’s easy to spend days simply taking in the scenery, it’s even more rewarding to become a part of it. It’s easy to explore backs roads and well-maintained trails by bicycle. Go for a run or walk along busy downtown paths or quiet villages with covered bridges. Drop into a halfpipe on your skis or snowboard and share the trail with local Olympians. Cast a line in a lake or stream, or relax beachside at a pristine state park. Whatever the day brings, the night is sure to deliver a solid night’s rest.

In Vermont, one thing is beautifully certain: The seasons will change. And with that change, so does the landscape, the recreation, and the way of life. With every season comes new opportunities to explore the world around you. Welcome to a state that is truly never out of season.
