WE LIVE UPSTAIRS: This space is entirely separate with its own entrance. It is worth mentioning that Chili and I do live upstairs. We’ve never had any issues but thought it worth sharing upfront. There are two layers of soundproofing and insulation between the floors, and we provide a white noise machine for your added comfort.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS: If you have more than 2 in your group wanting to stay, we also offer camping in the field. There is a pull-out couch if you have one (possibly two) adults, or kids.
- Please ask if you’re interested.

HOSTED BY: Scott and Chili - dedicated to providing 5-star stays. We’re here to take good care of you!

***HOUSE RULES***

1. SMOKING ALLOWED, but OUTSIDE ONLY. You may smoke on the porch, but not in the house. Please keep the door shut. We will impose an additional $250 charge if we smell smoke inside after your stay. You are responsible for your butts.

2. Quiet hours after 10 pm to be good neighbors.

3. SHOES/BOOTS OFF in the house will keep the inside in top condition. This one is a big help!

4. We have a very sensitive septic tank. Please only flush toilet paper and, well, people stuff. We've had problems in the past and it's an ordeal to remedy.

5. Please FOLLOW CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS in the Guest Manual before departing.

SO MUCH TO DO NEARBY!

Downtown restaurants, shopping, and brewery: 10 -15 min walk away, (1min drive)
Hiking Trails: Appalachian Trail, Lover’s Leap, Pump Gap Loop, Spring Creek Nature Trail, Laurel River Trail (all within 10 min)
French Broad River: 5 min
Whitewater Rafting: Multiple guides in the area

*ADDITIONAL GUEST SURCHARGES

1. No Party Policy: has announced a ban on parties. Planning a party at this property will result in an early checkout and possible fines up to $1,000.

2. $30 Towel Convenience Fee:
Please use the black washcloths for makeup removal provided in the bathroom to avoid the $30 convenience fee for bath towels permanently stained.

3. $250 Undisclosed Pet Fee: We love animals but this is a pet-free listing. If an extra pet is discovered on the property, a $250 additional fee plus any damage will be charged, and the pet(s) must be removed immediately.
Guest access
You'll have access to your suite and the grounds.

Other things to note
Also on the property is the historic Octagon House. We think it was built around 1860. It’s currently being updated - sorry no tours yet!

Relaxing Getaway
Scott was an excellent host and his cottage was very clean and comfortable. It was nice being in close proximity to the small quaint town of Hot Springs! Enjoyed relaxing on the deck and listening to the creek below. The cottage was perfect for our relaxing getaway. We definitely would like to book again in the fall! Thank you!
