Complete Scam

BUYER BEWARE - SCAM OPERATION - We booked this property in early August so we could attend a family event. We first booked the location for 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen and a laundry unit. The owner did not respond to us and Vrbo sent us an expiration notice. The next day, the owner contacted us and said that the unit we attempted to book was no longer available but she had a unit available which was a 2 bedroom with no laundry but at the same price, the reason being it was high season. We agreed to the change but felt like it was a bait and switch situation. We paid our deposit on time and the remaining balance on time. We received notice from Vrbo that we were booked an confirmed. The Vrbe App showed the same. We never heard from the owner. Our final payment was made 1 month before check in at the location. When we went to check in, the front counter said that there was no reservation in our name and that we had been scammed. We arrived late at night and had to adjust quickly to find other accomodations. The owner tried to blame us for not responding but still accepting our money for the deposit and final payment. Long story short - BUYER BEWARE.
