About this property

Peaceful Lakefront Cottage - near Traverse, Interlochen, Dunes, skiing, Pet

Gorgeous views of pristine lake from raised deck with comfortable outdoor sectional with covered patio outdoor dining below! Floating dock, non motor lake, fishing, nature. Cozy cottage nestled in a peaceful neighborhood on a natural lake with lily pads. After you have tried your luck at fishing, venture off to nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes for world class hiking and views, delicious restaurants and entertainment in Traverse City or downtown Beulah for shopping and restaurants and gorgeous beaches, Crystal Lake beach, Interlochen Arts Academy for a concert or the beach, Hiking, Golf, Drive in Movie nearby, Wine tours, Crystal Mountain Skiing, or right downtown Lake Ann offers amazing coffee and food, ice cream, great pizza and a family/dog friendly beer garden with live music!

Guests will love waking up to a beautiful lake view framed between gentle pines and watching the loons swim by from the upper deck on the comfy sectional with a warm cup of coffee and decide what to do that day!

We offer a canoe or paddleboat to explore the beautiful lake. The crystal water will reveal fish and a population of turtles and sometimes a swimming muskrat or two. Sanford Lake is famous for the Loons that like to nest here . The lake is natural, soft bottom, so we recommend swimming at the sandy neighborhood beach, and not off of the dock.

The furniture was chosen to be comfortable and welcoming. There are many sleeping options.

The downstairs offers another living space with a 'game area' vibe. There are many boards games to chose from as well as fuse ball table and xbox for entertainment.

There is something for everyone nearby from State Parks, Golf, Live music, Skiing, Snowmobile trails, Hiking Trails, Drive in movie, Clean arcade, bowling, laser tag, Wineries, Restaurants, Shopping, Dune hiking and more!

Lovely

A beautiful little house on a beautiful little lake. We really loved our stay and were sorry to leave. The lakefront is wonderful; we enjoyed the fire pit (with all the wood provided) and the paddle boat. The location is ideal -- equidistant to Esch Beach, Good Harbor Bay Beach, Glen Arbor and the Dunes -- and Traverse City is nearby as well. Neighbors quite close but very quiet and respectful. Neighbor kids were quite taken with our pup and left us some treats for her! Overall, wonderful!

Cozy cottage by the lake

This cottage was clean and welcoming. The owners did a great job of communicating prior to our visit. It was easy to find and stocked with all of the essentials for a long weekend. The lake was quiet and the colors were lovely. We had a great weekend in the region.

Peaceful cabin, attentive owner

Very quiet peaceful stay. Ample amount of amenities inside and outside on property. Owner was so helpful and quick to reply to any questions or issues. Owner went out of her way for a request I had made and she initiated and completed that request above expectation. Great place for our dog to run and play. Private lake was quaint and was perfect for fishing and catching bass. We caught bass from our dock and from several points on the lake where you can stand and fish.

Great stay

The property was as described in a beautiful setting on a lake, near the town of Lake Ann where we found delicious baked goods from The Bread Lady. ❤️ We had difficulties with the house entry system, but the host was responsive and promptly helped us with alternative entry. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cute, clean home for future vacationers!

Great place, Great host, Great location !!!

I was looking for a getaway for my family for the holidays and this was perfect! it had everything we needed was very clean and was close enough to the places that we wanted to visit. Traverse City was close by and also skiing at Crystal Mountain and also Great Wolf Lodge with escape room and bowling. Snowmobile trails not far away was a plus. Really enjoyed having my morning coffee and looking out at the lake even though it was winter time. I slept like a stone. Everyone had a great time. This place is very special and just what we needed. We will be back!

Peaceful place on a small lake.

Lots of positives about this location--close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City and the charming town of Lake Ann. The home is small but adequate. Beds are very comfortable, upstairs great room is spacious with a nice tv,showers have good water pressure and the deck is a great spot to hang on the deck and look at lake Sanford. Nice firepit area by the lake--only downside is the lake isn't safe for walking or swimming in due to the less than stable lake floor. We were ok with not going in but might have rented elsewhere if we knew this ahead of time. That being said the host was super responsive and very accomodating. We explored the surrounding areas and hiked in Sleeping Bear and took a nice sunset cruise on Grand Traverse Bay with Nauti-Cat. The town of Lake Ann-a 3 minute drive--is very quaint with a really nice micro brewery, Lake Ann Brewery which has no food but is right next to Stone Oven which has great pizza and a full menu--the Brewery has live music most Summer nights and you can take the food from Stone Oven to the picnic area and listen to the bands playing there.. We really enjoyed our 5 days here. The property is dog friendly which is a big plus!! Despite the limited lake access we found great beaches in the Sleeping Dunes park where we brought our dogs to play and swam a bit too. The water is crystal clear and the sand is a warm blonde color. My wife found two Petoskey stones at Good Bay Harbor beach. all in all a lovely area with very friendly people.

My husband and I fell in love with Traverse City Area years ago! We love all of the beaches, and little fun towns with shopping, great food and entertainment. Our kids attend Interlochen Academy of the Arts for music, and we discovered Lake Ann! It is beautiful and quiet, and yet modern at the same time!

Why they chose this property

Lake Ann has the greatest small town feel ever! The Lake Ann Grocery is from the 1800's and has everything from snacks to hardware and the friendliest staff! The Red Door coffee could be in any busy urban center with its amazing coffee, and delicious creative lunch counter food. It also has a very cozy sofa seating area in the back and a gift shop!
The Stone Oven pizza is literally some of the best pizza I have ever tasted and the fun beer garden and Lake Ann Brewery hosts a fun family friendly outdoor music!

What makes this property unique

We are close to great amenities in every direction! Lake Ann downtown, Crystal Lake and downtown Beulah, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Downtown Traverse City with restaurants, shopping and beaches! Skiing at Crystal Mountain Resort, Interlochen concerts, Interlochen State Park Beach, and Interlochen Golf!
