The space
In addition to the fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances and a dining table that seats 8, there are 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The living area has a large, solidly made queen sofa bed for extra guests, as well as several other comfortable pieces so that you may enjoy the fireplace and TV. If you need to do laundry, the cabin is equipped with a washer and dryer for your use.
Heading outdoors, take in the mountain views while sitting in a rocker on the huge deck that runs the length of the house, grill your favorite steaks, or hangout by the firepit in the side yard. There are also 2 picnic tables in the yard so that the family can enjoy a nice outside meal together.
If you are looking to get your heart pumping then take a scenic walk up or down Rocky Top Road right down from the cabin.
Guest access
The guests will have access to the full cabin, except for the owner's closet, which will be locked.
Other things to note
This home is about a 20 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and expansive Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has several restaurants), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City, home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday.
Downtown Waynesville (10 mins) has a large variety of shops, restaurants, and breweries.
For Ski Lovers………Cataloochee Ski Area is 5 minutes down Soco Road. Skiing begins mid-November and continues through March. You can visit their website to get ticket & equipment rental information.
Within an hour's drive, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery, America's largest and most visited privately-owned home, and tons of great restaurants and micro-breweries.
If you love waterfalls, about 1 1/2 hours away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
Finally, within 1 hour 35 minutes is Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
