We're BACK to the Quiet Paradise!
How to update things from last year's review? Well, first, we obviously came back. The property is so awesome, as are the owners, we just had to do it again this year. And this time, we brought others, who also loved it. 2 weeks without a cell phone ringing, but feel free to watch a movie or show via Netflix on the smart TV. Listen to the rain on the metal roof. Enjoy a ride up Mt. Washington on the Cog Railway. Go for a swim in one of the nicest lakes in Maine AND New Hampshire. Have dinner in North Conway with the rest of the tourists....but remember, the best place is HOME, at Birch Hill. Already working on figuring out next year's weeks, so yeah, we'll be back AGAIN!

Pictures don’t do it justice
Our family had an amazing time at Birch Hill! The pictures in the listing don’t do the house justice - the house is very well done and has everything a family could need for a fun and easy week. The lake is beautiful and all of the ‘toys’ are perfect, from canoes and kayaks, to the fire pit, grill and all the games and books. We’d love to make this an annual trip!

It was clean, lovely, and serene. The house is beautiful, perfectly kept. We had so much fun with the boats on the lake. It was a lovely, quiet vacation spot.

Birch Hill Was Great
The house was immaculate and stocked with all the little necessities. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay and would not hesitate to come again. The kayaks were great and Lower Kimball Pond was fun to explore. Was able to visit some of the sites from my days at Camp Ettowah. (Summers 1965-1969) Great hiking close by. Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your home!!

Lakeside paradise
We spent a wonderful week at Birch Hill relaxing at the lake and enjoying this very comfortable vacation home. We found everything we could possibly need and were particularly impressed with their book, puzzle, and game offerings. The two canoes and two kayaks were fun to use during our stay, and the shed full of sand toys, floats, noodles, whiffle bats, and tennis equipment was like a treasure chest for our son. Birch Hill’s location made for a great home base for exploring the White Mountains, with plenty of outdoor dining options in nearby North Conway and Fryeburg. Highly recommend Sherman Farm and their delicious ice cream and entertaining goats! Would definitely return to this beautiful and well-appointed home. We’re already missing the screened porch and the call of the loons.

Peaceful and relaxing!
Lovely property stocked with everything you could need for a relaxing week away. The views from the dock are breathtaking, and we loved having access to the provided canoes/kayaks. One note is that the property is just across the road from the lake itself (very short walk), but there is a private area and dock to use (this didn't detract from our experience, we just didn't realize this when we booked).

Peaceful and lovely!
Our family spent a long weekend away in October at Birch Hill; the leaves were in full color and the lake was still and quiet - such a beautiful place to just be together. The house was tidy and comfortable, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out to explore and fish. Though it was a bit nippy, my daughter and I did take a quick dip in the water; I can imagine it would be splendid in the summertime! We would definitely recommend and rebook!

Relaxtion and fun defined!
Another 2 weeks at Birch Hill. Seems to be the plan each year so why mess with something that works so well. This year? Lots more time spent at Birch Hill than the past two. Why? Because we just didn't feel the need to leave. We had plenty of everything, since the kitchen is so big with LOADS of storage. My sister decided to do some culinary experiments, which we both enjoyed the results of. We did get in a couple of days of Netflix watching during the couple rainy days...so we could both catch up on shows we'd missed. We did get out a few times for lunch and dinner with family and friends in the area. We had a few relatives come spend a couple nights with us and they also totally enjoyed the property. Especially talking about the sandy beach by the dock and took advantage of the kayaks and canoes. Had a couple late nights out on the porch playing cards and talking. We are already looking forward to coming back again next year!

Wonderful!
I just returned from a week at Birch Hill, and I loved every second! The cottage is charming, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need. The lake is so close, and it is pleasant to sit on the screened in porch and look at the water. My sister-in-law's family came for dinner, and it was fun to entertain in this cottage! The family that owns Birch Hill is so nice to work with, and all of my emails were answered promptly. I have been going to the area each summer for the last five years, and this is my favorite rental, by far!!!!

Quiet Paradise!
The pictures do not do this place justice! My sister and I really enjoyed spending 2 weeks here in July. Great that we each had our own bathroom. The kitchen is HUGE! Plenty of places to just sit and enjoy the day. The front porch is really great! Definite plus during the buggy part of the summer. The lake? It's an easy walk down to the dock. There is a cool zip up tent near the dock area on a flat wooden platform. How cool to just sit and enjoy a beverage and watch the sunset, or read a book, etc. And this happens to be where you might get a cell signal. Not that you'll need it. Lots to do with swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc....or go enjoy North Conway, which is 20 min away. If you can, take the Cog up Mt. Washington!! The best part of it all? It's sooo quiet. You really do get away from things, but still have some pleasures there (internet/phone), etc. We will be back!
