Casa Canonica , Air condition&fans Between Toscany-Rome

Casa Canonica is a recently built house ( far away from earthquake area and built according to earthquake standards) with traditional old oak-beamed Umbrian stone.The house is Standing on the Hills of Todi, in the Tiber valley natural park, it lies at the center of one of Italy’s areas of greatest historical, artistic and cultural interest, and outstanding natural beauty.

Casa Canonica offers something for the whole family : playroom in the basement with football table and tennis table, lazy afternoons in the comfortable shade of the pergola area, relax by pool, hide in the olive grove …
Casa Canonica is a family home from home. We have designed to suit our family and we hope it will be good for yours too!
The Pool
Follow the garden path to the pool area and enjoy the views from the pool lounge area or sleep in the hammock while the kids enjoy the swings few steps away within olive trees.
The Surroundings
Monte Castello di Vibio, Spoleto, Perugia, Orvieto, Gubbio, Fonti del Clitumno, Lago Trasimeno, Lago di Corbara e Deruta are all within 45 minutes drive.
A 90 minutes drive will take you to the center of Rome

Casa Canonica
Upstairs there is an en-suite double room, a nice bedroom with 3 single beds (for kids!) and a third double bedroom that has its own access from the external travertino steps, and a second fireplace.
There is fourth bedroom on the ground floor with its own beautiful pergola, can easily be used as either two single beds or one double bed - just tell us before you arrive.
If you need a baby bed, let us know in advance.
We have one family bathroom with bath tub and separate shower on the first floor (+ the en suite), a nice bathroom on the ground floor with a great shower and a fourth bathroom in the basement next to the laundry.
The large kitchen on the ground floor is the heart of the house .There is also a big fireplace for the winter times.
A stone / bricks built BBQ area just outside the kitchen is the perfect complement to long summer Al fresco lunches and dinners.

Final cleaning (and linen&towels change) of 150 euro per week, to be paid directly to Fanny the houseekeeper.

Bella casa, bello posto

Superbe séjour dans une belle demeure avec vue imprenable, piscine gigantesque, lieu très bien entretenue. Nous étions 9, nous avions de la place, du linge en suffisance et les éléments de première nécessité et les personnes qui gèrent l’accueil et l’entretien sont d’une grande gentillesse. Les chambres sont très biens, le sous-sol avec Ping pong et babyfoot ideal pour les adolescents. A refaire !

Retour à Casa Canonica

Deuxième fois pour nous et toujours aussi formidable. La vue est incroyable et les moments en famille dans le superbe espace piscine restent inoubliables. La maison est accueillante pour une famille de huit personne et Fanny et Marcello sont toujours aux petits soins. Nous reviendrons certainement!

Fantastic villa and pool

Great villa - really spacious, well equipped and full of character. Beautiful views from the house and garden. Pool was perfect. The caretaker’s Fanny & Marcello were really helpful. A rental car is essential to get about but the roads were surprisingly quiet when we visited in early August.

A good getaway

The property is in a lovely location. Our family of 6(4 adults and 2 children) enjoyed our 10 day break, soaking up the sun, exploring the quaint towns in the area and enjoying the wonderful cuisine. We had the housekeeper cookied twice for us and each time, the food was delicious. Will certainly visit again. Kim

Lovely villa in the middle of Umbria

The Casa Canonica was exactly as promised on the VRBO netsite! The view was extremely beutiful, the place was peaceful yet near everything. We had plenty of room for six adults and one 3 years old. Every couple got a bedroom and toilet/shower of their own, and also the little boy had an own bedroom. It was very pleasant to sit on the outside terrasse and enjoy meals and the extraordinary view. On the terrasse we saw a big orange moon rising behind the hills. It was magical! We all - and most of all our 3-year-old! - enjoyed the pool life tremendously! Todi was about 6 km away and was really nice. We visited also Perugia and Orvieto and tasted wines in Arnaldo Caprai’s wineyard. There was so much to do and see within 50 kilometres around the Casa that one week was too short to see everything. Marcello and Fanny who take care of the house were really friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a dinner by Fanny one night in the house, and it was delicious. Thank you so much for this experience.

Settimana di relax

La casa si trova in un punto strategico per vedere le più belle località dell'Umbria: todi, Orvieto, Perugia. È ottimale anche in giornate torride come quelle capitate a noi: piscina con zona ombreggiata, enorme patio ventilato. Unico suggerimento potrebbe essere quello di prevedere l'aria condizionata anche nelle camere. Grazie a Fanny e Marcello ottima l'accoglienza e la capacità di capire le nostre esigenze.

Finalmente relax

Siamo stati molto bene durante il soggiorno presso la casa Canonica. Bellissima posizione in zona tranquilla con paesaggio stupendo. Marcello e Fanny sono stati carinissimi nel fornire assistenza e informazioni. Per fortuna il posto è sempre ventilato e non abbiamo sofferto per la mancanza di condizionatore nelle camere. Da consigliare.

Perfect spot for a relaxing holiday

We have just returned from 10 days in this beautiful part of Italy. We travelled as a family of 5 with 3 young children. The property is spacious and the pool and outside area are lovely. We spent many beautiful mornings having breakfast outside and the children loved the pool. The couple who look after the house were very friendly and on hand if you need them. Todi is a gorgeous hilltop town. There is a large supermarket 10 mins away. It is impossible not to relax here.

Traumhafte Urlaubstage

Traumhaftes Anwesen mit tollem Ausblick und grandiosen Pool. Alles vorhanden was nötig ist. Netter Empfang durch Fanny und Marcello. Beide standen uns für Fragen immer zur Verfügung- danke dafür. Wir haben traumhafte Urlaubstage in der Casa Canonica verbracht. Einzig die Moskitos haben uns geärgert.

Amazing place in the middle of olive trees

We enjoyed very much our trip to Todi Canonica. The house, the pool and the nature around made our family vacation very special. Marcello y Fanny were very friendly and always available for requests. This a fantastic house and the swimming pool is great! The perfect location for discovering Umbrien. We were 6 adults and 2 children, the house is really big and with very nice spaces to read, play for children and relax :)

Great place to stay

The booking process and communication with the owner Irit were smooth and timely. We had a warm welcome from Marcello and Fanny who were helpful throughout the week The villa is charming. The location is delightful with far reaching views of rolling hills . The pool was a great size for a family of five and, although unheated, felt surprisingly warm. There was always a gentle breeze which was welcome in the 37 degree heat of late July. We had a few table tennis tournaments in the basement which was nice and cool. If I could make one change to the villa it would be to have better mattresses and pillows The nearby town of Todi is beautiful and we had good food at Ristorantes Cavour and Scalette both of which have stunning views on their terraces ( book to avoid disappointment). There is a stunning waterfall, Cascata Delle Malmore, about 40 mins away which is well worth visiting. We also loved Perugia, the regional capital which has great shops as well as architecture!

Mycket trevligt boende.

Vi har haft 3 fantastiska veckor på casa Canonica. Lite svårt med språket med fastighetsförvaltaren men viljan fanns. Lite långt till mataffär och restaurang hade varit helt perfekt om detta funnits på gångavstånd.

Lovely villa, awesome viewa

Our week at Casa Canonica was lovely despite unlucky weather. The views are spectacular, the beds comfortable and the pool is fantastic. Fanny and Marcello were lovely. Would love to go again when the sun is shining and without the road works which were unfortunately going on outside the house while we were there which was no ones fault but disturbed the peace and tranquility a bit and caused a power cut - but that was quickly sorted and the owner was very responsive and helpful when it happened.

Wonderful house in a beautiful setting, the pictures don't do it justice

Just back from a wonderful stay at Casa Canonica, with a trip to Rome added either side of the trip. The pictures don't do the house or its setting justice - but I think you have to be stood out on the hillside looking out at the Umbrian countryside with your own eyes to really appreciate it. The house is well equipped, and clean. The view out from the kitchen to the outside dining area is particularly special and we really loved the large kitchen table. The pool area is wonderful, we were worried that the unheated pool would be too cold but it was fine- particularly in the hot sun. Plenty of shady areas meant we had wonderful lazy mornings in and out of the pool, and no one got too much sun. We really enjoyed watching the clouds bubble up in the afternoon just as the day threatened becoming too hot, and then hearing thunderstorms boom around the valley. A short, sharp shower and then back to sunny afternoons - huge fun! Another lovely thing to do was stroll through the olive grove with a glass of wine. Todi nearby is a gem - and we visited other nearby hill towns including Orvieto and Cortona in Tuscany. By way of balance, we did find the bedrooms a little too hot (the fans in each room helped). We were reluctant to open the windows as we felt the shutters wouldn't give effective insect protection. We did get rather eaten alive by mosquitos! insect blinds on the windows would have helped. The basement games area is fun, but could be improved presentationally. All in all, Casa Canonica exceeded our expectations. Thank you Marcello for letting us stay in your wonderful house in Bella Italia!

Traumhaft!

Es handelt sich um ein traumhaftes Anwesen mit ausreichen Platz und einer gepflegten und teils neuwertigen Ausstattung. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter und Verwalter ist sehr angenehm und immer kompromissbereit gewesen. Wir können dieses Domizil nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Lovely pool and beautiful views.

The villa has easy access and is close to good road network. Supermarket is close and is of a high standard. The villa itself was very clean and quite well equipped. Outdoor seating is great for eating outside and comfortable near the poolside. The lounge is small for the number of people it supports but most time was spent out of doors. The upstairs bedrooms were very hot even using the fans that were provided. Good showers for all bedrooms. The pool is great even if not heated! The depth makes it great for swimming and was used by everyone. The view from the villa was superb and olive trees surrounded it.

Fabulous house in a lovely area

This house was pretty perfect. It is spacious, well laid out, well equipped, pretty and comfortable - we loved it. Its close proximity to Todi was a real bonus - what a lovely town to have on your doorstep. The garden was lovely, the views across the fields stunning and sitting on the bench, with a nice cold beer, watching the shooting stars was very enjoyable! The pool is a great size and the perfect temperature. The games room in the basement was a real plus - nice and cool and the kids (big and small) loved it. There is so much to do in the area. The couple who look after the house were lovely and helpful and it was a brilliant holiday.

Fantastic house in great location

We have just packed up and are sadly leaving Casa Canonica. What an ideal 'slow travel' location near unbelievably beautiful hilltop towns filled with great food and few tourists. We were two families with two kids each (8 and 5) and the house was the perfect size. The pool at the house was amazing during the hot days we were here and the house itself gets a constant gentle breeze. The covered Terrace off the kitchen was magical, especially at night Todi is beautiful and has some very good restaurants, and we also visited Orvieto, Assisi and other local towns, as well as a local winery. Overall, this house and Umbria in general is a great place to visit if you want a relaxing getaway replete with great food and wine. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic vacation in lovely surreoundings

Lovely house perfect for two families. The pool area are so nice - perfect with the lounge area in the shadow. Also the terrace for dining was really great. The correspondance with the owner was very smooth from the beginning and we received good tips for restaurants in Todi. The host couple Fanny and Marcello was so sweet and helpfull. The re is a good supermarket nearby with all you need. Tip: If you stay here don't miss to visit Peppucci Winery just a few kilometers away - a great experience. So in total this was a perfect stay and we can strongly recommend this house :)

Fantastic Villa

We stayed with our dear friends, two 13 year olds, 18 year old and two couples. This was the perfect reprieve that we needed after visiting Paris and Venice. We took day trips to Rome, Todi and Gubio. Loved the country side, fields of sunflowers everywhere, so relaxing, everyone had a wonderful time. Beds were comfortable, house was very clean, felt like a mini castle. LOVED IT and highly recommend it. The only down side is that it is about a 35 min. drive to public transportation.

Better than the pictures

Two families (5 adults, 2 teens) stayed at this lovely home. Fanny and Marcello were wonderful, attentive but unobstrusive. The house was spotless and absolutely beautiful as was the pool and grounds. Nearby Todi is an UMBRIAN gem and Orvieto was an easy 35 min. drive away. Nobody wanted to leave!!

Fantastique!

Une superbe maison perchée sur les hauteurs des environs de Todi. Une vue sublime sur les montagnes de la terrasse et de la très belle piscine. Très bien conçue et familiale, les enfants peuvent profiter de la fraicheur du sous sol aux heure chaudes. (baby foot, table de ping-pong, jeux). L'intérieur est beau, simple, chaleureux et moderne dans des matériaux du cru! Un vrai coup de cœur! Merci à Irit,, Fanny et Marcello pour nos échanges préparatoires et l'accueil qui nous a été réservé.
