Dip your toes in the creek or even go for a swim. Grill out with family and round out the evening with smores roasted over the fire pit for dessert.

Overall stay was pleasant. Cabin is definitely rustic - not finished and polished. It’s a bit dilapidated.
Host was magnificent.
Property itself is very pleasant.
Getting there is interesting, crossing a wooden bridge with exposed nails and holes in it was a bit startling.
Cabin needs a lot of attention. Poor quality workmanship.
Cabin was not clean. It was very neat but cobwebs and spider webs everywhere, inside and out. And yes spiders. Also a bad stink bug problem.
Countertops, dishes, glasses, etc. needed a good washing.
Bathroom, while neat, was also dirty - very visible. Insects in there too.
Would I stay there again? Probably not.
We stayed at the home while getting our son settled in as a freshman at Virginia Tech and also spent some time enjoying the area. It's an older building in a rustic setting, but the home has been updated and we found it to be clean and comfortable. The nearby creek is lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
My husband and I stayed for two nights while dropping our daughter off at Virginia Tech. I was slightly nervous, as the description of the house said rustic (in all caps). We were very pleasantly surprised. The house had a ton of character, and the property was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the creek, and watching the cows go by. The house was very comfortable, and clean. Unfortunately, we did not meet Daffy the duck. Hopefully next time, we plan to come back!
We enjoyed our stay! We came for a wedding at Buckeye Farms. This cabin was so close to the venue--about 10 mins away. Would love to visit again. Had fun watching the cows grazing on the hill. The creek was so nice. The porch has comfortable chairs to sit and watch the creek-- or critters. We even had a visit from a cute gopher and saw a deer. It was a very nice way to spend a weekend. The Clover Hollow bridge is worth seeing too!
to spend
This cabin was fit our needs perfectly--a clean, comfortable place to stay while visiting our daughter at Tech. We dreaded the idea of several days in a hotel room, and were delighted to find this property, a quiet, serene location a short 15 to 20 minutes from campus
Paradise! Perfect getaway location in the mountains
From the arrival and the quaint little bridge to the rolling green hillsides, the towering trees, the river running next to it, and the abundance of animals (and I can only imagine Fey folk), to the sturdy and welcoming cabin, this place is paradise! Absolutely paradise!
We absolutely loved the creek! My two dogs loved playing and swimming, and my husband and I loved sitting by the peaceful water flowing by. They got so worn out playing in the creek, and also all the great hiking nearby! Great location, close to Blacksburg if you want to go into town, but isolated enough to be able to relax in nature. The house itself was very clean and comfortable to stay in. We also enjoyed having a fire in the fire pit each night. We would definitely stay here again!
We truly enjoyed this peaceful cozy cabin. We brought our pup and stayed for two nights. The location was perfect, the sound of the creek and the porches provided a relaxing stay. Our pup loved going in the front door and out the back door circling the cabin enjoying the yard. The simple tasteful decor and quality of towels and linens were appreciated! We want to come back!thank you to our responsive host too!

About the host

My fiancee and I reside locally with our children. We both grew up in the area and decided to permanently call it home after spending some time away. Our opportunity to host you helps to provide for our family and also gives us the privilege to keep the creek house as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of life.
