About this property
Elephant house at the edge of the forest, own spring water
Located at the rim of the forest, the free standing Elephant House on Homberg is surrounded by lush green pastures, a huge fenceless garden, fruit trees, two own water springs, vegetable garden, and a garden pond for amphibies.
Sunny or shady places with tables and chairs for relaxation in the mountain breeze, eating or reading a book around the house is very pleasant.
Take a look at the pictures.
The space
The house is a dream for nature lovers. There is no direct road access to this peaceful, natural environment except a dirt road / hiking trail which brings you to the house. It`s perfect for people who want to rest, hike, meditate, write or read a book, go skiing or simply relax in the garden in several sunny and shady places around the house. Let the stress of the week and city life drip off easily. You won`t miss much.
If you like to drive to the house, that`s possible. There is a parking spot right below the house for your car.
The Homberg house is surrounded by numerous hiking and biking tracks, which give you fast changing views from different altitudes throughout the rolling hills and a vast landscape.
The small library on the upper floor with a philosophical reading corner in the big guest room will be a good distraction when the weather gets nasty.
You won`t miss tv. Instead you can warm your feet and relax your eyes in the open fire of a chimney in the living room.
Guest access
Guests can have access to skies, snow shoes (for small additional amount) and all kinds of activities if they wish. The winter is rather snow safe. You can directly go by ski from the house (with fur). You also can rent a bike, mountain bike or racing bike in summers.
Fruits and vegetables are also available, and it`s my pleasure to make home made bread for you. Normally you can also purchase apple juice from our trees per liter.
The ones who like to cook for themselves and not go to nearby restaurants can use the fully equipped kitchen for free. A cooling room for storing food and your groceries is provided and available.
During your stay
Guests can additionally book breakfast with different fruits, breads, jam, tea or coffee in the house on arranged prizes depending on your breakfast habits.
I can also cook vegan food for them with fresh vegetables from the garden.
In terms of questions I will always be here and available to help you setting things up for your convenience.
Other things to note
Two adorable tom cats are living with me in the house. They are very social and want you to read any desire for fun and food from their eyes. Always hungry ones.
There is a kind of circular ecosystem between the house and the garden, which guarantees that both are kept 100% clean. This means that the spring water that comes from the forest into the house is returned to nature or the garden as pure water (without a cleaning system!); as it comes in, it runs out again. Amphibians such as mountain newts, frogs and toads, and many small organisms and insects, which can also be found in the garden pond, live in this sewage basin of the house. The elephant house is not only vegan, but also detergent-soap and shampoo- FREE! A unique project for the love of the environment and animals, no-poo! However, proper disinfection is available especially during covid times.
