About this property

Forest Haven, a Cozy Cabin, 30 Minutes from Yellowstone!

Look no further, this really is the ULTIMATE cabin for your summer or winter vacation! In November 2010, we purchased this lovely, smoke-free, cabin (built June 2010) in beautiful Island Park, Idaho. It's just a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park, but that's only the beginning.

Located in the center of the Island Park area you have access to fishing, wildlife viewing, and snowmobiling/four wheeling right from the front door. We have plenty of off street parking for your toys.

We have really gone above and beyond and have spared no expense to make our cabin an exceptional place to stay while offering an incredible value for your money!

Our cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with convenient appliances, including a full size washer & dryer inside the unit. You can relax with our gas stove, roomy bathrooms and attractive furnishings. Smoking is not allowed.

We have a king-sized bed in the master bedroom with an extra comfy pillow top mattress, a queen-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom, and two more queens and a twin in the loft. There is also a pullout couch in the living room downstairs. The dining room table is large and can accommodate up to 9. There is a "full" bathroom downstairs and a very roomy "3/4" bathroom upstairs with a shower, but no tub.

The cabin is stocked with everything that will make your stay comfortable and fun! We have a total of 2 TVs with DVD players (a 46' flat screen in the living room, and a smaller t.v. in the upstairs 'kids corner'.) We also provide a selection of movies for the whole family. The summer of 2012 we added Direct t.v. and internet service. Cell phone coverage is available. We do not have air conditioning, but in the hottest of months if you open the windows after sunset, the mountain breezes will quickly leave you comfortably cool.

Your kids will love the books, board games and toys we provide. After a long day of having fun, you are welcome to use the gas grill on our patio, and make S'mores, sing campfires songs, and tell ghost stories around the fire pit.

Awesome cabin and location

We loved the space and all the amenities the cabin had available. It is in a quiet area with lots of space inside and out. It is about 20 mins to Yellowstone Park and the town is great for groceries, other shopping, and restaurants.

Christmas Cabin

Clean, beautiful, and relaxing cabin with surrounding evergreen trees created a delightful vacation with our family. This was our second trip to Forest Haven and it was totally enjoyable.

Adorable Island Park Cabin

Great property about 40 min drive to Yellowstone west entrance. The property was clean and well stocked. The only thing that would have made our stay more comfortable is a bunch of oscillating fans. The property does not have AC which usually wouldn’t be a big deal, but the week we were there was hot!

Rustic and comfy

It was a nice relaxing cabin with the sounds of a creek nearby. Even bigger loft than in pictures. Windows were bright in the morning but had eye masks to help and I actually enjoyed wearing one. Beds could be updated but it was fine for a us.

Beautiful cabin!

The cabin was very nice and extremely clean. The layout was ideal for multiple people. The stairs were not very steep for my elderly mom. The cabin was the perfect location for our vacation to Yellowstone. I would highly recommend this cabin to family and friends.

Christmas Cabin

This adorable cabin is nestled in pine trees. Clean! Well cared for. Our family enjoyed the Christmas tree and decorations. Lovely. Would love staying here again.

Perfect getaway

I booked this for my husband's 40th birthday. It was amazing. There were so many trails to ride near the cabin, the views were great and it was so quiet and peaceful. The kids loved the loft area! After a long day of riding it was so nice to come back, take a shower and sit on the front porch just listening to the birds. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Great place to stay--easy access to Yellowstone

This was a great cabin for 7 of us (4 adults, 3 kids ages 6-12) to spend a couple days while we explored Yellowstone. We had a very minor issue at check-in and the owner went above and beyond to correct the situation! We appreciated her quick attention to detail. The house itself worked well for us and we enjoyed the movie collection our second evening when we were all tired and just wanted to relax. Thank you for a great stay!!

Clean and thoughtful amenities

Property was very clean and well stocked. The lack of a lawn and weeds made it more difficult to walk our dogs. Biggest negative was the extensive check out procedure - we were asked to do all laundry and dishes before leaving which wasn’t possible with a 10 hour drive the day we checked out.

Sled trip

The property was just as it was listed. It was clean and super cozy. We made the trip down from Washington chasing the snow, we were not disappointed. We brought our 30 foot enclosed snowmobile trailer which we were able to park right down the road at the snow park. We definitely enjoyed our time at Forest Haven and will be back next year.

Beautiful Cabin With All Facilities Like Home Away Home

We stayed in this cabin with 4 adults and 4 kids. No problem of space. Cabin is very neat and full of all facilities what you have at home start from kitchen (utensils/good serving and dinnerware+ basic ingredients), living room has very nice TV and sets of DVDs for kids and family movies and in back many board games if you do not want to see TV. 1 Bedroom at level 1 and other bedroom on level 2. Few beds are in den. Bedding quality is very good, we all slept very well. Windows every where to listen bird chirping and get ventilation. Very good dinning hall and even has high chair. Garbage disposal was easy, I did not take the card to facility but only pictures of card (back and front) in my phone and it worked, so this can save some time to go to facility and come back to return the card. Only think which I recommend to improve is instruction on newly installed lock- specifically how to make sure lock is in place when you go to bed. Overall highly rec commended place to stay, we will stay for sure if we are in that area.

Great location with some issues

We have had a great experiences with VRBO and this cabin is no exception. The cabin is in a great location close to recreation in Island Park and Yellowstone. HOWEVER, there were several issues upon our arrival. The microwave did not have power. There were at least three pillows that are in need of replacement. The access road is in great need of grating, to be fare it has been a very stormy spring. Despite paying a significant cleaning fee you are required to wash and dry towels, place linens in wash room, fold blankets on bed, and take all the trash to the land fill, or extra fees would be applied. In the instruction book in cabin owner states the cleaning service does NOT do deep cleaning so please clean before leaving. The Internet is very slow. The cabin is very welcoming and relaxing, but would likely not stay again mostly due to the issues we had with the cleaning fees and still being required to do more cleaning than in other rentals we have stayed in with VRBO.

Enjoyed everything the house and location had to offer. Home is comfortable, spacious, with lots of household supplies and kitchen supplies. Owner Regina was amazing to work with! Best place to stay for winter and snow activities. Close to west Yellowstone.

Nice getaway cabin

The cabin is well laid out for a group gathering, it has a nicely equipped kitchen and is located in a quiet, secluded neighborhood. The cabin is located such that it is an easy drive to West Yellowstone, Lakes Henry and Hebgen as well as Earthquake Lake.

Why they chose this property

Our family loves to snowmobile, fish, ride 4 wheelers, hike, and camp. We also LOVE Yellowstone. After our third trip in one summer to the area, we decided we should buy a cabin so we can have a comfy place to stay each and every time we visit Island Park.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin was built in 2010. It has a fully stocked kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave and coffee pot. Full size washer and dryer are on site and ready to use. TV and DVD player in the living room, and also in the loft for the little ones. A DVD library, bean bag chairs, toys, and games, even a high chair and pack-n-play style crib. Doorstep access to MILES of trails (some say 400 miles, some say 600 miles... when we ride them ALL, we'll let you know for sure.) Trails are groomed for snowmobiling in winter, and accessible to four wheeling in summer. Many cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails are nearby. Over 50 awesome fishing holes, and rivers for the fisherman. Wildlife, such as swans, moose, deer, and other critters abound. Only 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park for even more wildlife viewing. Smoking is not allowed.
This really is the ULTIMATE cabin rental!
