Schlader Beach House in Beautiful Laguna Beach, Florida

Our beach house is located on the west end of Panama City Beach, Florida in the community of Laguna Beach. This is a quiet 1940’s beach community, with charming vintage beach homes. Enjoy the sound of the ocean, the gulf breeze, friendly neighbors, and families who have been vacationing here for decades. The Laguna Beach Property Owners Association controls the beachfront; so there is nothing blocking access to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, sugar white sand and natural dunes of this area, which was voted #1 best beaches in the world by 'Travel and Leisure' magazine and is regularly voted in the top 10 beaches! If you like to spend most of your time on the beach, you can't do much better, and, no crowds ever! Our beach is one of the last undeveloped beaches in the area. From the house, if you walk ¾ of a block to Front Beach Road and cross the road ... you're on the beach!!
We do have a higher rates during holiday weeks, Spring and summer months.

Our family has enjoyed owning this vacation home for close to fifty-five years. It is fully furnished with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room (with 2 couches, 1 is a Queen sofa bed)/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, central air & heat, washer and dryer, dishwasher and two televisions with basic cable and DVD players. The front of the house has two bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with a queen bed. The extra large screened front porch is our favorite place to relax, hang out, read, take a nap, or just sit and swing on the porch swing!! The master bedroom/bathroom is in the back of the house and has a king-sized bed and master bathroom.

If you head:

EAST on Front Beach Road, there are plenty of “beachy Souvenir Shops”, grocery stores, seafood markets, restaurants, etc. Thomas’s donuts is at the end of the street across from the beach! It was in Southern Living magazine as a top 10 donut shop in the nation! Pier Park a shopping village with fun restaurants, entertainment, retail stores, Starbucks, Target, and a 16-screen movie theatre is three miles from our house. Keep going east on Front Beach Road and there are plenty of places to dine, Goofy Golf, a fishing pier, and just 10 minutes away is a kid pleaser ... Shipwreck Island Water Park. We are also located only three miles from Frank Brown Recreation Area where horse shows, sports tournaments, swimming meets, etc. are scheduled all summer!

WEST on Front Beach Road or Back Beach Road will lead you to Destin, FL, which is only 30 minutes away. Destin is a large beach town with beautiful beaches, a huge outlet mall, shopping centers, and fantastic restaurants and attractions. In between Laguna Beach and Destin are more amazing beach communities along The Emerald Coast with unique little shops and restaurants! (Sunnyside Beach, Rosemary Beach, Deer Lake State Park, Seagrove Beach, Water Color, Grayton Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and Sandestin) There is a new business everyone has been raving about at

There is outstanding fishing in the area ... some of the best in the state for kings, dolphin, cobia (ling), bonita, wahoo, pompano, grouper and many varieties of snapper ... you can be in 100 feet only 20 miles out off of these beaches. Crabbing in the area inlets is great and great fun for kids. You can find many places on Panama City Beach or in Destin to charter a boat for deep sea fishing, play golf, tours, airplane rides, boat rentals ... much more!!

Porch Heaven!
The front porch is simply amazing! We spent many hours out there enjoying the breeze and our family. There is plenty of room to spread out and we all found our favorite spots. The house is cozy and fully of charm and there really isn’t anything like it. Jennifer shared the history of the home and that just added to the charm. With that charm comes some unexpected things such as narrow walkways inside, sloped floors, gaps under doors just to name a few. Even with these things, the porch, coziness, and great location won us over.

Home away from Home
With this property we love the location love the family feel. An love everthing that it has to offer with this beautiful home. This is our home away from home and will always continue to come here. We wouldnt choose anything else but here. Its a 15 min drive to Walmart if needed. Beach right out the drive way. Thank is 5 house down and your at the beach. Great location where the home is located. There isnt enough good things to say about the property just over all. 10 star. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆. We recommend this home to anyone. At this home you feel like your home away from home. Have everything you need all the way down to even the laundry detergent.she supplies. All you need to bring is your family and fun bc you want be disappointed. Also before the beach early morning your right next to donut shop b4 you hit the beach or afternoon for a quick bite. . This location will not disappoint if your unhappy here its not because of the owner bc she will go above and beyond to help and make what ever right. Nothing but love for this Family home. The vintage beach cottage was just what we were looking for. It was located in quiet neighborhood with east beach access across the road. The front porch was where we spent most of our time when we weren’t at the beach. The house had all essentials needed for our vacation.

Blissful beach time
Old florida beachhouse defined, if you know you know - charming beach cottage with all the modern amenities plus comfortable coziness of spaces for small to medium groups. The front porch is amazing for gathering, dining, entertaining and relaxing - if we weren't at the beach we were sitting on this porch. Less than 1/2 block to fast disappearing unspoiled beach. It was perfect!!

Nice but with issues
Location was great. Only 8 houses away from beach & close to Thomas Donuts & Carousel Grocery, both highly recommended. House has character due to the solid woods & uneven floors that are probably original from the 1940s, when it was built. The uneven floors & narrow hallway, however, could be problematic for those with mobility challenges. Screened-in front porch was a big plus. Really enjoyed eating meals on the picnic table & relaxing in the rockers. Water pressure was very weak. It was not possible to run 2 showers at the same time. We were informed that this issue would be solved once the county installs a new water main. Roku TV was frustrating when trying to watch NFL games on Sunday but enjoyed watching different movies each night on Hulu. Driveway is convenient but very narrow. We could not open the doors of my truck. But parking on front lawn was a good alternative. House was well stocked. Management was easy to communicate with. Overall, enjoyed our stay but something’s, like uneven floors & water pressure, need updating.

Cozy Slice of Heaven
Family girls trip again to this cozy, beautiful little beach house within walking distance to the gorgeous waters/sand of Laguna Beach. Most of our beach days was double red flag but we made the most of it & still enjoyed the beach. We did get to enjoy the front porch more this time. Would most definitely recommend this cozy little beach house and would most certainly stay again. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Schlader House. It was just the right size for our family of 4 and the beach was just a short walk away. We all loved the amazing enclosed porch and ate most of our meals out there. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare basic meals. We liked being in a neighborhood instead of the touristy bustle of Panama City and enjoyed being on a quieter beach without giant hotels behind us. Thomas Donuts is dangerously close - they are SO good and we got donuts there almost every day! I also loved being to walk to Carousel grocery store which had surprisingly good prices.

Perfect beach cottage
This beach house was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. Such close proximity to the beach and Thomas’ Doughnuts made for a wonderful experience. We spent the rainy days on the screened-in porch. These place was amazing. Short walk to the beach and easy access. We had plenty of room for out little family without being on top of each other all the time. Front porch is a great added bonus, wonderful for hanging out with the kids. The donut shop on the corner is an added bonus. Short walk with great food. We had a little a/c issue out first day and owners were on it in no time. They are the absolute best. We loved our host and location. Definitely want to go back!!!
