There is nothing fancy about the house, but it was perfect for our needs. The kitchen had all appliances, silverware, plates, pots that one might need and the location was close to a lot of good hiking and the VIC. It was great to have the kayaks and dock on the property -- Lake Clear Outlet is very peaceful without a lot of houses and the current/wind is more manageable than when you kayak on a big lake. We had one small problem with the diverter not working in the shower in the morning but the owner got it fixed by the time we got back from our hike in the afternoon.
The only potential negatives are that there is only one bathroom (downstairs, with one bedroom being up a flight of stairs) and the game room in the basement is a true basement, not a comfortable hang out space. For us, the house was fantastic and we would stay here again.
What a wonderful little house on the outlet. We fished, kayaked, canoed, hiked, and swam every day. The bedding was very comfortable, the house was clean and delightful, just a 5 minute drive from Lake Clear beach, and the owner was very cheerful and helpful. We loved it!
This was an absolutely beautiful, private retreat - perfect for a relaxing getaway. Easy access to a beautiful lake right from the front yard with boats available on the property. Relax in the front yard by the water, go boating or fishing from the property or visit the many nearby natural or town attractions. Host was very friendly and responded instantly to questions. Would highly recommend this place.
We had a fantastic stay with our 2 and 6 year old at the house. It was the perfect size for our family of 4 and we really enjoyed the yard and paddling on the super quiet lake. We would definitely stay again!
Every year, we look to "get away" from civilization. This location was just that. With a private dock in the back and plenty of room for my child to run around in, this place was an amazing stay. Specifically, the beds were A LOT more comfortable than expected. I own a Sleep Number and this is my constant worry. But the beds were very comfortable.
This camp was everything we were looking for and then some. Fishing in Lake Clear Outlet was great (we also fished elsewhere). The location of the camp puts you in the heart of the Adirondacks, with Tupper Lake, Saranac and Placid all short drives. We hope to stay there again.
What a wonderful weekend at the cozy cottage by the lake. We had something to do the whole weekend either spent time on the kayaks, or on the John boat or fishing off the dock enjoying the campfire, sitting on the deck just a very beautiful special place. We loved every minute of it.
This is a cute cottage that served our needs as we were in town for college orientation. We did not need to contact the host during our stay as we had everything we needed. We would stay again as it was very convenient.
Great stay. Kids loved playing with the snow in the back and frozen lake.
My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The location was good, 20 mins or less to Saranac, about 30 or so mins to Lake Placid mirror lake.
The house was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Beds were comfortable, heating was more than adequate.
The yard and lake access was fun. Snow was pretty much untouched and the kids loved sledding, playing with their trucks, walking on the frozen lake and trying to make their best snow angels. We had the whole lake to ourselves and it was great to see my kids play in snow.
Sam was responsive as a host, there was an issue that popped up randomly with the water and I notified him via the app. He called me and connected me with the caretaker of the house and, the guy was on his way and fixed the issue. Definitely would stay here again whenever we come back to the area.
Great location on the quiet end of Lake Clear outlet. Close enough to Saranac Lake to access yet far enough to be removed from the noise. Residence was clean, warm (it snowed the weekend we stayed there), well appointed, and the beds very comfortable. I can imagine the summer with the dock and access to water being blissful or a campfire in the pit for some great evenings listening to the bugs make music. Great views of the high peaks too!
This rental is well maintained and well stocked. Owner was very responsive and helpful. We were especially happy with this rentals location. It is near Lake Saranac, Lake Placid, and Tupper Lake. In addition, it sits on a beautiful, quiet lot. We see able to do so many things during our stay. Definitely a great place to stay.
We spent 3 nights in this quiet little cabin off the beaten path yet within a few miles of almost anything you would need. Well cared for and stocked with most of the basics. Owner was reachable and attentive. We would not hesitate to enjoy this little gem again.
This place was spectacular! We did not want to leave.
This was the true Adirondack experience. The home was charming, clean and cozy. The beds were incredibly comfortable! We loved walking out the back door to sit on the dock and fish, swim or or read. We cooked most meals and loved the Weber grill, screen porch and fully stocked kitchen. Living space was wonderful for relaxing evenings. The kayaks and canoe made for the perfect vacation. This will be one of those places you tell your friends and family about! Every morning we saw Blue Herron flying overhead, Witnessed an Eagle fly in the distance and heard a story from a neighbors about a Moose swimming last year just 20 ft. from our dock. If you are looking for a Adirondack getaway-, this is the place.
If you’re searching for a place to spend a vacation being close to nature, you can’t get much closer than this. The lake allows beauty, serenity, canoeing, fishing, swimming. The forests allow for wonderful intersections with nature. The stars are majestically breath taking. The location allows you time away from the chaos of city living, but also minutes from town in case you miss it, with all the conveniences of a big town, but with a small and friendly town atmosphere. Make sure to visit Market Days. The only complaint is that we didn’t plan for a longer stay. A beautiful place to enjoy inside. But nature will call you out!

I'm a local guy who with a company in LA that builds recording studios for professional music and film engineers. My wife and I moved back here some years ago, and we live in Saranac Lake. My family owns a few vacation rentals, which I manage, in Saranac Lake and Lake Clear. This location, like the others, is near and dear to us, as it has been in our family for generations. I was born down the street in a house my father built. My brother, sister, and I were toddlers fishing off the dock of this cabin, and we have been fishing there ever since. It's lovey to share this place, and the Adirondack experience, with folks from near and far. My family and I are excited to host you!
Why they chose this property
This is a such a wonderful property. The house is perfect for four but can certainly accommodate six people. It is on the water; tucked away in nature with the unique beauty of the Adirondack Park right in the front yard. If fishing is your fancy, this is a home run. If you like to hike and explore nature, you will be stationed in the center the 46 Adirondack Peaks. The Fish Creek Pond day use area is right around the corner, and the The Wild Center in Tupper Lake is just a short drive away. The neighborhood is special and unlike any other I know.
What makes this property unique
This house is a cozy place surrounded by nature. Its charm is in its wonderful location and care. The peace and quiet is astonishing. Throughout summer, spring, winter, and fall this place is perfect and offers a stepping stone into the greater Adirondack Park.
