Amazing waterfront retreat

Amazing views from the apartment and the wrap around balcony. The apartment is very comfortable for 2 couples, with a double bedroom on each side of the unit. We loved eating dinner on the deck before sunset and looking over the un-interrupted views of the water. We even saw seals! Check-in was easy and the apartment has everything you need, except that the washing machine was broken making laundry a bit of a pain.

30th birthday trip

My close friend and I stayed at Anndee’s property for our 30th birthday and she was absolutely wonderful. She went above and beyond to ensure we have a great stay. The property is also wonderful, you cannot beat the views. Highly recommend!!

Peaceful Getaway

This property was perfect for our small family holiday. It was so serene being right on the ocean shore line, and the sunsets were stunning for March! Simple layout inside the house, has every basics you need, a kitchenette and full bathroom. Excellent host and very welcoming Thank you again Anndee!!

Fantastic Stay in a Perfect Oceanfront Cottage

We loved our stay here. Waking up to the panoramic views of the ocean was exactly what we were looking for. The wraparound deck is huge. The owner was great with communication and very flexible with our changing travel plans. We were very grateful to have found this place!

the Water view was awesome...easy access to beach and town...good parking...very kind hostess Somethings: Too many cooking gadgets and when more than one is used it short circuits...not fun...would have loved a plain simple stove. Too many decorative items everywhere and no place to put your things in the bedroom or bathroom. The table provided to eat on broke Basically...too much stuff everywhere...keep it simple and clear.

Sechelt Retreat

Our stay at the Devine Beachside house was everything we had hoped for and more. Listening to the waves and enjoying to views made for the perfect escape for my son and I. The place was spotlessly clean, beds comfortable, and we enjoyed many hours on the deck soaking in the sunshine and fresh sea air. Great time was had

West coast paradise

The unit we stayed in was all that we could have wished it to be. The location, right on the Salish Sea, was so very beautiful. The weather was perfect for our 4 day get away, so much so that we left the windows open at night and fell asleep listening to the waves, and then waking to lovely sunshine shining on the water. The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed, from dishes, pots and small appliances in the kitchen, to a great audio system, and also satellite tv. We were fortunate that this location not only gave us wonderful views of the sunrise but also gorgeous sunsets. Anndee was a perfect hostess, so very easy to talk to and she gave us helpful tips on local dining spots and attractions My husband and I both felt that this was a very special place, and that we will be returning in the future.

Wonderful Getaway

Anndee is a wonderful host, as were her family. The place was spotless. We were thrilled with the location, right on the beach. Wall to wall windows as well as a large outdoor deck, meant that we were able to enjoy the ocean, seals, boats, birds, swimming etc. We were there for Canada Day and enjoyed a fantastic fireworks display put on by a neighbour. Thank you Anndee for a terrific holiday.

Great place to stay for a weekend!

Very enjoyable time. The home is very very comfortable to 'hang out' in, and has a beautiful view of the ocean which is mesmerizing. So many windows and great views all around. AnnDee made it very easy to get settled and gave us many little tips from where to go for a run, to where to catch a good meal when we missed our ferry! (I would recommend reserving a ferry spot if you want to ensure you get on). Will definitely return at the next opportunity.

Fantastic property but poor management turns mini-vacation into big headache

The suite itself lives up to its expectations: it's located beachside, features fantastic water views and is immaculately clean (aside from a soiled sofa) - we loved every minute of our stay here. However, the process before and after our stay has been frustrating, disappointing, and overall, stressful. We booked our stay and sent through full payment via bank transfer on the Monday the week of our stay. However, we never received confirmation of payment or check-in information until 3 days later, the night before our arrival date. Normally, waiting 3 days isn't a big deal - unless it's the night before your stay and you need to decide whether you should still take the ferry over to the island. At this point, we had reached out to the owner via phone and email several times but received no response. We even had to call VRBO itself to confirm our booking was active and that this was a legitimate owner who hadn't run off with our money. Post-stay has also been a frustrating experience. Even though the owner wasn't around during our stay, she informed us 3 days after our departure that she would be withholding part of our deposit for the extra "cleaning" that was involved; we left the suite in the same condition we found it and completed more than what was required in her check-out procedures. We were told she would assess upon her return, but 2 weeks later, we haven't heard back. So beware of "extra cleaning" fees that may pop up after your stay.

Wonderful R&R for the entire family

Our family of four (with a 1.5 and 3 year old) stayed at the Devine's lovely beachside home in June. We were blessed with amazing weather - sunshine and breezes for the entire 5 days we were there. The beachside home is easily accessible from the highway but without the hazards as it faces the ocean. There was no issue with privacy! We arrived late in the afternoon the day we checked in - our hosts were gracious enough to drop off a bottle of wine and a pizza so that we wouldn't have to venture out again that day with our two small children! The top floor that is rented out has a wrap around balcony that is fantastic for all-day play, lounging with a good book, patio dinners, and star gazing in the middle of the night. The suite (with the two bedrooms behind sliding doors) is light and airy, and lovingly decorated as a beachhouse. The one downside is the small kitchen - but it does the job. There's are hotplate, a microwave, a small convec oven. There's even a bbq on the patio for guests' private use. Our hosts were generous in sharing their lovely backyard with the children, who played in their wading pool with their water toys every afternoon. The house is on the beach - and though the beach is very pebbly (bring water shoes!), the views, the aquatic life, and waves are right in front of you. We enjoyed watching a pair of bald eagles soar back and forth across the sky in front of us every day, and the girls especially enjoyed collecting rocks and finding crabs/starfish on our daily walks. All in all this was a perfect week on the west coast! Thank you Anndee for making it so comfortable.

Vacationers Delight!

We had the privilege of staying here for a lovely 3 months (Oct, Nov, Dec). We loved the very comfortable beds, the light-filled open design and the ever changing sea and sky views 24/7. Loved watching the seals & water birds from the chairs inside or on the deck - as well as the activity of tugs, ships, & sailboats. Enjoyed all the amenities of nearby Sechelt - the community centre facilities, the shopping, natural historical society gatherings, craft fairs, the playhouse events, the hiking trails. The owners, Ed & Anndee, were very responsive to our every need. We look forward to returning!

A wonderful vacation spot!

We loved our stay. The space is bright and beautiful, the view is magnificent, the beach is perfect. BBQ'ing dinners on the deck, daily beach walks, swims in the clearest water and easy drives to town for food/wine. A wonderful place to relax with a family.

Perfect location in Sechelt

We just returned from a week at this lovely home and had a wonderful time. The space is very open and bright, and remained cool throughout the day, despite the temperature soaring outside. Being right on the beach, it is the perfect spot for taking a quick dip (or a long soak) in the ocean. Our 6 year old spent hours bobbing in the waves and searching the shore for all sorts of marine life and special rocks. The location is perfect for a family vacation. We thank Anndee for sharing her beautiful home with us!

Couples Weekend

We (2 couples) stayed at the Divine Beachside for the May Long weekend and it far surpassed expectations! The suite was immaculately clean and well maintained and was so open and airy. There are spectacular views from everywhere in the suite; we never wanted to leave! We actually had plans to go hiking/sightseeing on our first day but when we went inside to drop off our things and saw how beautiful it was we decided we'd rather hang out on the balcony and take a walk along the water instead. We are so happy we stayed here! Thank you, Andee, for your warm hospitality during our stay! We can't wait to come back!

summer 2013

Often times when booking vacations, the product does not live up to expectations. In this case it far exceded what we were expecting. The location and view were excellent as was the beach itself. Low bank water front without the loss of the beach at low tide was great. The accomdations were very well designed decorated very well. The added unexpected extras of some food items and lots of towels and other supplies was a real bonus. Great place, good value/price and highly recommended.

Memorable vacation!

Pictures don't do this home justice. We were so happy when we arrived to walk into a light, spacious and spotless holiday rental. The view was wonderful and our children loved exploring up and down the beach. A friendly little town nearby just added to the experience. We would love to return next year!

Amazing experience

We stayed here two years in a row. What a wonderful place! Very nice owner, she was very accommodating both times, very helpful. Nice location, unbelievable views. Clean house. I, my wife and our toddler son truly enjoyed staying here. We had nice BBQ dinners on the beach, watched cruise ships passing by during a day. It is a place where you forget about work, errands and all that hectic life style… When the weather wasn’t great we spent time at Sechelt’s Aquatic centre – new facility with a very good pool. Our son loved it there. Looking forward to staying here again
