About this property
Brand New, Waterfront House on Beautiful Fairlee Creek
Goose Haven is nestled on 2 wooded acres on freshwater, Fairlee Creek - about 1.5 hours from Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. It is a brand new, 4 BR, 3 BA, waterfront house with direct water access. There is also a public boat ramp/launch and dock less than a mile down the road. If you don’t have a boat, don’t worry, we have a kayak & canoe for you to enjoy on the water. Visit Chestertown and Rock Hall only 20 minutes away.
If you have a boat, bring it. Fairlee Creek is a large freshwater tributary to the Chesapeake Bay. It's a spring fed river and great for swimming, waterskiing, fishing, kayaking, etc., and there are many beaches to enjoy nearby on the bay. There is a public boat ramp/launch and dock less than a mile down the road. You can leave your boat at the public dock during your stay or keep it on your trailer back at the house. Fairlee creek is ¼ mile wide in front of the the house and a 5-minute boat ride away from Great Oak Landing marina, Jelly Fish Joel's and the opening into the Chesapeake Bay.
Visit Kent County's website for information/rules on permits and public landings -- https://www.kentcounty.com/recreation/boating/landings
Play corn hole, ride bikes on the traffic free country roads or just relax by the fire pit or on the front porch in the evenings as you wind down your day.
Goose Haven is a short drive from Rock Hall, a waterfront town right on the Chesapeake Bay and Chestertown, an historic town on the eastern shore’s Chester River. There are bars/restaurants, wineries, distilleries, museums, shopping and so much more to explore close by. Within a 15-minute drive you can find many charter fishing captains and hunting guides. A great day trip to Annapolis and the US Naval Academy is a little over an hour.
* Please NOTE that this is a natural river setting. There are 50 steps down to the water onto a small beach with sticks and stones on it. The steps are very solid and safe, but have a steep section. At high tide there is no beach. There are fallen trees and debris under the water, and at low tide it is very shallow off the beach, so this is not the kind of beach that is good for swimming. It is good to launch a kayak or canoe, and the swimming is great out in the river, just not off the beach area.
