Great location with close access to Lake Michigan and cute beach towns. Peaceful area for rest and relaxation. Loved sitting on the front porch with a good cup of coffee.
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was exactly as we expected. The lack of A/C didn’t bother us due to the many fans provided. I really appreciate the response speed and recommendations from Amy! We would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to others.
The cabin was clean and comfy. We hunted rocks, climbed the dune, shopped, watched sunsets, hiked -- and enjoyed our stay!
Everything we did was within a reasonable driving distance
This cabin was perfect for our girls' getaway for three nights. Amy Clark was quick to reply and answer any questions we had. The cabin was EXTREMELY clean and had all the amenities we needed. The location is excellent - we biked the Betsie trail and drove a short ride to Glen Arbor to ride the trail there.
This was exactly what we needed. The cabin is perfectly located to see and do things aound Lake Michigan. It is peaceful. Amy was quick to respond with any questions or giving suggestiins of places to go. We will stay here again!
Rustic cabin in one of the world's most beautiful areas
Great location to use at basecamp to explore some of Michigan's most wonderful lakeshores and many other natural features. The cabin was clean and well-appointed with a full kitchen and a fantastic fire pit. We were here to fish, so we only used the cabin late in the evenings but look forward staying again to take in all the amenities. Great communication, great host, great experience.
The property was clean, comfortable, and a great time. Almost any and all spices and kitchen equipment you could want in the kitchen. No wifi provided an opportunity to disconnect and hang out. Close to the Dunes. Would recommend staying here.
For being an old cabin it was a 6/5 for cleanliness. Would recommend for those who can go with out wifi and cable. Great area for setting up a base to explore the northern mitten of Michigan. Had pleasant experience with most everyone in the small towns around. Communication was good with hosts, thou had no problems to get fixed.
We arrived Thursday afternoon to an awesome log cabin, the descriptions on line are spot on. The place has everything you need. We enjoyed our stay and this could be a yearly trip for us. Great location to all that sleeping bear dunes has to offer. Plenty of wood for bonfires, very comfortable beds. I'd give it a 10 out of 10.
This vintage cabin is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing with modern amenities (except the Internet). It harkens back to a mid-twentieth-century time down to small details such as Petosky stone handles on the bathroom cabinet, solid wooden doors, mechanical doorbell, old-fashioned door knobs, wood furniture, and real log walls. Nothing fake here. The cabin is in a wooded area with neighbors who are far enough away to seem almost not there. The property has mature trees of the classic northern hardwood forest such as red oak, beech, red maple, basswood, and sugar maple. Hemlock trees complete the north woods feel. I enjoyed sitting outside at the fire ring reading and watching for northern forest birds such as the yellow-bellied sapsucker and common raven. The black squirrels were especially interesting. Deadstream Road has only light traffic during the day and is quiet otherwise. A short walk down the road is the Mt. Minnie Nature Preserve which has a nice walking trail to a high dune and to Little Platt Lake. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
