About this property
Blazing Fast WIFI - Gorgeous 1890s Carriage House - Parking Five Feet From Door
Amazing Privacy, Loads of Character in Stand-Alone Historic Carriage House.
Stunning carriage house. Top location 3 blocks to Capitol. Charming Capitol Hill. Walk to National Mall, Union Station metro, restaurants. Ideal location.
Address is 311 A Street NE Washington DC 20002. The 300 block of A Street is highly sought after for it's location and charm. Three blocks to the Capitol on a gorgeous tree-lined street with brick sidewalks.
Two story brick 1890s carriage house. Stand alone structure. Tons of character. Open loft bedroom. FREE PARKING FIVE FEET FROM DOOR (may not accommodate an oversize vehicle, ask for detail).
Blazing Fast up to 1 GIG WIFI (and ethernet). This is the fastest residential service available in DC.
This is a unique space that allows maximum privacy. It's an old 1890s carriage house. Originally housed horses downstairs and equipment / hay upstairs.
Now a charming residence. It sits at the back of a huge double lot. On one side is a beautifully landscaped garden area (great for monitored pet usage). On the other side is parking five feet from the front door (a HUGE rarity in DC).
It has no party walls or anyone above or below so it is remarkably private. Double-thick brick walls add even more to the private feeling.
Downstairs is open with a huge well-equipped kitchen with heated marble floors, washer/dryer. The living and dining area are open and spacious. Fireplaces is decorative only (not for use) The original carriage house entrance that allowed for the carriage and horses to enter is now a stained glass window. The thick original wooden doors add even more character. Half bath downstairs.
The open wrought iron staircase leads to a spacious open loft bedroom upstairs with queen bed, plus traditional bedroom upstairs with full bed. Full bath with marble floors and great shower upstairs.
Queen sleeper sofa downstairs.
YouTubeTV with 80 channels plus HBO provided free plus smart TV with Netflix and Amazon built in for use with your accounts.
Please inquire for details about sleeping arrangements before booking.
This is a Capitol Hill Stay property. Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 24 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1996. We use excellent cleaners and pay them a living wage (they are best in DC if you ask me). If this property doesn't work for you or isn't available for the dates you need please reach out to us and let us know and we can see if we can find a property that does work for you. You can also swap from one of our properties to another as available if needed. Additionally you can see all of our Airbnb listings at our Airbnb host profile page.
Ask about parking options PRIOR to booking please.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ABOUT PRICING. We have been a primarily longer term housing provider for 25 years but pricing on Airbnb is very hard to communicate and set, as it's impossible to know the dates and circumstances of every possible guest's needs in advance when we set pricing. Pricing may vary significantly depending on length of stay, specific dates, etc. For longer term stays there may be discounts possible.
PLEASE SEND AN INQUIRY PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.

Capitol Hill is an outstanding neighborhood. It's historic, charming, and ideally located at the absolute geographic center of DC. Terrific safety, with the US Capitol police patrolling the area. Home to many politicians, media figures, etc.
Corner groceries, pharmacy, great diner and dry cleaners a two minute walk away.
Eastern Market (farmers market and baker/butcher etc) is a few blocks away. Amazing restaurants and lively bars within blocks!
Whole Foods and several other supermarkets in the neighborhood.
Five blocks to metro orange/blue and red lines. Union Station train station is five blocks. Union Station is home to the major sightseeing tours. Capital Bikeshare kiosk is a couple minutes walk.
Uber and Lyft and cheap and very easy to get here.
DC Circulator metro rapid bus transit also very close by.
Remarkably unique property. The parking six feet from the door is a rarity in DC. Perfect spot to explore DC from. Excellent neighborhood for longer term stays as well.
A word about rates:
Since every booking is different the rates listed are an approximation. Rates are based on length of stay, specific dates needed, amenities requested, etc. Bookings less than 91 days are subject to the DC lodging tax of 15.95%. SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.
And of course it's a presidential election year.
Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.
Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
