About this property

Charming location just across the road from Baker's Pond. The house is spacious with beautiful hardwood floors throughout and central air. The comforts of home include cable TV in living room, Wi-Fi, main floor washer and dryer. The kitchen has it all: dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker and of course, a lobster pot. You will love the openness between the breakfast room and kitchen.
You are also welcome to use the garage and any barbecue and recreation equipment you find.
The location is ideal...a short 5-min walk to the tucked-away, sandy beach on Baker's Pond. You can swim, kayak, canoe or fish. This pond is stocked with trout and small-mouth bass.
Explore the 'Ancient Way'--back roads into Nickerson State Park. Great for a WALKING adventure. It's accessible about 2 blocks/10-min walk up the road Directions to the 'Ancient Way' is in our guest book.
There are big waves at Nauset Beach, a 10-min drive, where you can swim, boogie board or just walk the long expanse of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Skaket Beach, on Cape Cod Bay, is only a 5-min drive away. The water is warmer than Nauset and at low tide you can walk out for almost a mile.
Rock Harbor(free parking) is just a little past Skaket Beach. Arrange a fishing trip on one of the many charter boats or just watch them bring in their catch. Rock Harbor is another good spot to walk out "on the flats" at low tide. Really fun for kids! And don't miss the sunset on Cape Cod Bay-WOW!
This is a lovely house, always meant to be enjoyed, in a perfect Cape Cod location.

Perfect Cape Getaway

We had a wonderful week at this property. The space worked great for our family of four. The house is in a fantastic location, set off from the street and a short walk away from a terrific public pond. The mossy and partially shaded yard was amazing for our two toddlers, and the living room and bedrooms were well balanced and comfortable for the group.

Very Comfortable Home

I do not use the word home lightly. This property feels like home, not a rental. It is in a fairly secluded quiet location but very close to our favorite beaches on both the ocean and bay side. Thank you again for a perfect stay.

Wonderful week at the Hinkle House

We truly enjoyed our week. The house is spacious yet cozy and we had everything we needed. (On our wish list if one is picky though, would perhaps be an outdoor propane grill.) The area is kind of secluded with lots of trees surrounding the house. But the 6 Highway is very close and something you clearly hear when being outside. We really enjoyed Bakers pond, a 2-min walk away, for morning and evening swims. Also Cliff Pond some 25-min walk away through beautiful Nickerson State Park was perfect. The owners where very helpful and answered very fast when we contacted them. Thank you Carol och Guy!

Great Location in a Wooded Setting

The fully furnished home (minus linens) is in a secluded wooded section of Orleans near Bakers Pond. Access to the pond is just down the road, as is the trailhead into the conservation land. Drive a few minutes and you can enjoy the expansive beaches of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The screened breezeway at the house provided a very pleasant seating area with no mosquitoes. If you want to save time, order groceries ahead online at Shaws and choose the convenient and free drive up and go option.

Exactly What We Needed

Our stay at 11 Hinkle Lane was perfectly relaxing and comfortable. The home is spacious and has many of the necessities you would need throughout your stay. A great location for local beaches and activities, and Bakers Pond is just a short walk from the house - for a nice afternoon swim. We are very happy we chose this home.

Perfect Cape Cod Getaway

10 minutes from Skaket Beach and Rock Harbor, this property was perfect for our family of fours summer vacation. A very comfortable house with an endearing history. Lots of space, comfortable beds, well fitted kitchen, and air conditioning! What a difference that makes. A great location, away from the major tourism bustle but close enough to all the interesting places to visit. We highly recommend it and when we go back to the Cape in the future, hope this home is still available. Lifelong memories from a wonderful trip.

I was very pleased with the property. The air conditioning was very much appreciated.

My family and I were very pleased with the property. Although there were only two bedrooms, there was plenty of room for entertaining and privacy. The two full bathrooms were adequate for a family and a few guests. An additional positive feature of the house was the air conditioning. The system worked very well and the week we were there we were very comfortable despite the 90 degree days. The house was located well off the street in a quiet neighborhood thus ensuring privacy.

Cape Cod at it's finest

My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary at this property. The amenities were second to none. The feel was warm and comfortable, very much like home. Impeccably maintained, quiet and clean, the location couldn't be better, minutes from the bay and the ocean, we were in heaven. Baker's Pond, right across the street, was an amazing place to swim and just relax sitting on the beach soaking up the sun and getting to meet some of the locals. The owners were kind enough to give us directions to a little out of the way parking area at Rock Harbor, what amazing sunsets! Sunrises at Nauset beach were well worth getting up for. We enjoyed the proximity to the diverse selection of dining establishments in Orleans. The property owners were so helpful in suggesting areas of interest and some of their favorite restaurants to try, they truly made our stay memorable. Thank you.

Charming House in a Great Location

My family of 6 stayed at this charming home in August this year and had a very memorable vacation on the Cape. You can't beat its location both on the Cape (minutes from the main highway) and within Orleans (short driving distance from both the ocean and tide-side beaches and town). The home had everything you need in terms of amenities, and was very clean and spacious. Its layout was such that the six of us could easily spread out and not feel at all crowded. Its located in a nice neighborhood near a freshwater beach which we walked to each morning. You can clearly tell that its owners take a lot of pride in maintaining it and have everything arranged so that visitors feel at home. The owner not only answered every question and provided ideas in advance of our trip, but maintains a notebook in the home for guests to share their adventures and recommendations for making the most out of exploring the Cape. We would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to our friends and family.

July family vacation to 3563650

This was our first visit to cape cod. The location of this house was amazing! Perfect lake with beach access in walking distance--swimming & fishing, not crowded, state park was very close--awesome trails for hiking and biking. Beach was just a few miles away. Plenty to do in the area. (National Seashore, Cape Cod Rail Trail, Nauset Beach, Skaket Beach, fishing (fresh water & salt water), hiking, shopping, great local restaurants/take out) The house was perfect for our family of four. I have already recommended this house to family & friends.
