Downtown New London itself is an art lovers haven with galleries, live music, theater and performing arts. New London is also home to Connecticut College, Mitchell College and the Coast Guard Academy; while the Naval Submarine Base is located across the River in Groton. We provide beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and coolers. We also have an iron and ironing board for those occasions when wrinkled isn't the look you want. It’s like being home away from home.

As Described
The property was lovely, location was great. Host accused me of breaking an appliance that we didn’t use. So that was off putting. All of the appliances are older and some had notes that they weren’t working properly.

College visits/Family Trip
A beautiful home that was a wonderful home base for exploring the greater New London area. Very comfortable space that fit our family of 3 quite nicely. Quiet space that was a nice break from hotels and bustle of the big city. The kitchen and laundry were just what we needed and well equipped. Overall a great stay, thank you!

Charming Historic Home
The owner was easy to communicate with and the check in process was a breeze. The b ds were comfy and the house was well appointed with everything a guest might need. The property is a 10 minute drive to the USCGA. We walked to breakfast at the Yolk Cafe. There are several places to eat within walking distance.

Perfect getaway place!
In one word: comfortable. Plenty of room for my family to sleep in, the air conditioning was quiet and worked quickly. Having the beach pass was perfect, and being provided beach towels, linens, and basic kitchen essentials including paper towels and dish soap made it so we didn’t have to schlepp too much with us. Nancy was very kind and gracious! Would stay again if we want to visit New London, Ocean Beach, or Mystic again!

Great location and all the essentials
The home is only a block away from a great children’s park and very close to ocean beach park. It’s also only about 20 minutes from the dinosaur place, which is amazing for young kids and adults. We had a very comfortable stay and all the essentials were already there for. For young children they have the essentials to keep them safe and from melting down, but I will say there are a lot of antiques, beautiful paintings, and breakables throughout…so it’s probably not great for kids that don’t have a firm grasp on behaving yet. Overall we had a great time and the quiet outdoor back patio was a beautiful touch.

Everything You Need
Beautiful place, nice neighborhood, excellent location central to ferries, other seafaring towns and sites to visit, and great dining within walking distance. What's more, the hosts provide everything from beach chairs to detergent and everything in between. They even have a great collection of jazz CD's if that's your thing. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location, helpful hosts
The house was immaculate. A well stocked kitchen. An added plus was not having to pack beach towels, so thoughtful to provide these. Beds were very comfortable. Excellent air conditioning units, kept the house very comfortable. I would most definitely stay here again AND recommend this property to family and friends.

Fun beach vacation
We had a great stay this August. With the beach pass and a short drive to the beach and walks to restaurants and ice cream, it was a fun trip. The house was clean and very comfortable. Met all of our needs. Nancy was quickly responsive to the questions I asked and we enjoyed meeting her during our stay. Thank you!

Awesome Home Away from Home
We stayed for nearly 2 weeks and were able to truly settle in and make this our home away from home. The house is actually a duplex and the lovely owners live on one side in case you need anything. But you won't need anything! The house is comfortable, convenient and well stocked. The instructions are super straightforward, everything worked as promised, and there were recommendations for everything you could need. I didn't realize until we got there how key the beach pass was (parking is around $20 a day at the public beach and all other beaches are private). Our kids were thrilled that they could scooter to a nearby playground and ice cream shop nearly every day. All in all, great house, great owners, you will have a great time!

Great Family Time
We chose the property because of the short drive to Ocean Beach and a close location to various family activities. We had our daughter and her children with us and wanted a place within walking distance of family activities. There is a nice park just a few blocks away. Also, there was a nice ice cream shop within a ten minute walk. The house is extremely clean and well stocked. The owner is very good at responding to questions through email or in person. The house description in VRBO was accurate.

Great location, great host, nice house!
We enjoyed our stay here, and will certainly come back if we are going beaches in this area. Great location - 5 mins drive from the Ocean Beach state park, and the beach pass was super useful. New London downtown is less than 10 minutes away, and Mystic is a 15 min drive. House - I think this is by far the best stocked VRBO we have been in - Nancy thought of *everything* - kudos! - from towels and toiletries to picnic supplies. The beds were super comfy - great for a good night rest after a day in the sun and beach. The FireTV and Netflix were useful for a little TV time after the kids were in bed. Nancy was very responsive with any questions we had; she had a binder with every kind of local info and tips you can ask for!

characterful and convenient
We loved staying here. It was a convenient location in a quiet neighbourhood but convenient for the beach (free access with the owner's car park pass) and a great local ice-cream shop which we visited every day. Nancy was very helpful and we found the house comfortable and full of character with some fantastic antique furniture. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was warm during our stay. The house was well equipped and it was good to have a separate dining room. Connecticut was good for exploring with loads of history and family based activities around about.
