Great restaurants are also only 1 mile away. If you are looking for some night life or Titans football, downtown Nashville is only 15 minutes. The first floor has an open floor plan with a wall of windows to capture the view. Large living room with two seating areas, two dining areas and a 55 inch TV. The master bedroom has a KING bed and a cozy sitting area. The master suite has a very large bathroom with a shower and a claw foot tub. Also on the first floor there is a library, powder room and a laundry room.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms have QUEEN beds, 1 bedroom has two twin beds. The common room upstairs has a queen sofa sleeper and 2 twin sleeper chairs with a 65 inch TV. The upstairs bathroom has a claw foot tub and a shower.

Vacations are for resting, relaxing, having fun and making memories. There is no better place than on the back porch drinking coffee overlooking the Cumberland river.

Dance Nationals Nashville

What a perfect spot for family of teens and young staff of our family business of dance! We came for a National Dance event held at Gaylord. We could not have been much closer for our constant travels between thr house and Gaylord! Perfect stay, quiet, clean. Thank you for letting us stay at your house!

Joint Bachelor/Bachelorette

My fiance and I saw this beautiful property and knew we had to host our bachelor/bachelorette with our closest friends. WOW were we all blown away, not only by how expansive and scenic the place was, but also by how accommodating the hosts were for the entire experience. Not only did they give daily updates on the river conditions as we were looking into renting the pontoon, but they also allowed my fiancé’s maid of honor to enter the property early to set up decorations. If you are looking for a place that will make everyone’s jaws drop, this is it.

Bachelor Party Getaway

Great family get away!

The owner was more than accommodating worh us, let us in house early since we were ahead of schedule. Great communication, all around great experience. House was perfect for our group, plenty of space, beautiful backyard.....5 stars from us!!

“Turning 50 & Getting Married”

We utilized everything this home had to offer during our stay….we cooked, used the fire pit, enjoyed the hot tub, took tons of awesome pictures and woke up each morning to an amazing view of the river! The host was great and gave us early check-in as well as late check-out. This house worked out great for us!!! Our party of eleven all had hot showers & baths at any time with great water pressure!!! There were plenty of towels, linens, blankets and all the kitchen necessities. The hot tub was perfect for our tired muscles after being out walking and dancing. We had a large group so getting around required two Ubers. They were always quick to arrive so that was no inconvenience. We ended our trip by departing on the pontoon boat and fun was had by all. Getting down the stairs and on the boat with our luggage was a task but totally worth it!!! Great stay ….we would totally do it again!!! Gaylord Hotel was amazing, Broadway was crazy and the rooftops has amazing views.

Pennington Bend Stay

I sent emails to all 8 women who stayed at the house. Their comments were varied so I’m condensing. Everyone liked the porch, river view and kitchen/family room set up. The host seemed very accommodating and was always quick to answer any questions. The outside could really use some maintenance. Some of the furniture is old and stained and could use updating. It felt cluttered and not like it had been given a really good cleaning. The toilet in the master bath hadn’t been flushed and there were things in the hamper. 8 women trying to use 2 showers was a stretch. Overall our trip was fun but the house seems like it would be more suited to a family reunion in the summertime.

Wedding retreat

We used the fire pit and the hot tub. Most of the time we were there we were gazing at the beautiful river. We saw turkeys and even a very large woodchuck! A retreat inside the city. Great location.

Birthday celebration

We had a wonderful stay celebrating an 80th birthday. The house is a great location to grand ole Opry and the general Jackson cruise. Short drive downtown was easy. John our host was very accommodating. We are planning our return.

Our Nashville experience

Our stay at this property was amazing. This house can not be labeled as just a place to stay, it is truely a Nashville experience. Communication with the host was spectacular. Checking in was very smooth. We loved the outdoors space. The wraparound porch was the perfect place for relaxing and reconnecting with my family. I was able to put up my 20 foot inflatable movie screen in that large yard. Family movie night was nice. Loved having the fire pit with the providing kindling and logs. The decor inside the home is eclectic. We spent hours investigating all those interesting items. There is nothing cookie cutter about this house. We loved the fauces, clawfoot tub, sinks, hook door locks, wood burning heater, the furniture, I can go on and on.... Very spacious livingroom/dinningroom/kitchen where we enjoyed our family meals and played games that were provided in a game cabinet. This location made it very easy to travel downtown. Also, it is about walking distance to Gaylord Opryland which was a great place to visit for a few hours. I recommend this river house property for everyone. My family and I loved. We had so much fun.

Stunning view

We rented this place because of a family reunion at the nearby Opryland hotel. This house is right on the Cumberland river and has so much old time personality. We felt like we stepped into the 1800's with the huge tub sink in kitchen and vintage pink refrigerator. The wrap around porch with the rocking chairs and view of the Cumberland River was our favorite. The communication with the property manager was instant, he responded immediately and accurately. You will not be disappointed in this place, highly recommend. Our family enjoyed our stay immensely and will be back!! Thank you John for sharing your beautiful home and being such a pleasure to deal with.

Family Retreat in Nashville

The property is in a great location for a family retreat. Private enough to be comfortable and quiet, without the worry of disturbing the neighbors. Yet it seemed like every place we wanted to visit in Nashville was a 15 minute drive (other than the Grand Old Opry which was like a 3 minute drive.) The property owner was in touch during our stay to make sure everything was in order and was helpful with letting us know where we could launch our boat. The property was spacious and freshly painted and everyone in our group of 11, ranging in age from 1 year old to 60+, had a great time.

Relaxing Bachelorette

We chose this property for a relaxing bachelorette party weekend. It was close enough to Broadway for a quick Uber into town Friday night, and a night out of fun. Far enough out for a relaxing Saturday on the river. The house is beautiful and eclectic. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful and peaceful space!

We were blown away by how nice and private the house was. The hot tub was ready to use when we arrived and the house was immaculate. We enjoyed out time thoroughly and would love to come back again! There is some poison ivy on the outskirts of the property, so make sure you know what it looks like!

My 50th Birthday Celebration

We arrived with 9 people and were very happy with the accommodations. We wanted to be far away from the main strip to be able to escape the crowds but close enough for a quick uber ride and that is exactly what we got. The house has a rustic feel to it, that we found to be very homey. The house is stocked up with anything that you might need, we grilled one night and did not have to purchase anything besides food. There are more than enough plates and bowls and silverware. Our favorite spot by far to relax was the back porch with the rocking chairs, we spent hours back there talking and laughing enjoying the river front. Our first trip to Nashville did not disappoint, we highly recommend.

Great location & host. Could have been cleaner.

John was amazing! House is spacious and location is great! House could have been cleaner though… lots of clutter left in drawers, cabinets from previous renters. The upholstered furniture was torn, stained and very uncomfortable. Shower curtains were stained as well. Also, the hot tub situation was very misleading… I guess as far as cleanliness we just had higher expectations. Overall though John was very accommodating and the location and size of house was perfect for our long girls weekend.

Great for family gathering

Back porch with rocking chairs were a huge hit...plenty of room for 15 people to eat and drink...pink refrigerator stole the show!...John made the check-in/check-out process painless...rave reviews from the whole family, and will definitely rent it again next time we are in town.

We are John and Sandee Cox and we have been married for 38 years and have six children and two grandchildren. Originally we are from Texas and have lived in Nashville for 23 years. I am a singer songwriter and have a remodelling company and built this house in 2009 doing most of the work myself. My wife, Sandee, is a doula. We are excited to share our slice of heaven with you.
