About this property

Welcome to Holland House! Our home is located on the banks of Lake Wedowee, one of the most pristine lakes in the Southeast, which is known for its clean waters and excellent fishing. We are 2.5 miles from Flat Rock State Park and 1.5 miles from Harmony Pointe boat launch.

Our home is a fishermen's dream! We have a large, lighted private dock that boasts 2 covered slips, room to dock 2 additional boats uncovered, fish cleaning station with sink, mini refrigerators, live fish pen, and sunning deck with plenty of seating. Cedar trees under the dock make fishing without a boat a breeze. There is plenty of room for trailer parking as well. If fishing isn't your thing, our deck is also perfect for family getaways with a ladder on the dock and calm water to swim. We have a peddle boat and 2 children's kayaks. Wedowee Marina has boat and jet ski rentals available. There is a propane gas grill and charcoal weber grill on our large back deck. Seating and a fire pit with wood provided that is perfect for smores and more! Flat Rock has a great children's playground, swimming and picnic pavilions.

Holland House has a recently remodeled kitchen that is well stocked and new appliances. There is a large TV in the living room and the couch is also a queen sofa bed. We have a large covered porch with plenty of seating and great views of the lake. Morning coffee with gorgeous sunrises that also hosts wonderful views of breathtaking sunsets. The Master has a King size bed with another large TV. There is a full bathroom en-suite in the Master. The guest room has a queen bed with a 32 inch TV. There is a hallway closet that has a washer and dryer. All linens are provided. The home is equipped with DISH TV and highspeed internet.

We are 1.5 hours from Birmingham or Atlanta. Minutes from town with grocery stores and restaurants. Nearby attractions include Cheaha State Park, which is home to the highest point in Alabama. There is hiking and 3 waterfalls. Antique shopping, Talladega Motor Speedway with the Richard Petty driving experience, Cider Ridge Golf Course, one hour drive to Six Flags Over Georgia and one hour drive to Auburn's Jordan-Hare stadium.

Great place to stay!

The cabin was just as pictured and described. It was very clean and stocked with pretty much anything you may need for a weekend getaway. Communication with the owner was great. The complimentary waters on the night stands were a nice touch.

Home away from home

Our stay was simply amazing! Communication with Angela was so nice not having to communicate with a company you could text her to ask her anything. She was readily available at all times! The house was awesome, very comfortable. The hill going down to the dock was a little steep just because we were traveling with an infant, but the dock and lake was so nice. We caught so many fish even with the lake being low due to beginning of the season. I saw a review about the dirt road getting to the house being bad, to me it was very easy to navigate. Overall it was such a great experience! We will definitely be back in the fall!

We had the best time! Me and my husband had a nice relaxing weekend. We caught some fish on the dock. The cabin itself was super clean and well stocked. We are very pleased with our stay! The host, Angela, is the sweetest!

Fantastic Lakefront Getaway!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful Cozy Lake Wedowee Home, and it exceeded all my expectations. Peaceful solitude!

If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway this is the place. The home was remote enough for peace and quiet, but still close to stores and restaurants. Flat Rock park and other hiking trails were within a short drive. Wake up each morning with a view of the lake. Relax at night in front of the electric fireplace. We visited in late December.

Lovely Lake Home

Beautiful lake house! Very clean & very well taken care of. Angie, the host, was the kindest. I cannot say that we’ve ever had a host this amazing. Great relaxing weekend with friends.

The property was nice and as pictured. Google maps took us to the wrong house, but other than that, there were no hiccups. The house was very cozy, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prep/serve our meals. We enjoyed all of our meals on the back porch overlooking the lake...very peaceful. We had a nice, relaxing weekend. We would definitely come here again! One recommendation, that the host have check-out time and instructions visibly posted somewhere in the house, along with the wi-fi code.

Beautiful cozy cabin with Great Lake access!

We had a fantastic anniversary getaway. We towed our fishing boat and were able to launch at a free public ramp and tie off at the covered cabin dock until we headed home. The kitchen was well-stocked and the furniture was comfy and cozy. The owner was fantastic with communication and suggestions. We will definitely be back! The covered back deck was an added bonus.

Wonderful Stay on the Lake

We had a wonderful stay at the lake house. It was cozy, Angie was great, and we loved sitting out on the deck taking in the lake view in the morning. A surprise delight were the hummingbirds! There's a hummingbird feeder on one end of the deck and it brought a number of hummingbirds in throughout the day. Thanks Angie!

You will want to stay forever

My wife and I travel a lot for work! This is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed! From great communication to cozy everything including the bed. Even got the chance for some dock fishing and caught a nice bass 🎣. Don’t pass up this place if you’re in the area.

Perfect Getaway!

The Cabin was the cutest! Had everything we needed for our 4 days there. All we needed at the grocery was some food. There were all kinds of spices, shampoo, soap, laundry stuff, coffee , and even mints by our bed. We caught some fish off her great dock and enjoyed the lake with some friends we . Ate at Boondocks and the food was great! If your looking for a clean, relaxing place to stay, don’t miss this one!

Awesome Place

Property was awesome, excellent view of the lake from the huge covered back porch. House was very clean and well stocked. First time I ever went somewhere and slept the first night, awesome master bedroom and bath. The dock was awesome as well and plenty of fish. House is a stone throw away from flat rock and the big part of the lake with boat ramp lest than a mile. Place was a 10 in my book and thanks Angela for being a great host!

The perfect home away from home!

This place is beautiful! The house was well stocked and the linens smelled fresh and clean! We brought our pontoon on our trip…even if you don’t have a boat, the dock is a perfect place for fishing! We caught several bass off the dock. The floating mat, kayak, paddle boat, and John boat were a big hit for two 12 year old boys! Angie the owner is amazing and stayed in contact with us the whole time. She answered all of our questions immediately and even gave us suggestions. We will definitely come back to visit!

Peaceful Getaway

The house is beautifully decorated, cozy and had everything we needed! The owner is very accommodating and super responsive. The location is lovely. Only negative is that the road to the property is very rough. We had no trouble with our truck, but until we got to know the road, it was a bit troublesome in our Murano. I don’t want to leave the review on a negative, so I just want to say again how beautiful the property is. Angie is absolutely fantastic to work with.

The Great Escape

We visited Lake Wedowee for a birthday celebration, and the experience, house, property, and host blew us away from start to finish. Can't wait to go back! Pros: -Clean house with new appliances and perfect interior and exterior design -Comfortable bed -Had two different grills that worked great -Great dock with beer fridge, comfy chairs, and a XXL float -Great for fishing, had a good cleaning station -The view of the stars was amazing -TVs could easily connect to Airplay -The host was very nice and easy to get in touch with Cons: -Going back to real life was really difficult

Excellent Lakeside Property

I rented this for my son and daughter-in-law for their wedding weekend. They absolutely loved the property and said they would stay there again. They said the property was beautiful and had everything they needed and more. I communicated with the owner from the beginning and she was very responsive, answered all questions, gave specific directions to the property and went above and beyond to make sure they had everything.

THE PERFECT GETAWAY!

We had a FABULOUS and most relaxing weekend staying at Holland House! The house is EXACTLY as presented in the pictures and in the written description. The house was super clean, stocked with all we needed, and Angela was the perfect host who thought of everything possible to ensure our stay was perfect —- bedside water and phone chargers, games out and ready to use, fishing information, fresh flowers, etc. We enjoyed our time spent on the deck, around the fire pit (firewood provided!), and especially on the boat dock where we caught fish, enjoyed the paddle boat, and just sat in the sun and relaxed! We are already planning to return for a fall getaway!
