Casa Blanca and Iron Man

We rented Casa Blanca for a family gathering in conjunction with Iron Man. The property is fantastic and the location is also fantastic sitting just minutes from downtown Lake Placid. Hiking trails are within walking distance and the area is very quiet. The hot tub and fire pit outside were put to good use along with the kitchen and huge dining area.

Perfect Place for Large Groups

Casa Blanca is an exceptional house with plenty of space and things to do on the property. Beautiful views and ideal quiet location. The house is nicely updated and the WiFi is super fast! Working with Ann was excellent. She treated us like family and was always available. She gave us great tips about the house and activities in the area. Looking forward to coming back next year. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience

Martha, manager and owner as one person, extremely kind, enthusiastic, and full of passion, she took our group in the check in day for a turn around her beautiful house. The location is excellent, close to Olympic Ski Complex, close to the Lake Placid town, all kind of hike trails, and to go just to relax in a beautiful countryside. We highly recommend everyone, especially for a larger group. Martha, thank you for everything ❤️

Winter Wonderland

The property and it's condition were wonderful. Mea and Ann were gracious hosts. The only disappointment was the game room. It did not include a pool or ping pong table. Otherwise, everything was great (especially the fireplace) and we look forward to returning next year.

Nice in many ways, problematic in others

There is much to like about this property but there were some issues. First the good: The location is excellent, close to Lake Placid town, yet out in beautiful countryside. The back yard was lovely, beautiful plantings. Beautiful view. The house is definitely large enough for a large family with plenty of room to spread out, adequate indoor seating. The kitchen was incredible, anything you want to cook with and a large fridge. The negatives: We got a bad first impression at check in. The owner took an inordinate amount of time to show us around including areas such as son's weight room, that we weren't allowed to use. We were tired and still had to unload, settle, cook dinner. A shorter tour would have sufficed. She kept telling us that this is the house she lives in year round and by the end of the tour we felt uncomfortable with the idea that we were in her personal space . The house had a sweet chemical smell that made us sneeze. Finally figured out it was those little plug in air fresheners. We unplugged them and opened windows and all was well. But the overall vibe was more suburban home than Adirondack Mountains, so not really the vacation feel we were hoping for. Practically speaking it is a large home, but the appliances were all those small ones used in apartments (to be fair, there are two sets of washer/dryers but both small). Dishwasher also smaller size so that we had to run it frequently. My initial negative impression was reinforced by the mold I discovered in the coffee pot from an old filter that had never been emptied. Lastly, the description was inaccurate. Hot tub fit 6, not 12 as advertised (which was no problem since we never wanted to all sit in it at once, still it should have been accurate). It is not in walking distance of hiking trails - they are nearby but would take quite a while to walk to, and fooseball table was broken. The promised ping pong table didn't arrive until half-way through the stay. Even more problematic, Her grandson showed up with it at 9 am without calling first to make sure people were up and about. He did come back later at my request, but seemed surprised that we would have wanted to know that they were coming. Lastly, the outdoor furniture was old and not really comfortable, and there weren't enough chairs for outdoor eating table so we were unable to take advantage of the lovely setting for meals. I will say the house grew on me over the week, and we did have a lovely time.

Stupendous Adirondacks gem

From first contact to lingering great memories, everything about our Adirondacks experience at Casablanca was superlative. Both the owners and the manager could not have been kinder, more responsive, or more accommodating. Before the trip they gave us leads on guides, hikes, stores, and local chefs. When we arrived, the manager gave us a detailed, highly useful tour of the house, its technology, and superbly outfitted kitchen. Our initial impression was a grand, high-end house on a lovely estate. The breathtaking views of mountains and beautiful gardens from the dining room and expansive patio and hot tub kept us in awe all week. The house served our dozen well-travelled hikers very well, except for being a little further than we'd hoped to major trailheads. We had no significant issues, just an initial misunderstanding of the floor heating system on the lower level. The consensus was that it was a great house to rent for the week, and one that I would love to return to.

An Oasis

We are a family with grown adults, spouses and a 2 year old. This was an oasis of peace, quiet and spacious gentle pleasures for a week. We cooked the entire time, hiked, read, played badminton, watched Netflix, hung out in the hot tub and loved loved loved the view. Anne was there to welcome us and instruct us when we arrived. The owners are very nice. Highlights are the patio which felt palatial and very safe for our 2-year-old, the well-stocked and equipped kitchen, the well-functioning and large gas-fire outdoor grill, the expansive yard and the view of the mountains as the clouds changed. The large house is on a dead end road so there is little traffic and that little is far from the house. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all super comfortable and the common spaces were generous and numerous. All the utilities worked well with no issues. The internet was strong but occasionally had some minor issues with disconnecting - no big deal. One of the best things was being able to eat at a large table on the patio and look at the mountains. My daughter said she is going back and, we all felt that way. One of the most peaceful wonderful vacations we have ever had.

Wonderful Adirondack house in Lake Placid area

Overall was a great house for a large group, House was beautiful. Wonderful kitchen and well stocked, very comfortable beds, awesome views, huge dinning table and wonderful hot tub and awesome fireplace. Only issue we had was after check in we had issue with not being able to shut off oven, left phone message about needing help to turn it off and never got return call back?? Luckily we figured it out but not sure the fix was how it should be turned off. Outside of that it was a relaxing, picturesque mountain house, no need to go anywhere.

Ultimate Vacation Home

We loved every minute of our time in this wonderful house. It has every comfort and convenience you can think of! Even though it was more than spacious enough to accommodate our large group, it still felt cozy. Location felt secluded and private, but it was a quick ride to both town and the mountain. Hope to return in the future.

Outstanding! Look forward to another trip.

Our family of 12 enjoyed Casa Blanca. Ann was amazing. It always nice to meet good hearted people. The layout of the house was perfect. Great space to congregate and nice areas to have alone time. Casa Blanca really felt like a home away from home. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil one could dream of. Location is perfect. Ann thank you again!!

Amazing house with everything you need!

I took a trip up to Casa Blanca with a large group of my coworkers for a ski trip to Whiteface. The house was amazing. It had everything you needed to cook. Plenty of towels and bed linens for everyone and then some. The house is large but feels very homey inside. The owner Ann is a real sweetheart and answered any questions we had right away. Will definitely consider coming back here if I have a large enough group again!

Wonderful time with great friends

We had a great time at Casa Blanca. The house is beautiful and very spacious. We met the owner at check in and she was very kind and gave us some great stories about the house...you truly felt like a guest in someone's home rather than a standard rental. The yard is great for the kids and we saw plenty of deer and fox which was a nice bonus. The view off the porches to the high peaks is breathtaking. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Beautiful Home

This property was absolutely breathtaking. It was the perfect place to get out of the city and relax. I would recommend this property to anyone that is looking to ski or just hang out in the mountains. The location was very convenient to getting into town as we were minutes away from Mirror Lake. It was a great stay and I am ever in the area again I would try to stay here or at another one of Ann and Mea's properties.

AMAZING!

Our long-weekend stay at Casablanca was really incredible. It was an absolutely perfect location for our cozy girls weekend. The house was big enough that we all had super comfortable beds to sleep in and weren't crammed. The location to the town was great and the amenities in the house were simply amazing. Beautiful house with an amazing view

This is a beautiful house with amazing views of a close, smaller mountain and the 46ers off in the distance. The layout of the house is perfect for multiple families. The house has multiple wings, each with a full bathroom. I stayed in the lower level wing which has a huge full bathroom with soaking tub, a king sized bed, and a large sitting area. You can exit this wing through the ground-level door directly to the patio and firepit in the back of the house or up the stairs into the living room to sit at the fireplace. The other wings have similarly convenient layouts and are very well kept and clean. The downstairs area has a bunk room for the kids, a playroom with a large couch, and an air hockey table. We spent much of our time inside in the large, completely equipped kitchen and around the central stone fireplace. The house is located far enough from Lake Placid to get away from all the traffic but close enough to give easy access to Whiteface, the grocery store, and the small shops. Overall I am very happy with my stay and would recommend it to friends and family.

Great location and plenty of space!

We stayed here for the Ironman. There was 6 of us racing so we really wanted a place that we could each have our own bedrooms and plenty of space. Casa Blanca was perfect. It exceeded our expectations. The location was peaceful and calming. The beds were very comfortable which lead to good nights sleep leading up to race day. We all agreed, we would definately stay here again. Thank you!

Amazing Time With Friends

I booked this house for a week with my girlfriends this summer, and let me tell you- the pictures don't do it justice. Driving into the driveway with all the beautiful flowers blooming along the white fencing with the Adirondack mountains in the background made for some great pictures. We arrived at the property later in the day after kayaking around Lake Placid and we were all pretty beat. So when we walked into the kitchen we were happily surprised to see a little "welcome" set up complete with a box of candy to thank us for our stay. It was obvious that the owners really cared about the satisfaction of the guests, as everything was well stocked, well cleaned, and decorated to the nines. It was such a pleasure to come home from a long day of hiking and relax in the hot tub. We would sit around the fire at night and drink wine and marvel at the stars. The house was at a prime location as it was close to many trails, and yet it was close enough to town that the last day we were here, the girls and I arrived at the shops in less than 10 minutes. We all were extremely pleased with our stay, and we are already planning our trip here for next year!!
