Friends getaway

Eight friends who are neighbors and traveling partners decided to go to Maine. We found this house and booked. It was perfect. Plenty of space for us to gather and yet to have quiet time. we hiked Acadia, ate, drank, laughed and talked. It was perfect! The house is a home, so comfortable and so well appointed. Highly recommend.

Millers take Acadia

We lived this historic cottage with all the characteristics of a well loved home. We ranged in age from 2-62 and we all loved it. The view of the harbor at sunrise was the perfect way to start our day. The family friendly home filled with games and puzzles was the perfect way to end each of our daily Acadia adventures.

Amazing waterfront home. Yes historic too.

Large group of friends and family made this our home for eight days. Over the years we have traveled to various national parks and stayed in a rental homes such as this. The experience here was fabulous. Ages six months to 70 years. There was plenty of room for all to spread out, with diverse sleeping options, and great community eating and gathering areas. A few issues to be aware of, but not really surprising as the home is 120 years old. Include narrow stairs, drafty, windows, raised bathtubs -needing a big step to get in for showering, some old furniture-but still comfy. Heat only blows to the first floor, but does move throughout the house, and for sleeping plenty of warm blankets were available. We really enjoyed fires in the family room fireplace. There are plenty of board games for kids and adults. The kitchen is quite large and well equipped. Two dishwashers and a fridge and a half. The glassed in dining area, with a view of the bay was used for all meals at the home, and was enjoyed immensely. One night we were treated to a wonderful aurora borealis show in the sky outside the home! Wow! We were close to Acadia NP, Bar Harbor, not too far from Ellsworth— pretty convenient. On the days didn’t rain we saw beautiful sunrises from the many east facing windows on the main floor, as well as several of the bedrooms. Thank you.

Fortunate

Our recent leadership retreat at this beautiful seaside retreat was an absolute delight. The home’s picturesque views of the harbor and surrounding area provided a serene and inspiring backdrop for our team discussions and bonding activities. The balance between classic charm and updated conveniences made our stay both comfortable and nostalgic, offering a unique experience that catered to various preferences within our group. The well-equipped kitchen, spacious living, and dining areas were perfect for our group activities, and the variety of bedrooms on different floors allowed for a mix of privacy and communal space. The cozy atmosphere, especially by the fireplace, and the peaceful porch made for delightful moments of relaxation and connection. The property’s character and modern amenities created an atmosphere that was both inviting and practical, contributing to an exceptional retreat experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a harmonious blend of classic allure and contemporary comfort. the owners’ warm hospitality and attentiveness added an extra layer of comfort to our stay. Their care and responsiveness to our needs were exceptional, making our experience all the more enjoyable. Their dedication truly enhanced our retreat, ensuring a seamless and pleasant stay throughout.
