The townhouse was shabby and run down.
I had planned on doing outer Thanksgiving cooking in the oven. The oven Nov was broken off and I wasn’t sure how well it would function . It was so dark in the apartment, it felt like a dungeon. The first night was so freezing in the bedrooms that I ended up staying elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Great location and access to UNC and Carrboro
The apartment was comfortable and in a good location, with access to UNC and easy driving distance to Carrboro and Durham. It was very quiet and so nice to be able to take a short walk through the woods to the Root Cellar Cafe and Flyleaf Bookstore. Very helpful to have space and amenities for cooking!

Good price and a mile from the square…looks like pics and was clean. It would really benefit from new paint and new furniture. Bed was comfy and overall was pleased for our short stay.

The property is older but in a great location with a fabulous walking trail across the street, close to campus, and near plenty of food choices. Neighbors were friendly as well.

Roomy, convenient unit near UNC
This property was exactly as advertised. Eric, the property owner, was super responsive and accommodating. He was able to have the property ready for an early check in and was quick to answer any questions. The AC stopped working on our second day, which was a Sunday, and Eric responded immediately and had a repair person on site within an hour. It was quickly fixed. The unit is a lot of space for the price. It is clean and comfortable and has a nice layout. The furniture does show some wear and tear but still comfortable (and I understand from other reviews that Eric is holding off on investing more money in the property until the city of Chapel Hill resolves some VRBO questions). Overall, a good choice of a place to stay and it worked very well for our group (two adults, two kids, two large dogs). There is a wonderful restaurant called Lucha Tigre and a great independent bookstore called Flyleaf Books in the small shopping area that is about a 40 foot walk through a short cut. The walk to Franklin Street is almost entirely uphill but a good work out (and the walk home is much easier :). A nice paved, wooded trail is close by for dog walks, jogging, etc.

Wooded retreat near UNC
Great location, really close to UNC campus. Easy check in and out. Could use better cleaning of kitchen before check in and the furniture in living room was old and stained. The bathrooms were clean as were all bedding/towels etc. Beds were comfortable, place was quiet. Oven, washer and dryer, fridge, toaster oven and coffee pot all worked fine. Super hot weekend pushed the air conditioner to malfunction and leak some water, but the manager was very helpful and friendly and it wasn't a problem. (Floor on 1st level is stamped concrete). The walkway outside property is tree lined with a fish pond, so cute! Second floor deck was nice and private looking into the trees. The place is great, could use a full kitchen scrub down and reorganize, update couch and loveseat, steam clean or replace upstairs carpet and it would be excellent! We will be back : -)

Could not finish packing for our move😥
Although we have stayed here before, we were packing for a cross-country move. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to finish packing in time to make our reservation. The last time we stayed it was great, so I’m sure it would have been this time also.

Perfect for UNC Graduation
The location was perfect for UNC activities and dining, etc. We did find the apartment a bit dark and the linens can use some updating (and more than 5 towels would be a big improvement. However the location and price made it worthwhile. We accidentally left something behind and I am disappointed that the manager has not responded to my request to figure out a way to have it returned.

Very comfortable
I stayed in Unit 6 whilst in Chapel Hill to visit my son who is a student at UNC. Eric was very helpful and contacted me to make sure I had everything I needed. The condo was comfy and clean, nothing fancy...just the way I like it. I will stay here again.

Comfortable Retreat Convenient to Chapel Hill
Affordable accommodation in wooded setting within close proximity to town center and University of NC at Chapel Hill. Well, it was very hot during our visit ... the Property Manager kindly had the A/C turned on prior to our arrival and all systems were in fine working order for our stay. We particularly enjoyed the landscaping which included a small pool/ fountain that was home to the indigenous frog chorus ... delightful!

It was just what we needed!
This fully furnished condo was perfect for our get-away to Chapel Hill for a birthday celebration. We needed to bring our dog and Eric was very accommodating. The bed was very comfy and the surroundings were so quiet. My husband even spotted a hawk in one of the trees. Thank you again!

Location is great.
Walking distance to UNC and Franklin Street. A late night disturbance due to the UNC basketball game was quickly remedied. Questions about the rental were addressed. I encourage future renters to immediately contact the office if you have questions. Erik has a southern hospitality which we were so thankful for finding in an area so new to us.

Location, location, location.
This property is close to all the action. It is an easy block or two to the bus that takes you all around UNC campus. It is also only two blocks to some restaurants including Asian food and a French bistro that served dinner ( no breakfast so may want to pre buy something or their is a gas station walkable that may have supplies). Every morning we cooked eggs as the kitchen was well stocked for our four night stay. We spent a day at UNC and was amazed by how beautiful it was and how friendly the people were. It was also an easy drive to explore Weaver Street Market in Carrboro. The second day we toured Duke and NC state which were a 20-25 minute drive away. Our last day we did not have a car and checked the "book" in the townhome. It told us how to get on the walking trail ( two blocks away) that ended two blocks from a mall. We took sidewalks for the last two blocks and went to the movies and ate at Village Burger. It was very convenient. We enjoyed have two bedrooms ( one with a queen the other with a bunk and a single) and a full bath and half bath. Not having to share a room or bath with our two teens is always a plus. The only thing I would mention ( and this I believe is a new VRBO/ HomeAway thing) when booking there is an added cost to your total. Again this is not an InnTown Rentals thing as other rentals we used through this service also tacked on this fee. It is still a great price but ends up costing a little more because of that.

Great location and good value.
The unit was clean and orderly. Everything worked (a/c,etc.). Such a bonus to have a kitchen and full size washer and dryer for a 7 day vacation college hunting. Parking was good, even for my full size pickup. While there could be some updating done, it's tough to beat the price and location. We enjoyed our stay.

Location, Location, Location!!! Comfortable though dated
Convenient to UNC and the UNC Hospitals; a short walk on a private path brings you to several wonderful (The Kitchen, acclaimed) restaurants; easy access to the Bolin Creek Trail (paved) was a perfect spot for walking our two small dogs.... The owner-host is very accommodating and easily reached. The unit was clean and the paint fresh, however, it has dark woodwork making the interior unit's 1st floor seem dark. The internet service was good. We never turned the TV on, so cannot comment on that. We would return except for one party's bad knee, which was aggregated by the stairs. Then again, maybe it will be replaced! For most travelers this is a good spot to stay at a very reasonable price.

Great price, great owner, fantastic location
I spent a week in May of 2016 at this property. I found it to be a great value for anyone looking to visit Chapel Hill, NC for a night or even an extended stay. Here are the really great things about the condo: I studied at UNC for a year so I am relatively familiar with the area. In my opinion this condo is very well situated to campus and all that Chapel Hill has to offer. Though the climb up Hillsborough is somewhat steep, walking to Franklin Street and the UNC Campus from the condo is not difficult. The condo is also somewhat secluded and the two bedroom unit that I stayed in had a generous patio on the ground level and deck just off the second floor main bedroom. Parking was also not an issue and I did not hear any noise from neighbors - even though most units appeared to be occupied when I stayed. The interior is actually nicer than it appears on VRBO. I was pleasantly surprised. In my unit at least, the ground level had colored concrete floors. The upstairs is carpeted, but the carpet was very clean. It is also well laid out and quite spacious with 1.5 bathrooms. There is also ample closet space. I was alone, but I can't see why a family of four would not be very comfortable in the condo. The WiFi internet was reliable and quick, at least when I needed to use it. The A/C was also very reliable and could cool the condo down relatively quickly. I was also very impressed with the level of detail the owner provided prior to check-in. He was also very responsive to emails. Here are the not so great things about the condo: It was generally quite clean when I checked in but there were some cobwebs hanging from the ceiling especially in the stairwell. It would also really help if someone vacuumed under the couch cushions. The kitchen is in dire need of a refresh. The appliances are ancient. The dishwasher handle appeared to require duct tape to keep it shut. I imagine it worked fine, but did not want to experiment. The cabinets are towards the low end of contractor grade. The upstairs deck should probably be replaced or at least refinished and repaired. Lastly, if you like to cook, bring your own knives and non-stick saucepan. The knives in the condo are dull and of low quality. All that being said, at this very reasonable price point I don't expect most guests (including me) would expect brand new appliances and cutlery throughout. In addition, the washing machine and dryer did appear to be new. I would absolutely stay here again.

Home away from home
We are retired and in our seventies. We have been coming down to N.C. to watch spring sports at the local colleges for a few years now. This year we searched for a place to stay short term where we could have a patio, or deck for our wine time every evening. We were soooo happy to find Chapel Hill Inn Town. The location was perfect, and we got a deck, and a patio with wooded view. We could cook out in the provided outdoor grill, or in cooler weather, enjoy a real fireplace in our living room. The kitchen was well stocked, and it was great to have our own washer and dryer in the unit. We will return next year !
