Why they chose this property
I was raised on the east side of Troy, the youngest child of a physician and an artist in a family of ten. I have lived in Troy, on and off ever since, after living in Europe, New York City and Hudson, New York.
I sold my home of 20 years near RPI in 2020. It was the home I raised my daughter in and she will be graduating from CUNY Hunter in the sping of 2024!
After selling my home, I lived and worked in Berkshire County from 2021-2023, when I first found this dream property in the spring of 2023. I knew I had to move heaven and earth to make it my own!
Fast forward, I closed on the property at the end of October 2023 and I am back in my home town, Troy, New York once again.
It is hear that I will transform this property into a peacefull oasis.
My ideas are still fleshing out for the property as I have not lived here for a full year yet, but I am having a blast with my sisters again, who are all behind the project 100%!

What makes this property unique
The Boathouse is situated on the shore of the Hudson River in the oldest and most historic section of downtown Troy's Lansinburgh neighborhood.
The view West from my 60 foot deck, bedroom, living room and gardens are of Van Schaick Island, Peebles Island State Park (forever wild) and Waterford, which is in Saratoga County.
The Boathouse was built as a function in 1950 for the historic dutch colonial farmhouse across the street which is proported to be the oldest house in not just Lansingburgh, but Troy.
Around 1900, the boathouse was sold off to a group of wealthy Lansingburgh business men, who added the deck to the property during renovations, and opened the Sans Souci Club House. You may read more about their activities during that time on the Lansingburg Historical Society web page or I can tell you more about it when you arrive!
In the 1970's the house was owned by an engineer who built the seawall along the beach, which protects the property from flooding. He was reported to have gone to the roof to hit golfballs off into the river from the widows walk! He also entertained a great deal and had a full bathroom with Kayak racks built in the basement, so that guests could boat up to the house, store their kayaks and shower before coming upstairs for dinner in the evening.
I purchase the home from a couple I was long aquanted with that retired to Nova Scotia/Florida after selling the property to me.
