Florence Oregon, Enjoy Walks on the Beach or Relax by the Fire
Kickback, relax and enjoy the sound of the Ocean in our immaculate, nearly new Cape Cod Cottage. Built in 2006 our home was inspired by my lovely wife Valerie who as a child spent many summer vacations with her family 'At the Cape'. Flexibility is the key word when describing our home because it can be a cozy get away for two or a family reunion for ten.
We are a short 2 minute walk to the beach where crashing waves and beautiful sunsets are sure to amaze and inspire. Take romantic walks on the beach or if you already did that and now you have the 'kids' bring a lawn chair, a bottle of wine (beer works too) and some beach toys. Whatever your plan is nothing beats a day at the beach especially if you don't have to drive home!
When your day at the beach comes to an end, take a nice relaxing hot outdoor shower, mix a cocktail and fire up the BBQ. Life is good!

My family and I have stayed in this property 2 times. It is a beautiful property and a short walk to the beach. We love it there and would stay again when in Florence.
We had a wonderful 3-day birthday trip for us ladies and our your pups

This rental was right by the beach and being able to walk there in 5 minutes was a great plus. The house was relatively well appointed and there were fun Beach toys for the kids in the garage. The cons were 1) there were only 8 dining room chairs so it would have been nice if there were a couple spared folding chairs or something for meals 2) The bedspreads had pet fur on them and some stains, not sure when they were washed last 3) there were not 10 sleeping spots, would have been nice to have a spare mattress 4) the washer was broken and we couldn't wash the blankets 5) the can opener did not work. As an aside the fence around the house looked like it needed a serious repainting but didn't affect the function of our stay. Also, with 10 people having a 1.5 bath was a little cramped. Overall a decent stay w awesome proximity to the beach and we would stay again with a smaller group and a working washer.
We had a very nice stay. The home suit the needs of our family very well. The photos were not completely accurate with the bed formation but ended up working out wonderfully. We loved the layout and comfortable beds. The sofa pillows and that of the window seat could use a good cleaning. Also, we had to go to the store to buy hand soap for the bathrooms and we had issues with the lock box and key, but the location was excellent!
This place was beyond adorable, comfortable, and in one of the best locations we could hoped for. My parents, husband, 3 year old, and 2 dogs had plenty of room and made ourselves at home here. We plan on returning in the future!
Every time we go back to this house, it is like returning to a family vacation home. It is cozy during a storm and so close to the ocean you can listen to the waves and enjoy the wind year round. Summers at the coast are the absolute best.
The house was clean, well equipped and in a great location. The brand new beds were awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed, but I would bring my own pots next time, as theirs are hard to clean. They left us about four rolls of toilet paper for five days, so we needed six more. The thorn patch is to the right of the patio, close to the road. The top bunk was not replaced when they got new beds, but there are several sleeping options in the living room. The house is beautifully decorated in an ocean theme. We had a very nice visit and appreciate the owners very much!
We had a great time with the house. We loved that is was a 5 minute walk from the Beach. The house was a cute little house just perfect for our family.
There were a couple items that were not perfect. We ran out of toilets paper and hand soap on day two and checked everywhere and could not find anything. The fire alarm kept going off so we finally took out the battery and also noticed there were a couple of other fire alarms that didn’t have their batteries also.
But we loved the house and location.
We're 4 senior ladys. The house was really cute and close to the beach. We had to search for a few things. You could use less table spoons and more teaspoon but it worked out. Some labeling might help. All in all great two days.
Ill leave some honest pros and cons.
Pros: Big enough for 2 families to come together for the holidays.
Pet friendly and owner was generous enough to charge us an additional 200 bucks so we could all have our fur babies there for christmas. Another pro was the beds had obviously been updated as i thought they were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed but the coffee pot was tiny tiny.
Cons..... Discustingly dirty! I mean dirty. I understand it is a rental on the beach but the amount of sand and grime on EVERY surface was awful. We spent our first day cleaning and were a little miffed by the additional cleaning fee when cleanliness and sanitation obviously wasnt taken serious by the housekeeper.
We did appreciate the christmas tree being set up. We would look somewhere else next time due to lack of cleanliness.. . Also there was a flier that mentioned a refund of a cleaning deposit in the dining area that should be removed if you dont honor refundable cleaning deposits. We left ot cleaner than we found it, thats for sure.
All of the beds were bad. Sagging in the center. The area rugs and some other furnishings were so shabby. Updates needed. BUT, the location is great and the place itself was good.
The house has a great layout and allows for multiple families to stay comfortably and gather in a common area for dinners and games. Overall we loved the house and it worked well for our needs. It was a dog friendly house and the backyard was fenced for the kids to play outside and enjoy the fire pit. It was also nice to have the additional seating outside at the two outdoor tables when the weather was nice.
The only drawback was that there are some areas desperately needing some updating… primarily the beds and linens. I had read previous reviews about bed concerns and I guessed that it would have been addressed over the past couple years, not so. The beds in the bunk room are so hard that our family
members were needing to pull the cushions from other areas in the house to help make the beds a little more comfortable. The main bed upstairs is horrible and well past it’s prime. The bed is a super saggy & soft mattress with a hole in the middle, the box spring has creases along the side because it folds up so much it doesn’t support the mattress anymore. The bed in the master bedroom was the only bed that didn’t have complaints from family and guests… even after switching sleeping arrangements around to find the best way to accommodate everyone based on the bed concerns. The linens could also use a refresh as they were limited for a house that sleeps 10 for a week.
The house and location are wonderful but the horrible beds were too painful!
The beds for our children and grandchildren were hard, painful and horrible. The owners of the home had a mattress pad on their mattress but nothing to soften the mattresses for the other 5 guest beds. I saw pictures of grandchildren on the wall and really question why a parent or grandparent would ever force a child or adult to sleep on hard beds. The bedding in the room with the bunk beds were ripped up and torn. The pans in the kitchen all need to be replaced. Please set aside money from the rental fees to replace the hard mattresses, buy new bedding sheets and comforters and provide better pans for cooking.
What a lovely place to stay! Everything was perfect - even the rain to sun weather each day. We al needed up sick so we were able to rest and relax and still have some fun with the girls over spring break. Highlight was going to the sea lion cave for the girls and sand dunes for the hubby. Loved this house - super comfortable. We had absolutely no reason to contact the owner as everything was perfectly laid out.
My 4 year old played in the sand in the backyard the majority of the time it was great. Close walk to the beach, great location. Spacious and plenty of room for our group. Would definitely rent again!
This spacious house was perfect for five friends to chill for the weekend. Short walk to beach, short drive to hikes. Check-in simple, house was clean, fenced yard was perfect for friend’s dog. Definitely will be looking to stay here again.
Great place to stay for a cozy visit to Heceta Beach!
We really enjoyed our three night stay with our dogs. The house is bright and yet has that perfect cozy coast feel. It was well equipped with a fenced yard. Great beach access just a minute walk away.
This home was cozy. Each time a new family member walked in the door they said they liked it and it was "cozy"...funny how we all used the same word. Loved the wood burning stove, lots of windows for light, garage for dropping off groceries when it rained, had it's own laundry room, love the upstairs room and half bath, Lots of seating in the living room around the flat screen. Big table, enough room for all of us to sit at, the dishwasher was super quiet. the place was clean, spic and span. Couches and window seating were comfortable. I asked if there was a Christmas tree set up, owner didn't know, but sure enough I showed up and the tree was there and beautifully decorated. Cute little neighborhood bar down the street that had the football game on that wasn't available on Spectrum. People at the bar were friendly. It was raining so we didn't go to the beach but we could see it was just a few minutes away on foot. Kids movies available, adult moviies. One room also had a flat screen besides the living area. The freezer froze our ice FAST!!! We all enjoyed this home and will always remember this family Christmas. THank you.
Very nice. This place was exactly what we were looking for. Check in was simple. There was no need to communicate with the property manager because everything was great. We didn’t use the backyard fire pit because of rain, but it is a nice touch.

Great house and fenced yard. Short walk to the beach! I thought this house was great. Could use some new beds and a deep clean, but other than that I have no complaints!

Valerie and I have been together for 10 years now and we have 3 children ages 3-7 so we understand the importance of the 'getaway' from our busy lives. We love to take the kids to the coast and create the pages of memories that will make up the book of our life but, it is the time spent and the memories created with the one you fell in love with that is the glue that holds those pages together.
Why they chose this property
We love Florence. The old town shopping, Dune buggy rides, Horse back riding, Golfing, Beach combing, Whale watching, Hiking I could go on and on. Bottom line is Val and I both felt Florence is a place we could build a lifetime of 'fun'memories with our family.
What makes this property unique
Our home is nearly new so it is 'nice and tight' what i mean by that is when its cold outside its nice and warm inside because the doors and windows don't leak it has a forced air heating system and a Lopi wood burning stove (firewood included) all the modern appliances, 1 car garage and a fenced yard for the pooch!
