Cute mountain getaway

We (11 people, had the 11th person approved) stayed at the Bear Den over Thanksgiving. It is located in a neighborhood, up a mountain in Fleetwood. The driveway is flat, and the house is easily accessible from it. We loved that the foyer was large enough for all of our winter jackets and shoes. We have family that live about 10 minutes away, so it was perfect for us. My SIL and I were in charge of a few Thanksgiving meals, we did buy foil tins to use but found that the kitchen was equipped with everything needed to prepare the food. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were used and worked well. We used the drip coffee maker but I think there was a Keurig too. The beds were all comfortable. We did have a 22-year-old sleep on the bottom bunk with the younger kids because we just fit the number of beds but he was comfortable and not crowded. We all took advantage of the game room. Some also used the hot tub and had a visit from deer which the kids thought was cool. There is a small office upstairs which was used for a business call. No problem with showers, some showered at night and some in the morning but we never had a problem with hot water. We did shop in the local towns, West Jefferson (15min), Boone (30min), and Blowing Rock (40min). Check-in and check-out was easy. Communication with the owner was always fast and they were so kind.

Rustic meets Modern perfection!

This cabin is truly wonderful, offering ample space for a large family spanning all ages, from children to seniors. It features delightful hidden gems like cozy office spaces and reading nooks. The front and back yards are beautifully maintained, and every amenity was thoughtfully provided. The value of this cabin is exceptional, and we hope to make it a regular destination. Fleetwood Falls is a magical mountain community, and this cabin is perfectly situated to explore all its best parts. Thank you to the owners for sharing your home with us!

Great neighborhood, house has great layout

We are a family of 8 adults for a long weekend to the mountains. This house and neighborhood were great. Neighborhood was nestled on a mountain, easy to get to and we felt safe and not too close to the neighbors. The house layout gave us all the sleeping arrangements we needed and gave us space since it was 3 floors. Kitchen was well stocked as we cooked most of our meals, used the fire pit and hot tub. Weather was a bit rainy so we spent most of our time inside playing games in the family room downstairs and also the den on the main level. The kitchen table sat all 8 of us great. We did float and fish in the neighborhood pond/lake. Sarah was wonderful to work with.

Celebration weekend

My family came to the mountains to celebrate my son graduating with his Master's from Appalachian State University. In addition, we celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday& Mothers Day. We had 9 adults. There was plenty of rooms to sleep & the dining table had space to spare. In the well stocked kitchen, Nanny made a big breakfast every morning. We opened gifts, laughed, made memories, & popped open bottles of champagne on the back porch. One of the best houses, we have rented in the Boone area over the last 6 years! Thank you for the wonderful weekend!!

Perfect Getaway for Adults and Kids

Sarah is an excellent and very responsive host. We left something at the cabin and she went above and beyond to return it to us! Our kids (ages 4-11) loved the game room, the grown ups loved the hot tub and everyone loved being in the fresh mountain air. The cabin has the perfect amount of space for everyone to be together and get still have their privacy which is important for 8 people and a dog after several days. ◡̈ Very close to both Boone and Blowing Rock and we even made a trip over to Grandfather Mountain as well.

Friends Getaway

Enjoyed a holiday getaway with old and dear friends. The house is cozy and quaint. It was clean and well kept. A little smaller than anticipated, but good friends make it work. It’s a hike up the mountain, but worth it and we enjoyed the lake area to let the dogs out and play. Sarah is very responsive and friendly.

I'm Sarah, and my husband, Tyler, and I love the challenge of setting the example of an active lifestyle for our two young kids. We’ve traveled the country with them, and they especially love when we rent vacation houses where our family and friends both near and far can gather. We’re excited to present this opportunity to you to share this passion and gather at our decked out cabin with your family and friends to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Why they chose this property

Fleetwood is an amazing little town nestled in Western North Carolina. It lies right on the south fork of the New River, which is great for tubing, kayaking, fishing, and overall scenic beauty. Our neighborhood has a community lake that we spend most of our time at, playing around and teaching our dog to swim.
The proximity to West Jefferson was a huge selling point for us. We love to go downtown to visit the farmer's market, grab lunch, and walk around town.

What makes this property unique

Our property has something for everyone. We really focused on making sure there were options for everyone, along with space for everyone to gather together.
