We loved being in a smaller area. It was quiet and beautiful. It takes longer to drive to many places (rain forest, the ocean, Hurricane Ridge...) but the quiet location makes the tradeoff easy.
The house has some quirks - like an overly complicated system for turning lights on and off. But overall, a lovely place.
The property is very clean and very beautiful.. situated on a little outcropping into the bay... it is landscaped very nice and the interior has a bit of a worn and comfy look If you cook you will love the kitchen. it has every feature... warming ovens... cold drawers... and lots of tools.
we also rented kayaks and that was amazing... water was calm and pretty clear.
get your groceries long before you get to the house... as there is only a small general store nearby
we had a wonderful time... there are a few waterfalls close by and many hiking trails of various lengths.
In truth the property is stunning... just some odd rules... that had us questioning why they are renting...
if you decide to go this route you will not be dissapointed in the house and where it is positioned.
Quality home furnishings and kitchen with outstanding views. A very relaxing atmospheres. Decent parking and lots of privacy. Master bedroom very romantic. Everything top notch. We didn’t want to leave.👍
The views are amazing and the house is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay - we
explored Olympic National Park and alternated with rest days at the house. The drives to ONP were very long so I wouldn't recommend this house to explore the park, but there are a TON of other recreation areas and state parks close by. In hindsight, I would have planned our trip differently and made the most of our time closer to the house. We would love to stay here again if we have the opportunity in the future.
Stunning property on a beautiful peninsula lot! We didn’t want to leave! The whole family loved this place! Really well appointed, luxury cottage on the water! Will definitely go back! Highly recommended!
This place is in a great location on a point overlooking Hood Canal, with an awesome view and nice areas to hang out outside (provided you bring enough DEET). You are pretty close to the neighbors, but it feels reasonably private.
The kitchen is great, and it's complimented by a huge outdoor grill with plumbed-in gas, so cooking went really well.
I had family coming into town and rented the Madrona Waterfront Splendor for 7 nights. We had a wonderful stay. It was very peaceful and quiet. The house sits right on the Hood Canal. The master bedroom was very spacious had a nice bathroom and a cute deck off the side. The larger bedroom on the main floor was also very spacious and was right across from the bathroom . The rest of the house was very roomy and the property sits on a point. Every moring we saw seals and were fortunate to also see bald eagles, herons and may other birds. The kitchen is pretty well appointed and the dining area easily seats 6. There was plenty of room for us all. The house over all was clean and the house is in great shape. I highly reccommend.
The home/view was beautiful, but we were disappointed in the basic supplies. There was absolutely no cooking oils or basic condiments in the kitchen. It would have been nice if it was stocked with the basics to get us through for a couple days. The whole house only had 4 bath towels for 6 people. The water heater couldn’t keep up with 2 people, let alone 6. There was no lighter to start a camp fire. With this house being a 20 minute drive from any store, it made it difficult to get supplies easily. I also thought the rule of only being allowed 2 garbage bags during your stay ($10 charge for each additional), was ridiculous!
An excellent vacation home rental, great location with awesome views.
The home had everything including upgraded appliances that included separate cooling drawers and a warming drawer. The master shower was two thumbs up. The views of the canal, the bald eagles, the harbor seals and fire pit made it difficult for us to get away to adventure out for daily hikes. The local restaurants were also very inviting. We loved Hamma Hamma Oyster Saloon and Geoducks. We are already discussing returning to this same property in the future. This is an awesome place! My comments don’t give it enough justice. We all loved it!
After searching VRBO for the perfect home to rent for my boyfriend’s birthday weekend, I settled on the Madrona Waterfront Splendor located in Brinnon, WA on Hoods Canal.
Upon arrival we began preparing dinner and I realized after a few hours of running the hot water on and off there was no hot water. We checked the hot water heater and it appeared to be shut off. There was a button we turned on and it started running, still no hot after two more hours . No showers Thursday night in the spectator double head tile shower. Friday morning, I phoned the management group and left a message. After no response for an hour and half I phoned again and Andres, the officer manager picked up. Andres came to the home and could not determine why the water heater was not functioning. We told him it was the element that appeared to be out. Andres let us know if he could not get it fixed, he could offer us one of their other rental properties to shower and he would refund us for our down time with no hot water, perfect.
We were then told there are no available properties for us to shower, and they could offer us a one-star hotel in Quilcene or shower tokens for the State Park. Quilcene is a 35-mile round trip and the only hotel I am familiar with is $65 a night and nothing remotely comparable to the five-star property we rented.
Saturday morning a plumber showed up and changed out the element. By the time the water finally heated it is 2:00 pm Saturday, dirty dishes are stacked up with no clean dishes left to use and still no hot showers up until this point. Two out of three days of our vacation is gone waiting for property management and plumbers to fix the problem.
I understand these things happen and we were extremely patient through the entire process knowing we would be refunded for our time without hot water.
We were only refunded one night stay out of the two nights without hot water and this is what I have an issue with. Why one night and not two when we were out hot water for two full days? We were unable to leave the home to do our planned activities Friday and most of Saturday, big disappointment. Maybe in the future they can send out a maintenance technician who knows what the issue is, I believe this could have been rectified Friday.
I will not rent from Brinnon Windermere again due to the way they managed communication and refunding us for the time spent dealing with this issue and no hot water.
We had a fabulous Christmas holiday and truly loved everything about the home including the views and location. It was clean and the kitchen was fabulous to work in. We loved the warming drawer. With all the great things to offer there was only one item that disappointed us but was not worth making a stink about because we had so much fun. That was the lack of the fireplace. The fireplace was working but we were told we could not use it. It was shown in the pictures as lit but there was evidently fine print that we didn’t realize was in the listing that it was not usable for some reason. With the snow falling Christmas Eve and reading night before Christmas, with our stockings hung from the mantle, it would’ve been nice to have the warm fire. All in all we had a spectacular time thank you and thank you jolene.
I loved our stay. Exquisite home with well appointed amenities, comfortable beds, and absolutely beautiful views. We celebrated Christmas a bit early while staying here, and it was just lovely. Thank you for providing such an amazing home for our family getaway.
The location of this house on the point is fabulous. Loons calling, seals splashing, incredible sunrises! The living room with vaulted windows is stunning. The house has a very well-stocked kitchen. And the waterfall shower in the main bathroom was a delightful experience! We loved our stay here!
This property was amazing!! Morning coffee on the deck with eagles soaring. Beautiful view and access to the crystal clear water. We paddle boarded, swam, and went crabbing. This house is well stocked with everything you need. Great indoor and outdoor spaces. Already booked another trip for the fall.
Madrona waterfront splendor is exactly as described. The views aré amazing, The home is spotless clean, kitchen is well stocked, bedrooms are very comfortable. The upstairs shower is fabulous! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the future.
The home — and view — is every bit as beautiful as shown online. Great family hike one day @ Olympic National Forest, fresh oysters from the beach and fun family meals soaking in all the amazing, expansive views. Beautiful sunrises over the water taken in from the main bedroom deck. Would love to visit again in summer to kayak. This is a really special place.
We've never been to Washington and we wanted a woodsy out of the way experience and this place was ideal! Don't get me wrong this place would be ideal in any season. The water is clear and pristine, the wildlife abundant and busy and the house is the perfect setting for enjoying the area. We loved the quiet of all hours. One of the best parts of the house is the fully equipped kitchen and great grill.
