About this property

Cabin In Knife River, uniquely designed, secluded but near attractions.

Nestled amidst the serene wilderness of Knife River, our one-of-a-kind rental cabin, aptly named the "Knife River Cabin," promises an extraordinary getaway experience like no other. With its blend of innovative design, natural beauty, and modern amenities, this cabin redefines the meaning of a perfect retreat.

As you approach the cabin, the first thing that captures your attention is the striking Shou Sugi Ban siding. The ancient Japanese technique of charring cedar planks lends the cabin an air of rustic elegance that seamlessly merges with the surrounding forest. The scent of the wood and the visual texture of the charred finish make for an unforgettable first impression.

Stepping inside, you'll find yourself standing on gleaming polished concrete floors. What sets this cabin apart is the mesmerizing glow-in-the-dark aggregate embedded in the concrete. By day, the floors appear as a sleek and modern gray; by night, they transform into a starry expanse beneath your feet, casting an otherworldly ambiance throughout the living space. It's a magical feature that invokes a sense of wonder, perfect for stargazing indoors.

The centerpiece of the living room is an enchanting tile fireplace that beckons you to unwind and cozy up after a day of exploring the great outdoors. As you lounge by the fireplace, the radiant heat warms your skin, and the meticulously chosen tiles paint a vibrant and captivating backdrop, creating a tranquil atmosphere that invites relaxation and reflection.

The Knife River Cabin boasts two masterfully designed bathrooms. Both bathrooms feature tilework that is nothing short of a work of art, offering a soothing and captivating visual experience during your daily routines.

A highlight of the cabin is the private sauna, tucked away like a hidden gem. The moment you step inside, the enveloping heat and the scent of cedar create a profound sense of relaxation. As you unwind, the stress of everyday life melts away, leaving you refreshed and invigorated. It's the perfect place to rejuvenate your body and soul.

The living space seamlessly flows into an open-concept kitchen and dining area, equipped with modern appliances and everything you need to whip up delicious meals.

However, the true pièce de résistance of the Knife River Cabin is its breathtaking view. Large windows and an uninterrupted panorama of the surrounding wilderness. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee as the sun rises over the horizon or stargazing at night, the view from this cabin is an ever-changing masterpiece of nature's artistry. You'll feel as though you're on top of the world, with a front-row seat to the beauty of Knife River's untouched landscape.

In conclusion, the Knife River Cabin is not just a place to stay; it's an experience that will leave you in awe of nature's beauty and human ingenuity. From the glow-in-the-dark floors to the Shou Sugi Ban siding, from the enchanting tilework to the soothing sauna, every detail has been carefully considered to provide you with a truly unique and unforgettable escape. Come immerse yourself in the magic of this cabin and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Beautiful and relaxing retreat into nature

This beautifully crafted cabin was just the comfortable and luxurious home base we were after for our time in Knife River. The cabin was meticulously clean, well stocked with extras if needed, and we appreciated the fans in each bedroom as well as the yoga mat and sauna. Will stay again!

Great property and stay

Highly recommend this beautiful and comfortable home. Could not have asked for more. Hosts were fantastic. Loved the location - close to so many hiking trails and both Two Harbors and Duluth. Would recommend and look forward to staying here again in the future.

Spring Break Family Retreat

We tried something different on the North Shore booking a property inland versus on the lake. It was a great decision - the property offers breathtaking view of the forests for miles, enhanced by the snowstorm from the day below combined with bright sunshine. The unit was very clean with an open design. Kitchen was very well furnished with quality utensils and dishes. Loved the sauna. Location is conveniently located between Two Harbors and Duluth. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Home - Inaccurate Listing & Check-in Process

This home is stunning and is as magical as the listing stated…no complaints at all with the home or location! In fact we’d love to stay again. The listing states that it sleeps 6 (which I booked it for) but there are beds for only 5. I confirmed with that the house sleeps 6 with the host but when arrived it only sleeps 5 unless you count the couch in the living room. Not ideal given there are no drapes or blinds on the gorgeous floor to ceiling windows. Additionally in the photos it called out there was an elevator and a spiral staircase - I have a sister that cannot manage the staircase in the evening due to vision issues so the elevator was vital. There’s no elevator…bummer that it was inaccurate as she had to sleep on the floor with the bathrooms (both are on main floor). The check-in process emailed to me was inaccurate based on what the listing check-in process stated. 1. Listing check-in time was 3:00 / email check-in time was 4:00 2. Listing pet allowance 3 (pet friendly) / email allowance was none and included a cleaning fee if pets were known to be staying at the house 3. The door access process was different on the listing compared to the email (not sharing details purposely) The hosts did address these inaccuracies and offered a credit but wanted to share because we received these details after traveling 3 hours to Duluth - we panicked. Lastly, there are no blinds or drapes other than on the sliding door in the primary - it was very bright in the morning!
