Located in Kill Devil Hills on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina, The Blue Oasis is nestled in a small, quiet neighborhood, about a five minute walk to the beach.

Don't judge a book by its cover. We've been told many times that the exterior doesn't do the interior justice. This cottage and surrounding property is for non-smokers only. It is well furnished and larger than you would expect. The Blue Oasis is a newly updated cottage perfect for that cozy, beach getaway.

This beautifully decorated home is ideal for 2 families with 2 queen size bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and a fully stocked, eat-in kitchen on the first floor. The second floor, which is accessed through the kitchen door or side entrance for privacy, has a family room, full bath, queen bedroom, and a bedroom with a pyramid bunk (double on bottom, twin on top) and an additional twin.
We provide Wifi and Roku TV's in both living rooms and each bedroom with HDMI cables attached to hook up to your own devices. Each TV includes subscriptions to both Disney+ and Netflix.

This cozy cottage offers a really awesome, fenced-in, spacious backyard entertainment space, complete with a BRAND NEW hot tub, a NEW Blackstone Culinary Griddle, an outdoor sectional sofa with covered dining table, picnic table, above-ground, fenced-in children's pool (9' in diameter and 28" tall at water line), fire pit, hammock, swing, clothesline, a shed with yard and beach equipment, and an outdoor shower stall.

There is parking for at least 4 vehicles with street parking also available. The beach is within an easy 5 minute walk, and there are many restaurants, stores, and attractions within a short distance.

Our rates may vary day by day. Please select your period to see the exact price for your selected dates. We have a 7 night minimum stay during our peak season from May 25th-August 31st, with check-in and check-out on Saturday only. Towels and linens are included.

**Due to the serious allergies of some of our most frequent guests, we do not allow any animals at our property.
**PLEASE NOTE: The guest making the reservation must be at least 25 years old and must be among the group staying at The Blue Oasis.This cottage is for non-smokers only, both inside as well as outside on our property, due to the severe allergies of owners as well as frequent guests.

Blue Oasis

Good location, near everything including a nearby stop light to get across traffic and a short walk to beach. The kids (even the big ones) enjoyed the little pool and the hot tub was great after a long drive and the treks across the dunes. Perfect size for our group and the beach toys and amenities provided were an added bonus. The hostess was very helpful and provided alot of local information and detailed instructions making checkin/checkout and everything in between an easy process.

Charming place that truly has it all!!!

This home has the perfect location (just a block from the beach!!). The owners think of it all: charming and comfortable back yard with a fenced in (larger than you think) cowboy pool, hammock, picnic table, hottub, flat top grill, and comfy couch. The yard is private and the neighbors are quiet! The house includes the BEST beach cart, tent, chair, boogie boards and more! This alone is worth the rental! The house is immaculately kept, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are larger than you expect AND their are games, puzzles, etc. the kitchen in has every gadget you could want (ninja blender, pancake griddle, waffle maker, rice cooker , wok, cookie cutters, every pan you could want and even an apron!!! The upstairs rooms have their own living room, HUGE bathroom. We put our kids upstairs and let them watch TV when they woke up. The rest of the house was SO quiet, we actually got to sleep in on vacation!!!! We 100% will be back. The owners are the kindest people who truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Don't hesitate, just don't take our week! Also, make sure to go to alligator refuge. It is a 35 min drive, but we saw 16 bears CLOSE over a two day period (only 2 hours combined). Is a future must see for us!!

Wonderful rental with amazing backyard!

This rental was perfect for our girls getaway, the Hardings have put so much time and thought into providing a home away from home. The layout of the house is perfect and is much more spacious than the pictures show. I loved the cozy backyard, the decor, very quiet area, and of course the beach. Can't wait to go back 🌴🌺

Wonderful oasis!

The Blue Oasis surpassed our expectations. The upstairs area was a perfect getaway for our teens to have their own space. Every attention to detail was noticed- from the well stocked kitchen to the amazing bath products and everything in between. It truly was a home away from home for the week.

Great experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and in a great location- close to the beach and the activities in Kill Devils, but also central to all the other outer banks towns we wanted to visit. Although there were just two of us on this trip, we commented several times that this house would be perfect for multiple families traveling together. The owner is very thoughtful in her communication and in the amenities provided in the house. The backyard was also really nice. It was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, but we did nap in the hammock and build a fire in the pit. We would definitely stay here again.

Another great year at the blue oasis!

We have spent several weeks over the past several years staying at the blue oasis, and every year, it keeps getting better! Thank you Lauralee for your thoughtful hospitality and for continuing to upgrade your lovely home away from home. The kids love spending time in the outdoor cowboy pool, and the upgrades to the backyard space provide plenty of room to relax, both inside and out. All of the provided amenities are super helpful while staying in the house, and traveling to and from the beach. Staying here makes packing so much easier! We are looking forward to another visit next year!

Great location

House had everything we needed. Great location for dining, beach access and plenty of space for family activities. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook and the backyard pool keeps the kids entertained after a long day at the beach. Highly recommend this house.

Fully stocked inside and out

This house lives bigger than it looks from the outside! A big sectional in the LR for relaxing, another living room upstairs gives space to spread out. Beds are made, bathrooms are stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, etc. Kitchen has everything you need! I loved the back patio with a large sun shade for afternoon relaxing out of the hot sun (I think the photos show an umbrella but it is now a much larger sun shade). Fire pit with fire logs provided, beach chairs and umbrella, and even a small pool (maybe 24” deep and 6’ across) with a pump so it’s refreshing for both kids and adults, and sounds like a water feature next to the patio! Very relaxing! We loved our time there!

Wonderful stay

My family and I broke down on our day trip to OBX. We stayed at the Blue Oasis and it was wonderful. Very clean and beds were super comfortable. It was so convenient to have samples of necessities like coffee, toilet paper and soap! Especially since we were not prepared for an overnight trip. Highly recommend the Blue Oasis to anyone looking to vacation in OBX.

We loved Blue Oasis

The house was just as cute as pictured. The proximity to the beach was easy. It had just the right amount of bedrooms and baths. There were lots of toys and games to keep the grandkids busy and they LOVED the pool. I highly recommend renting from Lauralee; she was very polite and responsive. We hope to visit again!

Great family getaway

Such a nice property! The house was roomy enough for our extended family trip. Love the "split" of the house. It allowed for upstairs guests to have a little privacy for down time for the kids. The yard is a perfect size with lots to keep the kids busy and the parents relaxed. We loved the vintage gaming system and had lots of fun reliving our youth.

Great week in OBX!

Our family of 5 with kids aged 9, 8 and 6 had a great time at the Blue Oasis and it is exactly as described. Easily could have fit another small family without feeling cramped. The same house was stocked very well which helped not having to bring as much on our drive from the northeast. Short walk to the beach, stores, restaurant and pier. The backyard was a huge plus over other houses and the kids loved cooling off in the pool when we weren’t at the beach. Lauralee was extremely helpful providing info especially since it was our first time in the area. Highly recommend the Blue Oasis!

Loving life at The Blue Oasis!

Needed a place with no steps for my elderly mother. She loved that she did not have to climb a single step if she did not want to. We were able to drop her off at the beach access a couple of blocks over with no dune to climb! Also found out that there are beach wheelchairs available for free,if needed! That info is at the beach access. The Blue Oasis is family friendly. Great if you have younger children with plenty of toys and games. We are kids at heart & played video games. We had a cookout in back yard. Also a nice fire pit and small pool. Mom was able to get in and soak her feet while I floated. More for kids but we still enjoyed it. The patio furniture was great for our back yard 25th Anniversary meal. Love the Doterra soaps and shampoo. Everything we needed was already there including spices and cooking oil for cooking. Beach chairs were nice. I accidently left my house and car keys and they mailed them to me for free. Owners are very nice and accommodating. We had a wonderful time!

Time Away

This cozy cottage was very nice and comfortable. Our daughter's family with 2 young children had their own space upstairs. Although the kitchen was compact, it was well stocked. The gem was the fenced back yard and kid's pool. We spent hours there and the addition of the patio cover made that area a nice added living area.

Wonderful house

The Blue Oasis is a wonderful house. It has everything you need for your stay: clean, well appointed bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. The beds and couches are comfortable. It is close to the beach and has a nice backyard to hang out in. There are some games and books provided, and tvs with Roku. The property owners communicated well and were easy to contact. Wonderful vacation at a wonderful home!

What a great find the Blue Oasis was!our family had a much needed relaxing vacation in the outer banks, and our stay at the blue Oasis was exactly what we were looking for. All the ammenities were thoughtfully provided with personal touch that made the house feel like home away from home. Everything was neat and tidy, and the backyard allowed for plenty of room for the kids to play. They loved cooling off in the pool! It's an easy walk to the beach, even with the family in tow, and there are plenty of things to do around the area to keep everyone entertained for the week. Thank you for making our get away so memorable! We'll be back for sure!

Beautiful Home and Great Location

Lauralee is the hostess with the mostest! Their home is very clean and everything you need is there. Great communication and she really wants to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Early Fall Get Away

This property is much more than described! It is a true diamond. Every amenity available! You do not need to take a thing but clothes The yard was roomy and had plenty of seating! Had a couple of questions which were answered promptly! Will definitely book here again!

The Blue Oasis is owned by Dennis & Lauralee, who have 4 beautiful children. We are entrepreneurs from northern Virginia, who have businesses in real estate investing, building contracting, HVAC contracting, short term vacation rentals, as well as a new flower farming venture. We also homeschool our children and enjoy traveling and spending lots of time outdoors.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this home only partially finished in 2012, renovated it, and opened it to guests in 2013. We love this home because if its close proximity to the beach, its location on a quiet street, in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood with nearby residential cops keeping an eye out for the community's safety and well-being. We have been bringing our family here for multiple yearly trips since our children were born. They have grown up making memories in this house, and it is really important to us to help other families make special memories here as well. We have all fallen head over heels for the Outer Banks area. One reason we chose this house was because of the location to all the OBX has to offer. We are not only within walking distance to the beach but also close to shopping, many restaurants, and popular sightseeing destinations. It is in a quiet neighborhood where we feel safe and secure with our family. Having this home has given us a unique opportunity to practice hospitality and have a wonderful, cozy, smoke-free vacation getaway for our family and friends, year after year.
