About this property

Private Beach Access with beautiful water view between Sequim & Port Angeles

Your health and safety comes first to us! We are using products approved by the CDC to eradicate any lingering germs, bacteria, and viruses. We are taking extra precautions by ensuring all commonly touched surfaces are wiped down completely. The linens, towels, bed sheets, etc. are washed per manufacturers guidelines. We are also stocking our home with essential disinfectants and supplies to help you follow the CDC’s guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you to our property and hosting your stay.

The Hideaway Hut is a quiet, comfortable home away from home and will be a place you will want to return to again and again. It is conveniently located mid way between two main towns on the North Olympic Peninsula, Sequim and Port Angeles. It is hidden away at the end of a road in the best kept local secret; a very small, award-winning community over looking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It has a unique access to the beach via a five minute hiking trail along a creekside which forms a lagoon at the end before spilling into the Strait. Beachcombing is a must on this special stretch of beach. Wildlife watching and photographing is a part of the entire experience here. The deer will be seen just outside your window and the eagles will be perched in the trees as you enjoy the views of the water.
The queen bed is very comfortable with a pillow-top mattress and extra sleeping accommodations for two are in the leather sleeper-sofa in the main living area. You will get a wonderful night's sleep with the quiet surroundings and the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore.

You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hideaway Hut.

Gorgeous Setting

We enjoyed our stay at Hideaway Hut. We had the best weather and both nights were spent in the big bench overlooking the strait, watching the sun set. The hike down to the beach was great too. We highly recommend this cottage - it is in a great location and is central to anything you would want to do.

Beautiful property!

The weather didn't cooperate for our short stay, but we still got to enjoy a gorgeous sunset. The home was very clean and was stocked with everything we might need. We also loved watching the deer hang out! We would come and stay again

Hideaway in paradise

The Hideaway hut was just perfect spent the week exploring the Olympic national park and would come home to the most cozy of Hideaways .Spent mornings watching bald eagles bringing food back to the nest and the deer looking in to say good morning .I would highly recommend this property.

Great location and stay

The property was really nice. You had a great view of the ocean and sunsets were so pretty there. The place was exactly how it was described and was a short drive to the visitor entrance of Olympic but secluded enough. Enjoyed our stay.

Fun stay

We really enjoyed our stay. Clean, quiet location. Enjoyed walks down to the ocean and seeing deer and eagle. The only reason one might not want to stay is if you have a fear of frogs (decor). It also is a bit remote, but we liked that. Not too far from restaurants.

Lovely

Enjoyed my stay here. Very cozy. Loved the sunset view from the backyard and right from the kitchen area. Mostly just used for basecamp for some hiking. Would 100% consider staying here again. Love the area, wish there was something for sale like it. Thank you!

A Gem on the Straits of Juan De Fuca

This property was a wonderful find and perfect for our 3-day getaway. The views from the Hideaway Hut exceeded expectations. Moreover, the numerous nature trails around the whole property, in addition to the truly amazing trail to the beach, was an extra bonus! We have been looking for a place where we can come often to get away from the city--we have found it!

Breathtaking Sunset View

Wonderful place to stay. The scenery and sunset view are unmatched. The beach is fantastic. We did accidentally walk into the wrong house. There is a "Hideaway Hut" and "Hideaway House" that have the same address and are next door to each other. You might double check the names before walking in.

Views and quiet with lots of park nearby

We loved the quiet of this home and walking spots. We went to a lot of national forest/park from here. Bald Eagle perches, beach overlooks, and a great sunset view (both in the house and on nearby walks).

Perfect for our vacation!

The Hideaway Hut was absolutely perfect for our visit to the Pacific Northwest. It was well appointed with anything and everything we needed. It had amazing views of the Strait, we watched the eagles (3) tend to their nest every morning, watched one of the fawns bed down in the shrubbery. We really enjoyed the trail to the beach. We would love to visit again sometime!

Cozy and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway Hut. The location is great, secluded, NO traffic, neat, well kept, and beautiful and overlooking the Strait of San Juan. It was an easy drive to Port Angeles, Olympic National Park, the ferry to Victoria. The furniture is comfortable, the bed is cozy and there are windows galore. We loved it.

Beautiful Views and Walking Trails

My sister and I stayed two nights before hopping on a ferry to Kirkland to see family. This property was just beautiful. It had stunning views, walking trails, some a little steep, but so much nature surrounding us. Deer were on the property, an eagles nest was right above us on the property, We could hear the crashing waves below us. We drove from Boise, ID and got on a ferry to cross over. The drive to the property was beautiful! We drove a short distance to Madison Falls, visited the Dungeness Spit, and the Olympic game farm. We drove to the super cute Port of Port Angeles. Great location. Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked with everything we needed. Wonderful stay!

We feel very fortunate to be able to live in one of the most beautiful and unique spots on the North Olympic Peninsula and to be able to share it with travelers seeking to experience the beauty and wonders of this special area. We are located on several acres of land, partially farmland, partially woodland on the high bank waterfront bluff along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our views are of the majestic Olympic mountain range to the south and of Vancouver Island, B.C. to the north. Having a wooded creek as our eastern boundary, we are able to provide the unique access pathway to the beach below. All of our several vacation rental homes enjoy the use of this same five minute hiking trail which is the most treasured feature of our properties. Wildlife abounds in this natural habitat where deer, eagles, river otter, seals and more are seen as an every day occurrence. We work daily at our other businesses where we sell home improvement products such as appliances, flooring, cabinets etc. We strive to have all of our vacation homes reflect our enthusiasm for inviting, quality interiors so that our guests feel truly welcome and at home while they stay in our homes.

Why they chose this property

We have lived on this acreage for many, many years and have gradually developed several vacation rentals on it over the past few years. We love this beautiful land and try to keep it looking it's best for everyone who comes to visit so that they will enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

This particular vacation home is a cute, custom built cottage with the best views, and close to the creek and to the trail that leads to the beach. It is so quiet and private and when the deer stroll past the porch and nibble on the fruit trees, it is like a storybook setting. When the exquisitely beautiful peacock comes by everyone gets out their cameras!
