About the Farmhouse and local area:
After a short ride over Bixby Hill turn into your private drive, up and over the rocky ledge and 1/4 mile in to find your Authentic Vermont Post & Beam farmhouse. Welcome to 12 Gables at Bixby Hill.

An idyllic setting with views of Mount Mansfield, private pond, meandering stream, Indigenous stone walls around the house accentuate the beauty of the gardens that surround this beautiful property. Manicured yards with walking path down to the pond provide ample space to enjoy this pristine property. The stone walled fire pit surround Adirondack chairs providing comfortable seating for six.

Enter into an open foyer complete with sitting area and digital workspace. Then pass into the main home to find the grand 2 1/2 story great room. Not to be outdone, the floor to ceiling stone Rumford fireplace provides a beautiful setting and warmth for chilly morning sunrises over the Green Mountains or cozy evenings entertaining guests. Turn on the propane stove to provide additional warmth throughout the main living space.

Indulge yourself and your guests in the quaint but ample kitchen appointed with custom cherry cabinets, Vermont verde marble island, and stainless appliances. Kitchen dining area allow additional settings to enjoy time with family and friends comfortably seating 6 guests throughout. Screened-in covered porch off the kitchen leaves room for enjoying a morning coffee or lunch with friends at the table for four. Sit in the open air covered porch off the kitchen to enjoy the front yard gardens and the setting sun.

The sitting room offers a wonderful spot to read or just enjoy a quiet moment. The fully equipped bathroom and laundry are across the hall.

Back in the main living space the grand staircase lining the stone fireplace takes you to the 2nd floor guest quarters including a master suite with loft. The oversized bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and marble and stone shower with his and her vanity providing private access from the suite and shared access to the other guest rooms. Guest bedroom #2 has a spacious 2 story post and shiplap ceiling and queen bed. Guest bedroom #3 is more cozy with intricate post and shiplap ceiling and views of Mount Mansfield and the pond and has an Italian leather/ sofa bed for 2 adults and additional digital workspace.

The expansive multi-level deck serving the great room provide room for dining area, coffed table and chairs, tanning beds, grille and preparation table as well as a fully appointed lounge area with propane heater towers.

Please note, a caretaker occupies the private loft apartment above the garage, but will NOT interfere with your stay. All communication will be with your super host Steven.

Locale - Although the Farmhouse provides all the privacy and enjoyment you expect a private estate to offer, it is only a few minutes from groceries, gas, cinema, shopping and dining. Restaurants all within 10 minutes, to name a few, include: The Junction, a wonderful culinary restaurant offering many exquisite meals. The Tavern, offering more casual dining. Black Flannel Brewery and Distillery offering amazing smash burgers and other fare along with locally brewed beer and spirits. Bramble, offering wood-fired pizzas and other Italian cuisine in a wonderful speakeasy setting. Jules on the Green, offering 100% Peanut & Tree Nut Free menu - with Recognition To Food Allergies & Intolerances, Jericho Café and Tavern, offering food to table fare and wonderful morning coffees and pastries. Uncommon Coffee Co. with their own roastery and breakfast fare.

As you can imagine, you are in the heart of Vermont and have access to all nature offers.
