Great potential, needs a little bit of TLC

Overall our stay was ok / good. The property was clean and most things were as described. Not giving 5 stars for a couple of reasons:1) The primary bathroom was useable but needs some repairs:1.1) Some of the tiles around the bathtub are missing, offering sharp edges.1.2) There's a large gap behind the double sink vanity. Usually you'd find some kind of backsplash there to prevent things from falling behind the vanity or water from dripping down behind it.2) The house uses radiant heat floors, which take a looong time to warm up. Unfortunately the Nest thermostats were configured to turn down heating at several times during the day, which caused the house to basically be cold most of the time. At 10F outdoor temperature this was quite inconvenient.3) We can only assume the owner has a dog as there were dog hair in some of the comforters. Luckily neither of us was allergic, but it was somewhat unexpected, given the "no pets" policy for the property.4) The kids complained that the garbage bags had a strong smell to them. It got better over the days.5) The dish washer worked, but when pulling out the bottom drawer, it continue to "fall off". I turned out it's missing a wheel.Good things:1) Lots of space, in particular in the living room / dining room / kitchen.2) The kids loved the huge TV.3) The drive way was cleared of snow and grit was added so we could make it up and down with ease (no 4WD, but winter tires).

Why they chose this property

Nestled amidst the soaring peaks and lush valleys of New Hampshire's White Mountains, our home is a unique blend of nature's tranquility and modern comfort. It's not just a house; it's a haven where every window frames a picturesque landscape, and every room tells a story.

What truly sets our home apart is its harmonious connection to its surroundings. Constructed using locally-sourced materials, the house pays homage to traditional New England architecture while integrating modern design elements. The house was constructed with wood harvested from the property echoing the forest's timeless beauty, every detail is a tribute to the land we deeply love.

But it's not just about the house. It's about the magnetic pull of the White Mountains that we find irresistible. Here, we've found a playground for every season: pristine snow-covered slopes beckon in the winter, wildflower-filled meadows come alive in the spring, the cool Pemi River offers respite in the summer, and a tapestry of autumnal hues paints the landscape in the fall.

We cherish the morning mist that dances over the valleys, the chorus of crickets on a starry night, and the countless trails that have become our meditation. This region is steeped in history, rich in natural wonders, and bursting with activities for outdoor enthusiasts and leisure seekers alike.

To us, the White Mountains are more than just a geographical location; they're a state of mind, a way of life, and an endless source of inspiration. We invite you to experience the magic, the mystery, and the sheer beauty of this area from the comfort of our unique home.
