We loved the Tea House!!!

We had a wonderful couple nights here, and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. It is comfortable, inviting, tastefully deccorated, and Lynne and Jerry were warm and gracious hosts. I can't recommend it enough.

The most amazing guest house!

The family (2 adults, 2 teens) loved our short stay at the tea house. The guest house is located about 30 minutes south of Hilo, about one block from the amazing shores of Paradise Cliffs! I have stayed at a lot of rental properties and this is hands down, one the most beautifully decorated, and one of my favorite rental properties. The guest house is exactly how it is described. While it’s not a big space, everything is designed with purpose and the outdoor patio really made the space bigger than it is. Our host, Lynne, is the sweetest and communicated with me through VRBO and text. She gave recommendations whenever we needed them and provided additional information about closures to the national park. I miss the waves of the Paradise Cliffs, the short naps on the outdoor patio, the sound of summer rain mixed in with Hawaiian music playing on the record player and my chats with Lynne. If I am ever back in Hilo, I will definitely be back.

Great Little House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Modern Tea House. We wanted something near Pahoa Village and not too far from Hilo, and this location was perfect. It is small, but well appointed and thoughtfully arranged. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom linens were quality. We stayed for 13 days and it was a good stay. The hosts were very helpful with any questions we had and quickly responded to our needs. The ocean was a block or so away. Thank you Lynne and Jerry!

Amazing and relaxing space for a vacation

We just stayed 3 nights at the Tea House and it was fantastic. It's a little removed from the town center areas, but still close enough to Hilo and Pahoa to get lunch/dinner. (Quick 25 min drive into Hilo). The space itself was EXACTLY as it was pictured. We spent every morning on the deck and watched the sun rise (jet lag allowed for early rising) and it was a beautiful view alternating between sunshine and rain fall. Lynne was super responsive and very respectful of our space (she lives in the main house at the front of the property), and the small touches made us feel very at home. The bed was nice and firm but not hard, and we love any place that provides extra pillows and blankets. All in all, we would recommend this space to our friends, And hope to return for a stay in the future!

I built this brand new house to be used as a vacation rental. I am a designer from NY and I have designed and built several homes in Hawaii. I have made this house with every detail in mind for a great stay.

Why they chose this property

This is a beautiful ocean view neighborhood. You will see people walking and biking all the time.

What makes this property unique

This house is very modern. Looks like a NYC home in Hawaii! The house is filled with amazing black and white photography from a local artist.
