About this property

Central Lakeland Home Convenient to Downtown, Universities and Tampa & Orlando

My historic home is waiting for you! Open, modern space w/ 2 bedrooms + bonus room, back deck and huge back yard with all the amenities needed for a short stay or staycation. Walk Lake Hollingsworth, tour Florida Southern's beautiful campus, or travel 5 minutes to get to Southeastern University. If you're looking for a family-friendly experience, look no further than Bonnet Springs Park, home of the Florida Children's Museum. One of the greatest benefits of this location is how easily you can travel to Disney, Busch Gardens, LEGOLAND, Peppa Pig, Lake Myrtle Sport Complex, and more!

Our guests love how convenient the house is to downtown, and the other activities that take place in Lakeland. Whether you're visiting for family, or traveling to Lakeland for work, or if you're looking for a great location to come down and catch the Detroit Tigers Spring Training, or the SUN 'n FUN Fly In, you'll find so much to do in and around this cozy retreat! Enjoy a quiet, brick paved street, away from noisy traffic, but close to everything in town.

The space
This charming single family bungalow home is located in the most coveted part of Lakeland, just off Lake Hollingsworth! The original wood floors, combined with the newly decorated and freshly painted interior, will make you feel right at home! Enjoy the Florida sunset on the back porch with a glass of wine, or read the morning news with a hot cup of coffee.

You are located near lots of favorite Foodie spots, like award winning Nineteen61, and and just a few miles from downtown and Dixieland.

Enjoy a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, or a visit to the Farmers Market on Saturday or check out First Fridays downtown!

I am usually available to offer suggestions for great local activities to help you maximize your stay and fall in love with my home town!

We are waiting for you!
Guest access
You will have full access to the house, and the backyard, including the back deck, which has comfortable furniture to enjoy the warm Florida sunshine!

Other things to note
Plan on bringing groceries, condiments, and other necessities during your stay. The refrigerator will be completely empty, and freshly cleaned. There may be some coffee, popcorn or other snacks available, but for the most part, you'll want to plan your stay as if you were visiting a hotel.

Clean, attractive, comfortable

Our host was very gracious & I would definitely like to stay here on any future trips! It's an attractive house with good heat & air, very comfortable & well maintained. Pretty view of a lake from the back deck. Loved the brick street & access to beautiful Lake Hamilton. You can definitely tell the host puts a lot of effort into making her clients comfortable in this clean home. Thank you Chrissanne!

Great stay

Perfect property and location for a 2-day stay. Moved our son into his residence hall and this property was very conveniently located near his university. Fenced in back yard was great for our fur baby.

Room for Improvement

The property actually has the potential to provide a great stay, but my stay was unfortunately a disappointment—the entire house, kitchen, cabinetry, cookware, everything, etc. was covered in cat fur from the previous guest. It must have been in the a/c ducts too because I immediately developed sinus problems and a rash—I’m assuming from all the pet dander. The a/c also struggled to cool the house. But, I do think my stay might have been out of the ordinary. Shortly after booking my reservation and paying in full, I received a call from the host saying the house was left in poor condition by the previous guest but she assured me everything would be cleaned. Obviously not the case. I’m sure the host had good intentions, and I think/hope this wouldn’t be the norm for future guests. The host is very polite, the lawn and everything outside was perfect, but the interior honestly needs a DEEP cleaning. Ideally, I would be grateful for a partial refund.

About the host

Hosted by Chrissanne Long

Host profile image
I grew up in Polk County and I love to show off our community to guests! This is the greatest place to live, work and play and I guarantee, if you spend a little time exploring our little neck of the woods, you'll want to come back!

I love hosting guests because it's in my DNA! I don't interfere with my guests visits, but whenever they need me, I am there to help! If you need guidance on restaurants, shops, or local events and happenings, I would love to help you find the best things to do in and around Lakeland!

Why they chose this property

Location, Location, Location! After a few days in Lakeland, you'll know that Lake Hollingsworth is central to everything in Lakeland! There's nothing more satisfying than a beautiful sunset walk around the lake, or an early morning stroll for the early birds!

What makes this property unique

This might look like "just another" 2 bedroom 1 bath listing but the house offers so much more than you'd expect. The spacious living room, coupled with the bonus room and back deck make it a perfect retreat for a small family, or a couple visiting for the winter months. You'll live like a local and enjoy the best Lakeland has to offer with all of the comforts of home.
