Aloha! Welcome to Papakea and this beautiful OCEAN FRONT - 2 bedrooms, 2 bath + loft. The property is located within minutes of both Whaler’s Village and Black Rock and resides within a 13-acre resort like property.
This “penthouse” style property is only 45’ from the ocean and you will be able to enjoy spectacular views, turtles, whales (in season), and neighboring islands (Molokai & Lanai) from its 4th floor view (no stomping feet above you) and access via elevator or stairs. A washer/dryer are in unit to keep your towels an suits clean and dry during your stay.
The fully equipped kitchen has all the essentials you will need + an ocean view. Soaring ceilings create an even larger feel to the property and the large lanai is perfect for breakfast as well as incredible sunset views (without the crowds or the need to go somewhere).
If you enjoy snorkeling – there is a private entrance directly to the reefs. If you’d prefer pools, there are two as well as two Jacuzzi hot tubs, tennis and pickle-ball courts, putting greens and for those that are grill masters, plenty of gas grills for your use. Let’s not stress about Wi-Fi as free Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort.
Located near the Kaanapali boardwalks, walkers and joggers alike will have access to this great trail. There is a grocery store and farmers market within a short walk as well as restaurants, food trucks, a fish market and more.
My favorite part of Papakea is it reflects a traditional Maui style, and you’ll feel like you’re in Maui, not just another typical hotel space that you can find anywhere. In addition to the property’s Koi fishponds and lush tropical landscaping, you’ll hear the ocean and feel its breeze daily and nightly (if you prefer A/C, there is a split system available to cool the entire unit). I’ll put it like this - If you were any closer to the water, you’d be swimming with na hanu (the turtles).

Beautiful property

We visit Maui often and this has been by far our favorite property we have stayed.

Simply put - the VIEW. This past August (2024) we stayed for 2 weeks and saw turtles (lots) every day. Just sitting and having coffee or popping up to the condo for lunch - they'd swim by, sometimes in pairs. The beds are comfortable and the unit can sleep nine (3 in the loft - although we push 2 together and make it a Q) 1Q, 1K and a pullout couch. There were four of us and more than enough room to sit and relax. Kitchen has everything you need and you can walk to the ABC store which is by the parking lot. Staff is very friendly and the grounds are meticulously groomed.

Why they chose this property

Location is great is it's close to everything but not IN everything. Parking is easy and is shaded due to the gigantic trees and there was never an issue finding a space. Less than 5 minutes to Whalers Village.

What makes this property unique

We love the property as it's "comfortable". All ages, plenty of space and the sunset views are incredible. You can hear the conch-shells being blown at sunset.
